    Congratulations guys 👍 major milestone. Suburban is badass 😎
    We did a lot of this stuff 30 years ago and I haven't been into it much in the last 20years. Thanks to you guys you've definitely gotten me motivated to work on my old projects again. Thank you. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do next. I haven't watched all of your older videos yet but did you do one on the transfer case ? I'm very interested in how that low range box works and costs? I've got the cases to do a 203/205 offroad doubler setup. I hadn't seen the one your using before. It amazes me how many kits and parts are available now that we had to build or hadn't even dreamed of back then . Thanks for showing your work and how your getting your numbers when you make anything. Your videos are very well put together and interesting 👍👍👍

    • @RecklessWrenchGarage
      @RecklessWrenchGarage  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you. Glad we could assist in bringing back some motivation.
      We did not make a video of the transfer case setup, we only have some pictures of it.
      Offroad Design makes the Magnum box we installed. It works like the 203/205 setup, but a different ratio and much lighter. The magnum runs right around $2k.

    What valve body are you using in the 700R4? It looked like when you were shifting that it was full manual and reverse pattern. Any info and tips would appreciated.

    • @RecklessWrenchGarage
      @RecklessWrenchGarage  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Good eye. It’s the tci-376015 (reverse manual valve body w/ full engine braking)
      The only suggestion I have; don’t put the gold spring in-use the silver spring with the washer. The gold spring makes for very hard shifting.

    Had to come back to this video. I'm getting to the point of swapping in my np205 and soon ordering a driveshaft. I was wondering what t case rear output drive flange you have and where you got it. I noticed offroad design flanges were only 3" and 3 1/2" bolt circles, Thanks

    • @RecklessWrenchGarage
      @RecklessWrenchGarage  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have the one from offroad design. They measure horizontally rather than diagonally. It’s 4.25” and 3.75” with a 2” pilot.

    You guys are the shit. What are your thoughts of a 4 link rear end with bags for towing? 08 Silverado 2500 6.6 hd. Thoughts, concerns, considerations?

    • @RecklessWrenchGarage
      @RecklessWrenchGarage  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on how much weight you are trying to pull with that setup. Relying solely on bags can be risky if you’re going on a long trip. Having an extra bag just in case wouldn’t hurt. Of course, if you consider how semis are built, they just use bags, but they’re not the typical kind you’d put on a light duty vehicle. Overall, I’d say a parallel 4 link with coils, shocks, and assisted with bags would be a solid start. I’d recommend looking for more info from someone who has experience setting up suspension for tow vehicles though. My thoughts are based on info I found in the past while considering a similar setup.

    What gearing do you guys run in the suburban. I have same Dana 70 and the humvee wheels but my blazer is just a dog and it has a built 454.

    • @RecklessWrenchGarage
      @RecklessWrenchGarage  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We have 4.56 gears in the axles. The gears and lack of weight really helped compared to the old setup. The 10 bolt axles had 3.42 gears. It would move decent, but I couldn’t spin the tires.

    Awesome job guys, I just got done with an sm465 and np205 transfer case swap in my 88 burban....motor quit on me a month later and now I'm gonna drop a chevy 8.1 in it.....got any tips on how to integrate the harness for the motor into the factory harness under the hood or what did you do with the 6.0 you installed

    • @RecklessWrenchGarage
      @RecklessWrenchGarage  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I still have the harness for the headlights, the rest is gone. You only need 2 or 3 wires going to the bulkhead connector.
      I routed the engine harness through the hole the factory engine harness went through and put the ECU and fuse block where the factory ECU mounts.
      Once you figure out what you want to keep from the factory harness, you can see what you need to do to integrate it.
      I’d suggest checking out the LS swapped squarebodies page on Facebook. There is tons of info in their files section.

      RecklessWrenchGarage awesome thank you.....I've been thinking about trying to make my suspension softer cause she rides like a brick lol how much different was it with the coils instead of leafs

    • @RecklessWrenchGarage
      @RecklessWrenchGarage  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      So far, there’s a huge difference in the ride. Just the ride around the neighborhood was quite smooth, whereas it was very bumpy on leafs before.

    Why do those tires look like roller skates under that thing??? Those aren't small tires but they look so tiny... Go for some LMTV tires.

    • @RecklessWrenchGarage
      @RecklessWrenchGarage  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Because of the height and cut arches, the 37s look small.
      Larger tires are on the way.

    • @RecklessWrenchGarage
      @RecklessWrenchGarage  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No. The exhaust currently ends under the driver seat so it’s quite loud. While I know we were a bit obnoxious during the drive, I try to be as respectful as I can while driving in the neighborhood.
      Also because I’m getting used to the new setup, seat wasn’t bolted down, and I was having difficulties seeing over the steering wheel, driving between the vehicles on both sides of the road was a little unsettling. 😂

      Sergio sergios rear axle is a lincoln locker ie welded diff so no variation in the inside to outside wheel speed causing inner wheel to screech

    • @RecklessWrenchGarage
      @RecklessWrenchGarage  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Street N Jeep is correct. Both rear wheels are turning at the same speed. Installing a spool/mini spool would cause the same thing. It’s really the only downside to this setup.
