That’s actually a good idea for low income families. Quick and easy too. Some days we’d skip meals because we could only afford 1 or 2 meals a day and any kind of dessert like cookies were definitely a rare treat. I think they’re great !
Back in the day We called them TV DINNERS. They were great tasting and filling. My entire family used to sit in front of the television watching Bonanza and eating Swanson TV DINNERS. Now they have something similar to that and it is called Banquet. You get Mashed Potatoes, Ribs and corn in some of the packages. Swanson used to have Chicken Legs, Wings and Thighs. The Turkey was OUTSTANDING.

I ate these as a child. I'm 28. I loved how the "goop" or "pudding" turned into a brownie or cake. If you make those corn dogs the right time and try them they're better. You dehydrated them.
I remember the chocolate pudding from those meals being like the best thing ever and now I want to bug my mom to get one just to see if the chocolate pudding is actually as good as I remember.

The water is so the corn becomes boiled and not roasted. They’d be really really dry without it.
