"I have a tendency to like do meaningless little tasks when the important task is like staring me in the face" Cut to me watching this and repairing a shirt instead of doing my sink of dirty dishes that I've been putting off all night...
I only ever do physical to do lists so that I’m not tied to my phone constantly but the downside is I’ll never be able to see a year in review like this one for my productivity. This was such a fun video! Thanks for sharing :) the nerd in me honours the nerd in you 🤓🙏🏽
I loved this video! But was anyone else mesmerized by that "most productive day of the year" golf ball animation? I had to watch that segment a few times before I was able to concentrate on what she was saying. :D
I loooove these videos and I am so happy about this channel too 😂I tried using todoist (or any other task/planning app really ) but it just give me anxiety and I have yet to find the perfect method I actually enjoy and find motivating rather than scaring. I'm trying a very relaxed and chilled journaling style which for now it's working but I wanted something digital because I need little reminders whenever I'm procrastinating too much or slacking off. Anyway, love you :)
I often have a similar problem with rigid to do lists and my anxiety. A method that works for me is to list everything that needs doing eventually (so that I'm not worrying about forgetting things, and I use google tasks for this) and then have a time of day that I start productive things (9-10:30am) and when I finish up for the day (3:30-6pm). During my productive time, I just do whatever tasks I feel like doing - some days I'm in a mood where I want to get lots of little things like phonecalls and paperwork ticked off and out of the way and other days I will get stuck into a particular university project that I'm feeling inspired to work on. I find this method gives me enough structure to be motivated, but not so much structure that I'm scared to fail. It's a good combination for me at least :)
@@morehannah i would love to see how you set up your ipad for success. what apps do you use and to accomplish what? things like that. Digital organization is still organization and i love it!
I started using Todoist in June and now it entirely runs my life. Get the premium version!! It is so great!! And don't you want to support a service that's integral to your workflow?
@@morehannah reminders, labels, comments w/file uploads... but my favourite premium feature is filters, I use them to group projects together so I have a 'work plan' and a 'personal plan', also ones for tasks without due dates, just p1 and p2 tasks, fast tasks (I have labels for 1m, 5m, 15m, 30m & 1h). Probably have spent DAYS configuring it which I guess is unproductive but it's so organized and colour coded now!
I installed Todoist after watching this video a few weeks ago and I just wanted to say how great it is! It's so much easier to use and more intuitive than the to-do app I was using before, so I put a lot more stuff on it! It's much easier to organise the things and the recurring tasks functions are great (especially for things like scheduling tidying time on a weekly basis and backing up my PC every six months). Thanks for the recommendation Hannah, it's really decreased my anxiety and increased my workflow!
More Hannah is my new favorite channel :D I just downloaded the todoist app because this video sold me on it ^^. Previously I've used a bullet journal and an app called ATracker. ATracker is more of a time management app that tracks how long you spend doing different things each day. I really like it but I think todoist will compliment ATracker well. :)
With past tasks, if something is in a project, you can click on the three dots in the top corner and then select the last option (show completed tasks). This then shows all the tasks in that project that you’ve ticked off, with the text in strikethrough 😊
I would love to hear your thoughts on the concept of productivity in general, I feel like it's valued so much in our society and personally, I feel pressured by it.. what does productivity mean to you?
Hannah, would you mind sharing one of your productive days with us? Literally describing your activities one by one with the time frame of how much time it took you to do it. I have become a lot more productive than I was just a year ago but I still struggle with procrastination a lot more than I would want to. Drawing inspiration from your experience would be great for the whole community :)
I use Wunderlist! It doesn't have a paid version (which I like) It doesn't do reports like this but I can see all my previous completed tasks for all the years I've been using it. And it syncs to my phone, computer and email. I don't know where I'd be without it!!
I love that I watched this, remembered that Todoist didnt really work for me... and then saw your 5% and was like "maybe i could compete with that" :P I love the Daylio year in review, and I use ticktick for my todo list as I need it to have a good clean android phone widget.
I loved the video! I've only used Todoist for a little while but I'm completely hooked. The best feature (which is on the premium version, unfortunately) is integration with Google calendar. I can write my to-do's either in Todoist or straight to my calendar and they will show up in both. LOVE it!! I'm a student so I get the discount which is great as well.
