    We should have more of these for better understanding of Jewish history. As an Asian reading the Holy Bible, I am clueless as to what these terminologies Jebusites, Philistines etc. stand for. And these videos, my friend, bridges the gap from not knowing anything about the region to a better understanding of what these terms stand for in ancient history. I hope you recognize the value your work brings to Christians not so familiar with Jewish history, customs and traditions. Love love love this channel and more power!

      It took me awhile to read the old Testament and breaking down every chapter and making notes (in Bible for me and outside on side notes). It's taken awhile to actually understand but once you do get it, then it's like the history all comes together). Don't give up. It's such a blessing to have the true understanding of the old Testament.

      In the Book of Noah. They made assignments as to where his sons would settle. Part of the earth where Jerusalem is went to Shem. Thus it also provides that Melchizedek is actually Shem. But Ham took an interest in that land unlike Japheth who was happy to settle West. So descendants of Ham were there but Shem occupied Salem which is Jerusalem, the apple of God's eye. From Shem comes Abraham thus Abraham knew that Shem was priest of the Most High and he gave him ten percent of his acquisition. From Abraham comes Israel and the Arabs who is also settled in the land.

    The final point, about Arabs claiming to be descendants of Jebusites simply isn’t like the analogy of Native Americans or British, because there’s simply no history of Arabs ever claiming that identity. It’s something modern Arab nationalism is only recently adopting, just like the use of the name “Palestinian”. The Jebusites and Philistines both assimilated into other cultures, by 600 BCE, while Arab Muslim imperialism first occupied Judea-Palestine, in the Sixth Century CE, 1200 years later. Rome chose to name Judea, “Palestine”, after defeating the ancient Jewish kingdom, when no people called “Philistines” had been living there for six centuries already. Arabs were called Nabateans, at that time, and lived east of the Jordan River. They were not the Philistines. Neither were any of the Arab Caliphates who ruled that region called “Palestinians”. Nor did they rule from Jerusalem. The last imperial Muslim Caliphate to include the territory of modern Israel, the Ottomans, ruled from Turkey and never recognized any political entity or territory called “Palestine”.
    The word “Palestine” was only the European colonial term for the Christian holy land and Jewish homeland under imperial occupation, and the League of Nations Mandate for the establishment of Jewish national homeland, not an Arab identity. And Jerusalem has no connection to Islam. Islam has no claim to Jerusalem. Jews are the only nation of that land. Muslims aren’t one nation and never had a nation unique to that land. Furthermore, Islam, the Quran and Mohammed, didn’t originate in that land. Islam isn’t about that land. Mohammed never made any such national claim on Jerusalem. The Quran actually recognizes Israel as the nation of that land. The only idea Muslims use to claim Jerusalem is a more recent and religious notion that that Mohammed had a dream of flying on winged creature to another place known to be in Arabia, which is false, and not a national historical identity. The builders of the Dome of the Rock didn’t claim Jerusalem was that location. Al Aqsa mosque was built many years later, long after Mohammed had died.
    Arabs began calling themselves “Palestinians”, after Israel was established. Zionist Jews had been called “Palestinians”, before 1948. The vast majority of Arabs in the land arrived during and because of Zionism. They rejected the word “Palestine” as a “Zionist invention”. They referred to the land as “Southern Syria”. There were 160,000 Muslims in the land, prior to Zionism. They were mostly imported by the Ottomans, to support the trans-Arabian railroad they’d built. They were from the lands outside of the territory that became Mandatory Palestine and not a cohesive people who anyone called “Palestinians”. They had no national identity, until the Ottoman Empire fell and modern nationalism, the end of imperialism and the rise of international bodies, such as the League of Nations, the predecessor of the United Nations, were established. Mandates established the independence of Arabs, alongside Jews. The Mandate of Palestine was for the establishment of the Jewish national homeland. The Mandates of Mesopotamia, Syria and Hejaz resulted several Arab states, including trans-Jordan, which was 77% of what was originally designated as part of the Mandate of Palestine, meaning, for the Jewish national homeland.

