Same subwoofer just marketed with different names. It would have helped if they had a label on the woofer with the model number and version information
Just bought one of these and plan on hooking it up to my phoenix gold 500w @ 2 ohm mono amp. hopefully it still sounds good with 250w under rated rms lol
I have been researching which Sundown sub to get in replacement of my two 12's in my current setup, and after this video, I think I have found what to get!! My current sub setup is two Sony GS-Series 12" DVC 4ohm. Now some of you might say Sony is junk, and I completely agree, but I bought these subs 7 years ago on a tight budget, and was very surprised at the bass and SQ they gave out. They are considered Sony's top of the line subs, and have held up wonderfully. I run them in a sealed box, and have been using a Rockville DB13 Mono amp rated at 750RMS at 2ohms. These subs went from my E46 M3, to my current car, a 2017 GTI, and due to the big dual sub box that's in the GTI, I have decided to downgrade from dual 12"'s to a single 10". The hard part was trying to find a sub for my specific custom fiber glass side trunk box that's being made. Not because a 10" sub is hard to find that meets my box specifications, but more so trying to find a sub that is going to act as good, or better, as a single 10", than my two 12"'s bump. Sundown and JL Audio has always been on my mind, and after literal weeks and weeks of researching Sundown vs. JL Audio, and then settling on Sundown, and then trying to find which Sundown 10" sub I wanted to get that THEN fit my box specifications, I am glad I came across this video because it has solidified my desire to get this Sundown SA Classic sub, but in a 10" spec. I cannot wait for my build to be almost complete, and for me to have trunk space back again, while bumping better than my two 12" Sony GS's!!
I know it's late but I am concerned about the missing decals. Just bought one of these Classics and even messaged Sundown asking where my decal was because everything I put in my vehicles I advertise on the car someplace
I really like Sundown’s SA “Classic” 10”DVC2 sub linked to my Rockford Fosgate 1500 bdcp doin’ work! True, Clean, Power on this sub and it is surprisingly as awesome as they say!#Sundown🔊#RockfordFosgateAmps❤
I’d like to know myself. I just swapped my Rockford Fosgate R-2 500x1 to the RF Power series 1500 bdcp. I’m using my dual 10” Kicker Gold Comps temporarily with all the gain turned way down wondering about the RF 10” T1, Kicker L7, or Sundown SA “Classic” 10” dvc2?#🔊❤️@Somechine13
I bought 2 Sundown classic 12s on FB Marketplace. I'm happy with my subs but ive discovered recently that mine look different than the ones on line. Mine doesn't have the porthole in the middle and it only has 4 vents on the back. What does this mean?
Are these comparable to my Memphis M6 12 subwoofer.... I had some work done on my car after getting hit and didn't take the time to install everything correctly and blew one out...Thinking about going Team SunDown.... Upset because I payed over $450.00 for each sub.... going to to give the one I have left to my Fiance and I want to upgrade
YA WELL THE 10” don’t have BLACK MOTORS sad face :(...... They actually don’t have a single mark on them whatsoever to identify them by! Was a bit concerned, now I’m just confused Since I thought that was supposed to be the same across range....
@@BenaresDarkness I'm not saying the sub in the video is a V2, I'm saying the V2 has a bigger motor, these two should have the same size motor, but the classic is also bolted together. I guess I didn't read where you mentioned a fish eye lense, and thought you thought the rev 3 was a V2 and hence why you said the motor was bigger. Yeah its probably just the perspective or a lense making the rev 3 appear bigger to yah.
yea ive had an issue with that former cap. literally only complaint I ever had with the SA series
Yea it's a great concept but definitely a failure point.
The dust cap ?
@@FUCKDSS no its like a beveled chunk of metal that sits on the pole of the motor. The adhesive that holds them on tends to let loose
@@Maswan._. oh cool under high heat ?
Not sundown the best sub in the world!
So many people (like me) were confused on the difference between the v.1 and Rev.3 and v.2 and you helped clear that up!
I just got a sa 12 v2 d2 love it . No sticker damn it!
I just got 2 of these. Haven't really done much with them. But I am building a box right now
Haven't powered one up yet but since it's super similar to the sa rev3 I doubt anyone would be disappointed
@@AntonJMiller I am not disappointed. They sound amazing just free air. The bass is so crisp and clean

they do now! its bad ass
is one louder than each other?
Excellent video content topic of choice for discussion
thank you very much!

Hey man do you have any recommendations, I need 2 12” subs for a 2004 Toyota Corolla. And I’ve been doing lots of research just can’t decide
The newer ones are a Lil taller then the classic ones! I know, I have 2 old version and 4 newer ones, newer ones a Lil bit taller
I know it's late but I am concerned about the missing decals. Just bought one of these Classics and even messaged Sundown asking where my decal was because everything I put in my vehicles I advertise on the car someplace
How do these compare to skar evl 12s

I don't have experience with Memphis but you can't go wrong with sundown. Just take your time with the install and don't blow em up
Looks great awesome video
hey man what prefab box would you recommend for a SA 12 V2
What's the car?
@@AntonJMiller2002 s10 extended cab. i got a skar 2 12 prefab rn if u think its a good fit for them
That looks sooooooo clean!
Thanks for the video
Got 1 of these and it slams!!!
Did we ever find out if it does have that former on it?? Got me thinking now lol..
Never got a confirmation
You think this sub can handle the SAEv3 1000d?
Yes
Can u do a sa12 v2 comparison to a 12 u
absolutely, i think i have one filmed already got lots of footage
Y I cant get a video on the classic playing
Go watch any video on the same series that's like 3 years old or so. Same woofer
What kind of amp can I put on 2 sundown audio lcs 12 inch
About a 1k at 1 ohm
Gasket and possibly the basket looks different. Could just be the video tho.
Hell no I didnt get the first sticker and i purchased 3 of these babies.. well the 10 inch model

Sa classic is a line. I believe they only have 12" in that line.. you probably have an sav2 or v3 non classic
@@AntonJMiller just checked their website, they have 10" classics
@@imastruggle4661 yea they now have a 10" version super awesome!
The rev3 definitely has a little bit bigger motor not much but you can definitely tell unless you have fisheye lens going.
I think that's the SA12 v2 rev 1 that has a slightly bigger motor, and all new basket etc, the classic and rev 3 are almost the same
@@mattwells1036 Those are v1's the v2 has a completely different basket and bigger motor.