I use tasks on Google Calendar. That way it's all in one app, both my to dos and my appointments. If you don't cross them out they roll over to the next day. Love it
Have I just downloaded todoist again after not using it for years (so I haven't used it since 2017....) now that it looks nicer, syncs with the website, and has this year in review feature? yes, yes I have. Also finally ticked off some small tasks I'd been needing to do!
Thank you so much! I was looking for a good app that specifically does this. You should try and get a sponsorship cos i downloaded the app and love it! Love your videos xx
I’d love to use an app like this and used to try to when I worked but now my life is so boring that it would just say things like walk down and up to driveway, have a nap, take my meds, get son to bed, eat a snack, make business Instagram post. Wow. So fun. 😂
I LOVE this kind of content! My to do lists are mostly on paper because my bullet journal is my life and I find having something off screen gives my eyes a rest every now and then 😂 but I do translate this list into digital sometimes so it's more accessible but I just use notes app Evernote rather than a specific 'to do' list app so I think I'll give to do ist a go 😁😁
i would love a video on the ipad (shopping around, deciding what was best etc) im hopefully doing my teaching degree next year and debating getting one as a treat/would be easier to do work travelling
I always use a physical to do list for tasks and productivity but I log all the films I watch on letterboxd.com (which is like good reads for films) and they give a year in review which is so interesting!
I loved this so much! I also love organization and i am such a stan for this type of content! This new channel is honestly amazing💛 I had previously tried to use Todoist, but never actually sticked to it. You gave me the motivation to try it again!
This was so cool Hanna. I use a bullet journal but I think I need to start tracking my habits especially like this . (I’m so bad at keeping up with it in my journal) I’d love to be able to look back like this. I relate so hard to your time/date triggers and patterns hahaha.
I dunno if to-do ist would make a good habit tracker because with the free version you can’t see past tasks. I’ve heard Tick Tick is good but haven’t used it myself
I gotta pause my homework to watch, which isn’t productive haha, but I just love your videos that much!! ❤️ I feel that this year and 2019 have been productive for me, and I hope to keep it going
I tried with todoist a couple of times but it didn't quite work for me. I essentially use a paper version - a six column list book which makes it easy to see a spread of the week and move stuff to the next day so I think todoist will work for me eventually once I have the right routine to keep it updated. Congrats on a productive year!
This is a wonderful thing to watch, I love statistics! I use the Habitica app and does not have this statistics feature yet. But I would love to know how productive I was based on it.
This is one of my favorite videos that you have ever filmed, for this channel or your original channel. And that is saying something, I love so many of your videos.
I know how you can see completed tasks with the free version! Go to inbox and then the menu you can choose "show completed tasks" (or smth like that, mine is in Dutch). You'll need to scroll a looong way though to get to April haha. But I like it bc sometimes it is nice to see what you've ticked off :) I love todoist!
Man, I guess I have to check out todoist now. Really struggle to get to the high priority tasks in may day to day and it seems like that app could really help.
Just updated my mac to the latest Catalina upgrade and now it doesn't work on my Iphone so will be transferring all of my reminders to Todoist! Thanks for introducing me
Hannah I am so with you my todo list is broken into Important and urgent quadrants but 95% or everything I write down goes in a important and urgent, so do it now 🤷🏻♂️
i don't have nearly as much data as this, but you can tell the months at uni i was least productive (and most depressed) by my average monthly step count. staying at home instead of walking to uni = no work done haha
I am here for it! I like the videos you post on this channel, maybe even more than on the other one. Glad you made it. I use Google Keep for my notes and to-dos :)
I've used todoist for a while but not very productively, but about 4 days ago I got really into using it again as I found out you can share the "projects" with other people so me and my partner now have several shared lists for various things we need to do and can both see and update it! Before we were using telegram to send a shared to do list to each other but only the person who wrote it could edit it so that wasn't very helpful!
Only doing smaller tasks and leaving the big important ones for later? That's my specialty too :'D Thank you for sharing this app with us Hannah, I got it after you talked about it in a different video and it has helped me a lot in being more productive! :D

Goodreads!