      13 Now Joshua was old, advanced in years. And the Lord said to him: “You are old, advanced in years, and there remains very much land yet to be possessed. 2 This is the land that yet remains: all the territory of the Philistines and all that of the Geshurites, 3 from Sihor, which is east of Egypt, as far as the border of Ekron northward (which is counted as Canaanite); the five lords of the Philistines-the Gazites, the Ashdodites, the Ashkelonites, the Gittites, and the Ekronites; also the Avites; 4 from the south, all the land of the Canaanites, and Mearah that belongs to the Sidonians as far as Aphek, to the border of the Amorites; 5 the land of the [a]Gebalites, and all Lebanon, toward the sunrise, from Baal Gad below Mount Hermon as far as the entrance to Hamath; 6 all the inhabitants of the mountains from Lebanon as far as the [b]Brook Misrephoth, and all the Sidonians-them I will drive out from before the children of Israel; only divide[c] it by lot to Israel as an inheritance, as I have commanded you. 7 Now therefore, divide this land as an inheritance to the nine tribes and half the tribe of Manasseh.”

      @@MattPhoneSucks The Almighty God of Abraham, Isaac & Jacob has spoken and promised to bring His people back to the land He promised to them. They will NOT be removed from the land ever again. Tough if you don't like it. Even the non-stop attempts to destroy Israel (post WW2) have only made it stronger and more capable.
      How is it that a tiny sliver of a nation can fight back and dramatically defeat its enemies who have incredibly superior numbers with the most modern weapons?? Its like Luxembourg drop-kicking Germany over and over and over and..........
      So how do you think this has happened over and over and over again and again? By their tiny population? Their 2nd rate weapons (until the 1980s)?? You don't want to admit the God of Creation is on their side that's obvious. But it doesn't matter what you think or like God's Will will be carried out, as He has deliberated demonstrated in war to the Israelites in the Old Testament.

    I'm glad you added that bit at the end. What people really need to understand when it comes to any ownership of anything is in fact two parts. 1. Can you make a legitimate claim. 2. Can you back up this assertion historically or by force. If the answer to either is no, the claim can not be considered valid. I used the excuse of Palestinian claims in the past to try to be reasonable, however after closer examination of history and especially in regards to the etymology of the name Palestine there is no legitimate claim. I would be just as likely to say I own New York state and have a claim to it as they do over a land they claim to own. In fact more so because this isn't the first time they tried this. In the book of Nehemiah the same thing was going on. Most are more likely to be descendants of Iranian, Jordanian, and Egyptian immigrants that were pumped in to try and push back against Great Britain. There is no such thing as Palestine other than on paper for practical purposes, they weren't a sovereign nation, the people that were Philestines were wiped out or dispersed, the area they occupied was granted to them by outside nations that had no legitimate claim to rulership of the area, and they can't even defend themselves without outside aid because no country actually acknowledges them as a separate sovereignty. That's like going to a negotiation with a shadow, it can't even establish its own personage.

    • @MrAlexDavid
      @MrAlexDavid 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The whole "Palestinian" conflict is simply a political tool. A continuation of the Israel-Arab wars after they lost every single one of them. They do not have any unifying tribal customs etc like it is with many other nations. However they do have customs from other Arab countries in the region.
      The easiest way to debunk their claims is their own surnames... Which indicate that most of them are from Jordan (with about 60% "Palestinian" population), some from Syria, Lebanon and Egypt...
      The problem is that after decades of lies the lies become somewhat indistinguishable from the truth (to those preaching the lies).

