Hey Kim, just saw this and thought is Kim going to make me today on another video and 😆 yes I laughed several times and you are watching a Star Wars movie but you made it more enjoyable. You always know how to brighten up a day and that's why I have been watching you and your videos lately Thank You and Take Care as always and have a beautiful week and until your next new video Kim, May the Force Always be with You Forevermore, Friend. 🎮🎮😆🎮🎮
Yes. While it WILL create "spoilers" for the Prequels, that IS how we experienced them growing up, and as much as George Lucas wants the story told in timeline order, the Original Trilogy should be watched in it's completion first. From there, THEN you watch everything in chronological order. Episode I, Episode II, The Clone Wars (animated series), Episode III, Solo, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Andor, Rebels (animated series), Rogue One, Episode IV, Episode V, Episode VI, The Mandalorian (seasons 1 & 2), The Book of Boba Fett, The Mandalorian (season 3), Ahsoka (which should be out by the time you get this far), Episode VII, Episode VIII, Episode IX. And yes, watch the Sequel Trilogy, and make up your own mind about them. They've grown on me over the years.... but I admit, I wasn't very impressed with them on first watch.

To clarify, no the Emperor and Vader are not Jedi, but they can use the Force. Jedi is actually a group of people who follow specific teachings about the Force. Teachings that the Emperor and Vader "disagree" with (to put it mildly). You'll find out more about them in the prequels.

@@sirmalak Vader _wasn't_ like that at the start of the movie -- and then he changed. Now that Kim has seen _Return of the Jedi_ I can say this without spoiling it: this is the beginning of the redemption arc that ends with Vader killing the Emperor.
The "officers who let it happen" didn't let it happen. Literally not 1 part of the bridge crew was to blame. As far as I can tell, they did everything in their power to make Vader's plan work. The trap Vader himself had set was played out perfectly. Luke was a second away from getting the Han Solo treatment. In the time it took Vader to turn his head and flip the switch, Luke was leaping right back out of that carbon freezer. That should have been the end of the movie, right there. Remember, Lando had the Falcon's hyperdrive repaired. And at some point after that, the Imperials went aboard and deactivated it. And they deactivated it for this very reason. So that if Luke somehow managed to get out of Vader's trap, Vader could simply scoop up the Falcon once they picked up Luke, send in a boarding party, and capture everyone all over again with a bunch of stun blasts. The 1 thing that no one could have accounted for was someone being on the Falcon looking at the hyperdrive in the whole commotion and recognising the difference between it not working and it being turned off.
Hoth was filmed largely on a glacier in Norway. When a blizzard set in, the shot of Luke collapsing in the snow was filmed from the front doorway of their hotel - visibility during the storm was that poor so they got away with it.
Mark Hamill was in a bad car accident between the first movie and this one and smashed up his face pretty good. It has never been confirmed but the rumor is they added the scene with the Wampa attacking Luke to explain why his face looked a little different. If you compare his face to the first movie you can see the difference. It is not huge but definitely is noticeable.
I’m barely 10 minutes in, and I’m so impressed with how analytical you are with this movie. You’re very quick to pick up in the fact that Leia is the kind of character that would struggle to be open about her feelings, she’s young and running a rebellion, relationships are probably not in her wheelhouse. Same thing with Han being irritated with her, but then also being stressed about his bounty, then he hears about Luke, and gets more stressed. It’s awesome that you’re giving it so much thought, it shows that you’re actually invested in the universe.
I think the truth really is Leia had a thing for Chewbacca. After all, Han promises to arrange for her to kiss a Wookie, and Chewie is the only one available. Maybe Chewie is a really good kisser.
It's because she's intelligent. You can tell from the analysis and editing. The real skill of a magic trick isn't the mechanics, it's the misdirection. The blonde bombshell makeup and over the top personality create an entertaining performance to house the theorizing and attention to detail. A lot of people can watch a movie, pay attention, and tell you what happened. Making it entertaining is the skill.
The 'look' Luke and Han shared at the start: just Big Brother seeing his little sibling heading off on his own. Without having to spell it out, you can tell they really care for each other.
I've watched a lot of Star Wars reactions but you... you are something special. I haven't had this much fun watching a reaction in a long time. Your way of doing this is very good. I so look forward to watch your reaction to episode 6.
it was probabley intended as in an inside joke. Although on the other hand, it could be in refernce to how the settlers who founded them named an icy cold desoate place Greenland and the nice beautfiul warmer island nation s as Iceland.
You noted the offscreen development everyone’s undergone. Star Wars was fashioned off of the sci fi adventure serials that George Lucas watched in his youth. Back then, if you missed an episode, that was it, as there was no recording or reruns (and in some cases this was permanent, as film stock was expensive, and the tapes would get wiped for reuse). Lucas wanted to recreate the feeling of walking into the middle of an ongoing story having missed last week’s episode, with only a brief recap to fill you in. And it’s these gaps that have proven fertile ground for the tv shows, comics and novels to explore. But of course, the serial format means that we’re left on a dastardly cliffhanger! Will our band of heroes ever find Han? Will Luke fall prey to the same temptations that led his father astray? Will Kim encounter a Star Wars character that she’s incapable of simping for? Tune in next week to find out! Same Star time! Same Wars Channel!
I think the mix order she was referring to was the Machete Order, and although I prefer the release order for first time viewing, the Machete Order is a legit order in giving the same story, but from a different perspective sorta. I did see someone react in numerical order though and it was actually better than I though it would be seeing someone do it that way. Same story, but different viewing experience. There's still spoilers, but they're revealed in different spots from the original spoiler reveals and lowkey still work...
I love how insightful you are with these movies. Noticing things like Vader torturing Han only to get Luke to sense it and come to Cloud City to be the hero. Or making the connection that Yoda was testing Luke right before Yoda drops the act. You also have some very fun theories about the characters and where the story might go. Btw, yes it was indeed a pressurized meditation chamber that Vader was sitting in. It imitates the pressure his suit generates and thus allows him to take off his mask and breath without the constant noice the pressurized helmet makes. It is the same voice actor for Vader, James Earl Jones. The way his voice got modulated simply was more refined in this movie, lending a more crisp voice with a deeper bass than in ANH. This time the lightsaber duel is much more engaging because they changed how they created the lightsaber effect. Instead using a spinning rod attached to the saber habdles which was covered with reflective material to give off a glow through the camera lense, they used metal rods which were quite literally cut out of the film. The sfx artists then proceeded to shine a light behind the film which made the cut out area glow white. Afterwards the same rotoscoping technique was used as in A New Hope to give the lightsabers their colours. This allowed for more durable and more easily replacable lightsaber fighting props, and yes the actors did indeed break the lightsaber props on occasion during the fight choreography.
The way you accurately predict and theorise on stuff that is about to happen during your first time watching is incredible. I've also never in my life witnessed someone simp for every character, that's impressive in a whole other way. 😂 Can't wait for Episode VI, then prequels, then sequels and much more. ❤
44:47 is my favorite part of this reaction, I knew you would get a kick out of "I know" hahaha! Also I think its so cool that you take the time to pause and talk to the audience about exactly what you're thinking, I appreciate and enjoy hearing your inner monologue 😆
I enjoy your reactions so far :) Regarding the cave scene, when Luke asks "What will I find?", Yoda answers "Only what you take with you". The cave is strong in the Dark Side of the Force and basically it shows Luke a few things: 1. It shows him what obsesses him (his hatred for Darth Vader) 2. After he decapitates Vader in his vision, it shows him that lashing out in hatred and anger will turn him into what he hates the most and cause him to fall to the Dark Side 3. It foreshadows the relation between Luke and Vader. Another point I wish to make : Not enough credit is given to Vader's understanding and mastery of the Force. When Luke had a vision of Han and Leia's misfortunes on Bespin, it was the future he saw. Vader purposefully made Han and Leia suffer, going as far as torturing Han to use them as bait to draw Luke to him. This means he knew, as a Force user, that due to their relationship, their suffering would cause a ripple in the Force that Luke would sense in the past and come to rescue them. Hence Obi Wan saying "It is you and your abilities the Emperor wants. That's why your friends are made to suffer." Vader had the mindfulness and understanding of how the Force works to plan actions that would have effects in the past and shape the present to his designs. This is also why Obi-Wan and Yoda told him not to go (not play into Vader's hand), and the story proves them right : Luke does not help Leia and the gang at all. They escape all on their own. On the contrary, they end up having to rescue *him*.
When you do get to the sequels, please go into them with an open mind and don’t let anyone in the comments pressure you to feel one way or the other about them
An open mind is good, but when the writers and directors say that they had no idea what they were doing... a little bit of skepticism is not unhealthy.
Minute 39, where Threepio meets his "silver buddy" as you called him: No, they're droids, which are manufactured the same way cars are, in large numbers. It's the same as parking your car, only to realise the car next to you is the same model.

