While Leslie was innately loving and warm person, it was Ron who gradually changed himself a bit and opened up to her warmth and let their affection take a beautiful turn. Both are diametrically opposite and yet they could strike a wonderful friendship based on care and respect for each other. It's an elegant thing to watch.
It’s truly remarkable how this relationship stayed completely platonic but it was clear from early on that they loved each other and would support each other through pretty much anything - it sucked majorly that they became a little hostile in the last season but at least they reconciled quickly
Nah it doesn't really suck, friends fight, that's just a fact of life. When you have that negativity and the time away real friends (in healthy relationships) realize very quickly that the positives outweigh the fight. They're fictional characters of course but this is a very real experience for most people. Reconciliation between good people is such an amazing feeling.
Just to make it clear, 7 gauge steel is about 3/16 inch thick. It’s more common and I’m sure there are places to get 8 gauge. But to put in perspective, leather all is is a sort of spike or paper punch looking hand tool with multiple punches on a spindle you can use to make different size holes. Ron Swanson literally tried to punch a sheet of STEEL 3/16 of an inch thick with a leather punch as a middle schooler! It’s the little things he says that makes him the absurd epitome of a Man’s Man. Amazing.
This is how you write a friendship. I'm shipping these two so hard, but platonically. It never crossed my mind that they could start a romantic relationship but it was super obvious that if you intended to mess with one of them, you had to deal with both of them. And the last two or three scenes still get me.
Easily one of my favorite friendships in all of television. These two couldn't be more different from each other, yet it worked because they genuinely understood each others' differences.
You know most of these workplace comedies rely on an incompetent boss, which inherently makes them unlikable because they're also usually bad people, but this is just another reason Parks and Rec stands out from the herd and is my favorite because that's not Ron. While Ron and Leslie have opposing views the reason they are able to form such a tight bond is because they are both very passionate about the things and people they believe in and care about, including each other. Also this video makes me cry happy tears because this may be one of the most beautiful friendships ever put to tv, possibly rivaling her and Ann.
"Do whatever the hell you want, what do I care?" I have found that there is no polite way to say that to someone no matter how much you want to say it.
leslie and ron has to be one of the best tv friendships

Ron giving Leslie away is the only TV wedding I’ve cried.
Mine was April and Andy's wedding
Then you immediately get pissed at Jam and his stink bombs… then happy that Ron decked him!!
Didn't know Donna could sing like an angel lol
IRL she's a classically-trained opera singer I believe.

@@mi5anthropeBoth of you made a really good point
What a pure friendship. I hated it when they fought towards the end, but thankfully they made up in the best way, with saxophones and Billy Joel
Ron and Leslie’s friendship was probably the most important factor in the series. Loved that these two just stayed platonic friends

Awl, not all.
hands down the best tv friendship of all time

Ron and Leslie definitely have a big brother/little sister dynamic, and it's always been so sweet and wholesome 💕
My heart aches for this perfect duo
Watching these two characters reach each other halfway and finding middle ground is absolutely fascinating. I love this friendship.
"I'll take that steak to go, please and thank you." ❤️
Donna's casual incredible singing. Is there anything she CAN'T do?
I know!! As someone who has a degree in opera and is now in admin work, I adore Donna as a character.
I gotta hand to the creator Ron and Leslie relationship is beautiful
Yes, God is Amazing.
2:25 I love that episode. Ultimate troll Leslie.

Ron makes Leslie stronger and Leslie makes Ron softer. Opposites that make each other better human beings.
This show was and is absolutely wonderful, and this video highlights one of the many reasons why.
Ah, such lovely workplace proximity acquaintances.
@5:53 breaks my heart everytime
Same
ikr, in the *Federal* Government.
Tears to my eyes
I'm not crying. That's bacon grease and whiskey.
Don't be a stranger is one of my favorite sentiments
Their episode in the last season where they get locked inside a room - it always makes me cry
"Do whatever the hell you want, what do I care?" I have found that there is no polite way to say that to someone no matter how much you want to say it.
I cried, I cried again, and then I cries again
i have to say i got a more dad daughter vibe from both of them really but overall these two went through so much that it was loving
That was terrible ending for Ron. He obviously should’ve ended finally working at a Chuck E. Cheese😂
This is right up there with Wilson and House
Yin and Yang
I need an entire show on Ron's childhood.. like Young Sheldon to the Big Bang Theory
Now that’s a spin-off I could get behind.
I wish I had a boss like Ron Swanson
It’s more that just a mentorship. It’s a workplace associateship.
fastest 10min of my life
I really wish more right wingers and left wingers could be more like this.
Ron isn’t a right ringer?!?
He's a libertarian
And Leslie isn't a leftie. She's a democratic bureaucrat.
The end of this show always makes me so depressed.
In a way Leslie ruined Ron's life I'm just now realizing that
I love these select clips because I didn't watch the show because I can't stand the actors who played Tom and the mammy Donna.
1st!
1st to reply to this
I would say Ron got married so he wouldn't have to be around Leslie because she has become so crazy, and she needs to be committed.
Moments like this ruin the show.