      @@SLavinia87 in 132 Hadrian builds a Roman colony there in Jerusalem. The announcement of his plan and the band on circumcision provoked a serious uprising, the Second Jewish revolt, led by Bar Kokhba. Over 1000 villages were destroyed and a half of million of people killed. In Judea virtually the Jewish people were literally exterminated except in Galilee, which like Samaria, appeared to survive the revolt.
      Tiberias in Galilee became the new seat of the Jewish patriarchs. The province of Judea was renamed “Syria Palaestina.” Later it was simply called “Palestine.”
      After that, no Jewish people were allowed in Jerusalem or the surrounding district. Later on the Jews were allowed to enter ONLY one day a year on “Tisha be Ava.” This band was still in affect in the 4th century CE. About the time of the Bar Kokhba revolt was crushed, in 135, Hadrian proceeded to convert Jerusalem into a Greco-Roman city, with a circus, amphitheater, baths, a theater and with streets conforming to a Roman grid pattern. He also erected a temple to Jupiter and to “himself” on the very site in which the destroyed Temple had stood.
      To re-populate the city he brought in Greco Syrians from the surrounding areas and many legionary veterans.
      The urbanization and Hellenization of Palestine was continued until emperor Septimius Severus (193-211 CE) except in Galilee, where the Jewish presence remained strong.
      After Constantine the first converted supposedly to Christianity in the 4th century, a new era of prosperity began for “Palestine.” The emperor himself built the site of the Holy Sepulcher, a sacred site for Christianity. His mother, Saint Helena, built two other sites. One called the place of the Nativity in Bethlehem and the other the Ascension in Jerusalem.
      Palestine began to attract pilgrims from all over the empire.
      Constantine then added the Southern half of Arabia to the province, but in 357-358 (or perhaps as late as the 390s) the addition was made a separate province under the name Palaestina or Salutaris. At the end of the 4th century, an enlarged Palestine was divided into three provinces.
      Much later the King of Persia, Khosrow II, Launched an invasion into the Byzantine Territory. His troops captured Jerusalem, in 614, and destroyed the churches etc. .
      In 628 the Byzantine Emperor Heraclius recovered Palestine, but 10 years later the Arab armies invaded both the Persian and the Byzantine Empires. I’ll stop here because it’s getting late in the evening. ✌️

That is why he renamed Israel Palestine. Did you know that the Roman government plowed in salt in the ground in Israel so that they could never grow anything there again. Hamites did eventually spread all through Africa and Japheth's, descendants spread all through the Middle East, and mixed all through the Middle East. You could say the same about the Hamites and Japheth's descendants, and Shemites.

    Hi! I absolutely LOVED this video! I’d like to mention something, if you don’t mind? The Romans didn’t actually rename Israel “Palestine”. They renamed it “Syria Palaestina” (135AD?). Also April 25, 1920 - May 14, 1948 it was called “British Mandate of Palestine”. It was actually never technically called “Palestine”. Archaeology has even shown us that during the Roman rule, when it was officially “Syria Palaestina”, neighbors like Egypt & Lebanon never actually referred to it as such lol. They continued to call it Israel. I always found that interesting.
    Anyway, I’m so happy I found your channel. I’m so excited to watch all your videos! VERY informative, fair & unbiased! 😊Thank you so much for sharing!🙏🙌🏼

    Palestinians are Jews in judea when Rome renamed itPalestina. The Arabs who now call themselves Palestinians are post 1890 immigrants from various Arab counties. They actually started calling themselves Palestinian after 1964. Indeed up until after 1967 War the conflict was called tha Arab Israeli conflict. You can’t find a newspaper before then which refers to Palestinians.

      David didn't make good decisions when he let hormones or emotions guide him. Absalom had to be killed because he would've nothing but trouble after David died. He already caused enough chaos with his brazen and evil actions, what would he have been like if David was not around?? He planned his own demise while thinking he was building his own fame and power.

    Earlier in the video you could stated that the Philistines were members of the sea peoples. The sea peoples are not descendants of ham. The sea peoples were attempting incursions all around the Mediterranean for centuries. The land of the Philistines, if they were sea peoples, was one of the few beachheads they got in that area. It has been my understanding also, that Palestine is a word known in the Middle East to mean the land of Bal. Stein and Stan in that area of the world means land. The p a l is a shortened version of Baal. And I get that directly from Middle Eastern Scholars. Not biblical Scholars. As the Bible, at least as far as the Mazurek text and bibles predicated on that text, are clearly in error. Maybe we have some changes going on there, I'd like to see it come out of the Septuagint from about 200 BC to see what it's observations are. But who knows whether anybody even understood who the sea peoples actually were. Or what the word Palestine actually means

    • @denisebremridge8329
      @denisebremridge8329 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The "Sea Peoples" must have come from the large island of Cyprus as well and could have been the aggressive MYCENEANS who also conquered the island of CRETE and dis-lodged the population of the MINOANS.
      I like your suggestion that the word "PALESTINE" could be derived from the pagan deity "Baal" +stin.
      The Greek Rulership did not refer to the Kingdom of JUDAH as "Philistia/Philistine". That name was reserved for the coastal territory occupied by the "sea people" only.
      The 70 Rabbis who were commissioned by the Greek Pharaoh PTOLEMY to translate the TORAH into GREEK had a problem with adapting VOWELS from the Greek alphabet which led to some mis-interpretation of words from HEBREW alphabet as there are NO VOWELS in the TORAH SCRIPT. Hence the SEPTUAGINT (GREEK ORTHODOX BIBLE) is not in perfect accordance with TORAH.
      This gave rise to the Latinised ROMAN VULGATE BIBLE and the result of the Romanised name of "PALESTINE" for all their occupied territory of Philistia, Judah, etc etc
      The irony is that "BAALestine" could be the earliest name for territory of "baal" worshippers.
      B became P

