    after watching a lot of tutorials, i came to the conclusion that it *does* matter in which hand you hold it

    • @SnaptoGrid
      @SnaptoGrid  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Of course, one will feel more natural than the other. But I am convinced it a matter of practice. Like, some snooker plates are equally good with both. Admittedly I don’t hold it in my left a lot tho.

    • @marn200
      @marn200 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SnaptoGrid but this is the only one i watched that actually mentioned it, since i am left handed, it felt more natural to hold it in my right hand (and thus play it with left), however it seems easier to hold it in my left hand.

    • @SnaptoGrid
      @SnaptoGrid  ปีที่แล้ว

      Of course. That’s because that side is wired for it. But I am confident it’s possible to get just as good with the other. Just look at Ronnie O’Sullivan for example.

    • @jay-tl2un

      It does matter in that an individual may feel more comfortable with holding it a certain way, but it's totally possible to learn how to hold it in either hand.

      Is it a cheap one? The first one I bought was a cheap morchang and it was very disappointing. The reed was too stiff. Then I bought a Glazyrin. They are VERY expensive, but damn, you really pay for the sound. Trust me, they’re expensive but really rewarding.

      @@SnaptoGrid I’ve just got the harp on Friday. Just getting the vibration groaning was an impossibility, at first. At least now I can get a different bits & pieces of different sounds, just got to keep persevering with the tutorials

    • @SnaptoGrid
      @SnaptoGrid  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@maryhairy1 Uuh congratulations on your new harp :D
      Yes, it feels so strange in the very beginning. It's all about holding the harp real still (firm but not overly so) against the front of the teeth, for good contact. Then, the reed basically does the rest. This can only be learned by practicing, but I'm sure you'll see progress in a couple of days!
      Good luck. :)

      If it’s like a guitar shop kinda harp (massive gaps, no saturation, short sustain, low volume), then it’s not fun to learn on. I mean you could probably do if, but it’s like learning to run in hiking boots. Forgive my terrible analogy 🤣
      So yeah, if you feel like it’s something u wanna learn/explore more, I’d recommend getting a nicer harp. Like, basically any Glazyrin off of Amazon (probably the easiest option). You won’t regret it. 😎
      But if you do..don’t ditch your current one. Keep it around and check what you can do with it later!

      I am not a dentist, but I don't see why not!
      You're not biting overly hard, and the vibration is stimulation for the surrounding tissue, which can only be a positive.
