Winner of Rajasthan Lalit Kala Akademi over five times, Prof. Bhawani Shankar Sharma’s work has not only been exhibited throughout India in several galleries and shows but also been presented in several international Exhibitions. Bhawani is a visiting faculty member of many academic bodies of art in Rajasthan and other Indian states.
About Fresco Painting (Arayash):
Traces of wall paintings are found on Shekhawati structures erected by Muslim nawabs, Rajputs, and Banias dating back to the 17th century. The wall painting of Ajanta, Bagh, and Cochin are some examples of the same.
Scenes depicted cover 10 broad themes-decorative designs, daily life, religion, raga mala, folk mythology, historical events or personalities, flora and fauna, erotica, maps or places, and the British and their contraptions.