    Palestinians are SYRIANS. The whole country is SYRIA and was called "SYRIA PALESTINA" by the Romans. When the territories of Galilea, Samaria, Judea, and Idumea were annexed to the Roman Empire in the first Christian century they were NOT separate provinces but incorporated WITHIN the province of "Syria" under the governor of that province situated at the provincial capital of Antioch. "Palestine" is the geographical name of the country extending from the Orontes River in the north to the tip of the Sinai peninsula in the south; "Syria" is the ancient political name for it.

    David Rohl, the author of a series of books (including PHARAOHS AND KINGS and FROM EDEN TO EXILE), has developed a better chronology of the ancient world than the orthodox one, and he dates Akhenaten to the time of David, interpreting the figure 'Labayu' from the Tell El-Amarna letters as the biblical Saul. Rohl makes the case that Champollion misinterpreted the biblical pharaoh Shishak with Shoshenk the First, a false synchronism that led to Egyptologists mistakenly adding nearly three centuries to Egypt's chronology . . . so that, if we were to excise that excess time, Akhenaten's dates would not be in the 14th Century BC, but from 1023-to-1007 BC instead, contemporaneous with Saul and David.

      These are the generations of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Sons were born to them after the flood. The sons of Japheth: Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras. The sons of Gomer: Ashkenaz, Riphath, and Togarmah. The sons of Javan: Elishah, Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim. From these the coastland peoples spread in their lands, each with his own language, by their clans, in their nations. The sons of Ham: Cush, Egypt, Put, and Canaan. The sons of Cush: Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, and Sabteca. The sons of Raamah: Sheba and Dedan. Cush fathered Nimrod; he was the first on earth to be a mighty man. He was a mighty hunter before the Lord. Therefore it is said, “Like Nimrod a mighty hunter before the Lord.” The beginning of his kingdom was Babel, Erech, Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar. From that land he went into Assyria and built Nineveh, Rehoboth-Ir, Calah, and Resen between Nineveh and Calah; that is the great city. Egypt fathered Ludim, Anamim, Lehabim, Naphtuhim, Pathrusim, Casluhim (from whom the Philistines came), and Caphtorim. Canaan fathered Sidon his firstborn and Heth, and the Jebusites, the Amorites, the Girgashites, the Hivites, the Arkites, the Sinites, the Arvadites, the Zemarites, and the Hamathites. Afterward the clans of the Canaanites dispersed. And the territory of the Canaanites extended from Sidon in the direction of Gerar as far as Gaza, and in the direction of Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboiim, as far as Lasha. These are the sons of Ham, by their clans, their languages, their lands, and their nations. To Shem also, the father of all the children of Eber, the elder brother of Japheth, children were born. The sons of Shem: Elam, Asshur, Arpachshad, Lud, and Aram. The sons of Aram: Uz, Hul, Gether, and Mash. Arpachshad fathered Shelah; and Shelah fathered Eber. To Eber were born two sons: the name of the one was Peleg, for in his days the earth was divided, and his brother’s name was Joktan. Joktan fathered Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah, Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah, Obal, Abimael, Sheba, Ophir, Havilah, and Jobab; all these were the sons of Joktan. The territory in which they lived extended from Mesha in the direction of Sephar to the hill country of the east. These are the sons of Shem, by their clans, their languages, their lands, and their nations. These are the clans of the sons of Noah, according to their genealogies, in their nations, and from these the nations spread abroad on the earth after the flood.

      The Assyrians moved in people from regions well outside the Israel land. This was a common tactic they did to prevent uprisings in their conquered lands. Its no wonder the folks in Judea shunned them as they were foreigners and worshiped pagan gods. The area at the foot of Mt Hermon shows this in spades. Its like an epicenter for every perverted pagan deity cult/belief system.

