  • Happy New Year everyone and welcome back to our channel. We have massive plans this year including taking on some of Australia’s most ICONIC drives, we’re heading to the ULARU and on to Darwin. We’ll be hitting up all the popular spots and also some that are not so popular.
In this episode after 25,000kms travelling through Queensland we head towards the NSW border on route to LIGHTENING RIDGE. We stop in at some beautiful free camps along the way before a MASSIVE STORM in Cunnamulla changes our plans, for the good?
So why not come and join us for this week’s adventure, we really hope you enjoy it.
Ally and I would like to thank you all for your wonderful support to our channel and a HUGE WELCOME to all of our new SUBSCRIBERS.
If you’re new to our channel why not consider LIKING & SUBSCRIBING and please as always leave us a COMMENT and let us know what you thought about the video.

Hey guys, just found your channel and watched this vlog. Talk about Deja Vu. In 2022 we got stuck in Cunnamulla during a large weather front and the Caravan Park cancelled our booking leaving us stranded. We drove to St George and through some pretty scary water flowing over the road, wouldn’t do that again. Watching your episode and it so much reminded me of our time there. Good job on the Vlog too, really enjoyed it all. You have about the same luck as us chasing red claw 😃

We’re glad you enjoyed the video. We couldn’t believe how quickly the water came up. It was still flooded a week later. We’ll check out your link today.

Can also recommend Bollon camp site - we’ve been there twice and loved it. Cannot recommend getting there via the Moonie Highway the other side of St George however.

It’s a great spot, we ended up staying 3 days after the storm, we met some of the locals and of course we were constantly amused by the rooster and his mates. We’ll be back there one day for sure.

Oh wow! we had lightning striking ground within 100m of us as we headed across the Charlotte Plains on our way back to Bollon.

Thanks for the video - I'd been tossing up about a portable camp fire - great info. The lack of music is refreshing - your commentary is excellent.

Thank you, I was a bit apprehensive about the Kings Fire Pit but it’s proofed to be a real winner and yes I’m trying to cut back on the music. 🤓

@trip42australia I find alot of music annoying and will stop watching - ok for drone flybys of areas of interest if low-key- you have a very listenanble (is that a word haha) voice.

Hi guys new to your travels and was wanting to do the same thing traveling around aus , was wondering about camping by yourself. You guys worried about that ?

Hey Phil, welcome to our channel. We love free camping, we always sus the area out before we stay and read comments on Wiki Camps about security, hoons etc around the camp. We haven’t stayed anywhere yet that we thought might be dangerous. Through our Starlink we have always got communications and we keep everything secure all of the time. We have an episode coming out soon where we discuss free camping. Hope this helps.
