That's the way my Grandfather & Uncle used to shift their trucks with non-synchro transitions in the 60's & 70's when I was a kid. Keep the double clutch videos coming. Some of us love it old school.

Nah she’s does amazing at shifting but if she really knew how to drive the truck she would float there’s basically no wear and tear done on any engine/ transmission components that way my dad has had the same clutch in his semi for 13 years cause he floats every time

Just driving a manual in today’s world is an accomplishment, to do it well is another thing on its own. She drove this unit wonderfully, the shifting was awesome, I feel qualified to make such a statement because of my background in my work and worldly experience.
@@seanray3978 new trucks no longer come manuel shift from the manufacturers which is just fine due to the pain in the a*** they are when on places like Chicago, Atlanta etc. Manuel transmission if fine of your in the middle of now where but that old real quick in stop and go traffic jams. Bad weather manuel is better to have of possible though

From your words and insistence and thinking that automatic transmission is the best , I don’t think you been driving long and most likely can only drive automatic transmission vehicles. If I’m wrong I apologize, if not you should try your hand at shifting for some miles. You might find after you stop grinding gears you like the whole process of being one with the truck instead of a puppet for the truck.
@@seanray3978 I've driven plenty and don't grind gears or even use the clutch and in heavy traffic stop and go use the dinosaur equipment if you like but I'll pass. The old men that time has passed them by and are forced into modern trucks don't like it until a month or so goes by then they'd never go back. Can't teach a old dog new tricks when they don't know any better.

@@TabTheTechthe technique of " double clutching" - as far as I know to my fairly knowledgeable mechanical base, but I absolutely stand to be corrected here...., O.K., covered my ass, to my knowledge, it was done to keep the gear box revolutions up ( I.e. keep the (compared to a car gear box...) many gears & shafts ( that the gears are mounted on & thus rotating on...) up to a suitable speed to enable easier & better shifting & integration of the next higher ratio gear. Very old gearboxes did not have syncromesh gearboxes ( syncromeshes aid in speeding up the next higher ratio gear to enable a nice gear change experience...)Also very heavy machinery & very old trucks had straight cut teeth on the gears ( compared to later technology of Helical cut gears.... Helical cut was for more surface area of the teeth & quieter operation...) Straight cut gears are very strong but noisy as sh-t!! Truck gear boxes are very heavily built to with stand high stress loading & so they slowed down quickly when not being driven by the engine through the clutch & the input shaft of the gearbox. Way too longer explanation........

Floating gears is less ware and tear on the clutch. In my opinion, she should be floating them also. Double clutching is for non synchronize transmissions.
My teeny tiny niece drives a semi as well props lady! My dad, her granddad, has mack truck manure haulers and one day he needed to.move then, there are 3. My neice was here for a visit and totally surprised Granddad by her skill and bravery when she just hoped up in one and drove it better than the young men! ❤

Вот что и странно. На америкосах сцепление обычно для трогания (привод даже без усилителя), а скорости переключаются под сброс газа
На Америке без сцепления переключать надо

The trucks are engineered to double clutch. Not float. She's operating it the correct way.

@@JuanJoseMedellin No no, por el contrario, el doble embrague se usa en cajas de velocidades sin sincronizados, como la Fuller de 13 cambios por ejemplo.
Es mucho más difícil de manejar que una caja con sincronizados.

This lady knows more about Double clutching than most of the drivers of today that think they are doing something great by floating the gears...you can always tell who knows how to change gears when you tear the transmission down...i know...drove for 48 years...super loads..150k-200klbs..

I'm sure you know the word for that now, but it's called floating gears. In case you didn't know.
We used to call it ‘speed shifting’
Now we need to teach you to float those gears. Great job shifting that mack.

I could never get the hang of double clutching. I learned shifting without the clutch and could never break the habit.
Floating gears is less ware and tear on the clutch. In my opinion, she should be floating them also. Double clutching is for non synchronize transmissions.

My teeny tiny niece drives a semi as well props lady! My dad, her granddad, has mack truck manure haulers and one day he needed to.move then, there are 3. My neice was here for a visit and totally surprised Granddad by her skill and bravery when she just hoped up in one and drove it better than the young men! ❤