The archeological and historical perspective is vital but placing alongside the biblical documentation brings greater clarity to the overall understanding in question. The letters you referred to that were found was an important find. I was unaware of these letters. It is so easily argued in our societies today that The Palestinians are rightful heirs of the land without examining the historical and archeological finds that the argument is reduced to an emotional claim in a vacuum. I also like the fact you have closed captions so I can know what you are saying....I cannot hear. Thank you for clarifying this question of land ownership for me.

    Perhaps it would be more accurate to admit that the Palestinians are the descendants of the people that the Romans did NOT exile from the land during their occupation of the area. You will remember that each time the Jews rebelled against their Roman occupiers, there were huge massacres, massive enslavements and any surviving Jews were forbidden, on pain of death, to return to the land. So for about 2000 years, the land belonged solely to people who were not Jewish.

    • @elpidiogonzalez8193

      Yes, the people of the "land" by 140s AD included descendants of Philistines, I have seen the name Goliath. Also those left from Greeks, now Romans, Arabs, and those Samaritans. Were there any Moabites, Ammonites, left? Probably mixed by now with Jews. The Lebanese descend from Canaanites. The Arabs conquered Jerusalem in 638 and allowed Jews in. But they were kicked out again by 1100 by the Christians. Saladdin allowed them back in. But numbers were very small until 1900. So in 3300 years, they occupied the land 1120-600, 200 BC-135 AD, abd only last 100. Hittites probably lived same amount of your there too. But they are not Canaanites, the Jews are. Their mother was a Canaanite: Tamar.

    Thank you for your excellent explanation with the caveat that much more has to be factored in for the clearest understanding. The founders of "modern Palestine," and the people presently labeled as such, are of various regional areas. Yasser Arafat himself was an Egyptian. The whole scenario has been a politically contrived entity made up of various regional misfits who's sole purpose is to sow discord and stir up opposition against the State of Israel. Peaceful solutions are not what's on the agenda of the vast majority of the powerful anti-Israel countries who surround her. Israel comprises only a very tiny part of the huge Middle Eastern nations, I think less than a precious few percentage, and the so-called Palistinians could easily be given a vast area in Saudi Arabia, for example, and it wouldn't even have to inconvenience the Saudis. A solution isn't wanted because the powers that be want these misfit people to be a thorn in Israel's side.

    • @Baltic_Hammer6162

      Exactly! Somewhere I saw a good analogy which compared the "Palestinian" claims to be like the entire USA wanting to claim New Jersey as "homeland". That's a good one and looking at a map of the Med and Near East doubly reinforces just how tiny Israel is compared to Arab/muslim lands. Its so minuscule it makes the claims of the Arab squatters real intentions transparent and shows they just want Jews to be destroyed, simple as that.

    They are mostly descendants of Arab settlers who arrived with the Arabian conquest of Jerusalem in the 6th century and 8th centuries.
    Palestinians and Jews share Canaanite DNA .Which may have been passed from Jews to Arabs during the Islamic conquests.

    No they are not. Palestenians are immigrants from other countries. Both the Canaanites and Jebusites are long gone.

    What is your opinion of the Book Of Jasher and Enoch? The Book of Jasher says that Shem and Melchizedek are one and the same

    • @bluefaery1865
      @bluefaery1865 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The book of Jasher has some out of sequence events that contradict the Biblical scriptures. It does " fill in the blanks " but, some events are out of order.

      From what I read in Jasher, I have found no contradictions. As a matter of fact I have found the opposite to be the case. To me it enhances and proves scripture and makes YHWH attributes even more astounding. Jesus Christ even alluded to Jasher

    tsedek = peace or righteousness Tzadok & Melchi = king i think that it is close to assume that Shem is Melchizedik? that He also defeated Nimrod and cut him to pieces and scattered the pieces so no one could worship them

    What is interesting to know is what the Romans called Israel before re naming her:
    For centuries they called JUDEA.
    Must been a good reason for that.

    • @milmal7336
      @milmal7336 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah there is a good reason, because that's what the countries name was. A long time ago There was a kingdom of Israel, King David was one of the kings. Then israel split into 2 different countries. 1 called Israel and 1 called Judah. Israel was conquered and ended and only Judah was left.
