Not mentioned here, But you can actually cancel the ending lag on that sliding double sweep with a Spring. You'll drop the spring the moment the slash finishes and instantly jump on it, completely cutting out the need for the roll.

Give this guy more likes, this was super helpful, not only that but going from a spring attack to the Heavy attack skips the first two attacks and goes right to the final muli-hit attack helps tons.

if you do a crate, crate, torch you will still jump like triple crate but it will set your weapon on fire

Are you using the triangle(y) attack when unbound, too?
I get way more damage spamming the r2 button on the dummy. And also I find the triangle attack way better for generating your charge, so i play the weapon completely opposite, like you and in the video shown. Also I find stamina very important on the katana. Just curious.
@@maxheusingthe y when unbound is when its it's most effective outside of a toppled monster, past that RT is a superior safer generator. The typical loop goes heavy, light, into special or light into special depending on situation and the reason heavy spam in neutral isnt so grand is mainly for how long it takes to set up where you could easily just burst and keep going
@@maxheusing landing the grate jump and into a weak point of a kemono spamming triangle then ending with a r2 have worked for me more personally, its also a nice safe one cus you can cancel your triangle attack mid way by pressing r2 getting a nice getaway if you need it

I'd like to add a boots from frostwolf in kemono path for stamina regen while running, also got a talismant with same skill, super useful for letting you dodge as much as you want and always have that stamina going
This was my secret build I’ve been using since yesterday, with manifestation perk i have 112% (80% on my weapons and the rest from my talismans) 😅

You should try a crit draw build. That's what I'm doing with the katana. From my testing, the heavy combo counts as a draw attack
I saw the skill yesterday and if irc it reads it boosts your attack for a bit after drawing your weapon. So in my mind it gives a buff whenever you draw your weapon unless i'm thinking of a different skill.
@pn3um0th0r4x I meant the draw attack boost off of wind cats armor with the crit draw.

cant seem to get the tail from the final boss, any tips?
Knock her down or once she goes to the ground concentrate all damage on the end of the tail where you get the orange numbers. if your sword is charged wait for that moment to unbound and it should come off fairly quickly. have some patience and it will work out. I've been cutting it off every time using this method.

You’re missing out on so much dmg.
Emberplume gloves and chest both have 7% desperation.
You can farm desperation Talisman from Lurid Soulstalker and Emberplume
I have 91% Manifestation release
51% Desperation
+3 Savage
12% switch blade and speed blade
22% Battle Spirit
I hit 1444 on a Volatile.
Also using basic karakuri incorporated weapon attacks to build your meter is much faster than spamming switch blade attack.

I slightly disagree with this tree. The 10% increase to how fast you generate your Guage can be traded out for another Manifestation skill if you go left instead of straight down early in the build. But this IS a good build. I'm hitting anywhere between 2-5k on a triple crate slam with a crit head hit. [I use a single sleep talisman to get the wake up bonus damage]
The issue with taking another manifestation is you don’t have enough time to get the entirety of your burst off since it will drain faster.
@Isaiah Peace Sacrificing 'Duel Master' for the Manifestation im still pulling off the full combos. If all Duel Master is doing is giving you 10% to generation on a skill you're going to hold off on using anyway for opportunity bursts then you aren't losing but gaining dps by taking on this Manifestation. Especially in the Deeply Volitile hunts
If you can consistently pull off the unleash into full heavy combo into triple box slam while taking more manifestation then it’s for sure worth, but even in this video where he is on a training dummy not a real fight he nearly ran out of time and yeah he could’ve been faster but it seems your build has literally zero room for error, which isn’t reliable nor consistent for most people :)
@Isaiah Peace I'll admit it does require some prep work like having the triple box or wall staged prior to the trap going off. The only issue I'm running into the double-edge of this build is the Lurid Soulstalker where missing 1 drop box can botch the whole combo if the triple box isn't placed just right to come down on a soft spot. But this is only a recent grievance. Any other fight your damage isn't as effected by Soft/Hard points so going full white numbers over Orange doesn't move the needle too terribly much from your average sum. But either way, in that fight, Lurid Soulstalker, your Guage lasts about as long as any of your Trap[up to the 3rd use]/Harpoon stuns.

Not a fan of desperation 😂, with reason update I use 12 % speed fury instead, the stock slash is counter productive , just have less manifestation release 😂
How do you pick the humans or kemeno path on armor. I haven’t seen anything in game that said how to do that and videos I’ve seen have talked about it but not how to actually choice which path you wanna go. I’ve seen humans and kemeno perks on armor
When u go to forge armor look at that top bro
Yeah there are separate tabs at top in the forge. For controller you press RB/LB (xbox controller) or R1/R2 (PS controller), not sure for PC since I use a controller. For the human or kemono paths you have to have the base armor made just keep that in mind.

I'm sad that the unique sword relic is Manifestation Release. Really not a big fan on how it works, and not 100% sure it actually is a damage increase.

To be honest pure defense is just flat out death in endgame (well in general since there really isnt much of a tank option that wouldnt make you weak from something like resistances but for a "healthy" option for the story just mix the first 3 monsters sets in human path in the high rank section

These combos don't work on the monkey boss. The monkey boss was the hardest one one I fought.
Hello everyone I’m new to this type of game and I’m loving it is just I don’t know nothing about this game like what’s the difference between human path and kimono path and how do I active the bonus for them 😪
The difference, aside from the appearance of the armor, is that they contribute toward your overall path score. If you have enough armor pieces that are aligned with the kemono path, then you will enter that path. Same thing for the human path and armor. So if there is a human path skill that you want to activate, you will need to equip enough human path armor to enter the human path.
Also, some skill are locked to certain paths. I might be wrong in this and need to investigate further, but Human Path gives more skills related to the Karakuri mechanics and Kemono Path gives more skills related to the Weapons mechanics

I can't get the hang of this game. Wanna like it but it makes me hate it
I just feel like the katana is so clunky. Dont know I'd I'm missing something but feel like I'm so animation locked with it
if you feel too animation-locked, I recommend using power attack combo instead of special attack spam for building guage, as you can cancel out any time with the spinning slash that has both movement and evasion (do note that there's a small startup to the skill)
You can also cancel by placing a block karakuri.
How do you fight the final boss again?

As Katana main, I find the weapon to be underwhelming compared to the damage output of other weapons. After seeing so many bow speed runs, I've kind of lost interest in playing the Katana.. especially since the final boss is probably one of the worst bosses to fight without using celestial anchor... I don't want to spend 30 minutes fighting that enemy when the bow is doing it in 10 or less on a sloppy run with brain dead strategy.
Idk what you're doing but I do the fight sub 10 minutes with maul. I spam the harpoon while he's in the air and when he does head or tail slam I dodge and dps. I start by cutting the tail off then break the arms then the head when it's enraged to get all the breaks
@@jeanpaul2042 your point is somewhat irrelevant when my complaint is about the katana. I can defeat the boss sub 10 minutes now, but during my progression and before I changed my entire playstyle to be based around celestial anchor.. this fight took longer than I'd like it to. The bow is still easier to play than melee for that fight.
