Also, would the Sirksey incorporate this in their language? like when someone says "they found many feathers as a child" would represent someone that was raised with much love because their parents hid many feathers for them or when someone have very good luck means they found many years worth of feathers as children
i almost cried at fathers making their daughters feather clothes before they join a different family, because gathering feathers was their first bonding time, that's so sweet
It's the same world in which people's words have a magical power, right? I'm imagining the little children calling out for the feathers to show up. "Hello First feather! Where are you? Show up, please?", leading adults to subtly lead them to where they hid the feather earlier.
i really liked the part where all of the feathers means somthing posetive, i can just imagine a child bursting in to the head of the village and him just being like "wow good job this means that this year will be super lucky!" and the kid just being over the moon for the next month
That's such a neat premise! I particularly liked the idea of a father sewing feathers into his daughter's cloak before she leaves; it's very bittersweet, and such a nice expression of love.
The praise thing reminded me of when my sister and I hunted four-leaf clovers, because my sister was really obsessed with lucky things. I don't remember whos idea it was but there were us little kids in a trailer park just searching for four-leaf clovers in a whole patch of three-leaf clovers and somehow, my sister kept finding a whole bunch of them and showing giving them to my mom, who praised her and continued to talk to a friend who owned the trailer we were visiting. It wasn't until the seventh or eighth clover fell apart when it was found out that my sister was actually spending the time crouched down diligently tying clover stems together to make it look like she had found a four-leaf clover, when it was actually two clovers and one was ripped more finely to be tied discreetly. (my siblings and I spent our childhood tearing plants apart to figure out what they looked like and to make crude decorations, so both my sister and I were good at carefully stripping plants and re-assembling them with our bare hands). My mother stopped praising her when this was found out , but I had found my own naturally-formed four-leaf clover soon afterwards and I felt accomplished, but wasn't praised quite as much as my sister because I was slightly older and less childish overall, even though I worked very hard to find the actual "lucky" clover without adult intervention (plus I think my mom was tired dealing with a lot of little kids who all wanted attention). I wonder if any Sirksey child has ever tried to fake a feather just for the praise? Or perhaps used magic to conjure one up? Interesting video, I stumbled across your channel a while ago and you have a lot of interesting and neat ideas!