0:13:50 That's Wedge Antilles, the only minor character to appear in all three films of the original trilogy. He did try to attack the death star in the first film, but he didn't die and he saves Luke at one point. He's in the second X-wing flying away from the explosion with Luke and Han. The "I can hold it" guy is a different guy and he did die.
@@mckenzie.latham91 Not unless Disney canon has changed the names. I heard his name was Jek Porkins. I remember the old EU had Hobbie living past the original trilogy
@heroicbob - That's not Wedge Antilles(played by Denis Lawson), that's Zev Senesca, played by Christopher Malcolm(who would go on to play Kirk Matunas in *_HIGHLANDER_* ). @mckenzie.latham91 - The guy who died at the first death star battle was Jek Porkins, played by William Hootkins, who would go on to play Major Eaton in *_Raiders Of The Lost Ark_* ("top men"), and Lieutenant Eckhardt in *_Batman_* ('89). Vader vs Luke is my favorite lightsaber duel! Luke thinks Vader killed his dad, because that's what Obi-Wan told him. When Vader cuts off Luke's hand and says the iconic line: "No, I am your father!" It was a huge shocker back in 1980. I was only 3 years old at the time of it's release(I'm 46, but I'm thinking I'm still older than you.) so I saw A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back and Return Of The Jedi on VHS as a older child. Kim, you never having seen the "originals" until now(even though you seem to know that Vader is Luke's dad before you saw The Empire Strike) I love your reactions! You are simping for Han and Luke so much! I love it! You are experiencing these for the first time as an adult! That must be so amazing. I was a child having watched these, and tried to understand what about the Jedi and them having used the Force made it and them so special. Obi-Wan and Yoda having been Jedi; their whole order was killed some 20 years earlier during what was called "Order 66". But you'll have to wait until you watch Episode 3:Revenge Of The Sith to see that, but start with Episode 1: The Phantom Menace, and Episode 2: Attack Of the Clones after that, then watch Episode 3. You'll see what the Jedi Order was all about and their roles in "The Clone War". Great job with editing and I like all your comments too!
I really love your intros, they really are different than what other movie reactor does. Keep it up with your personnal touch, I really enjoy revisiting those movies with you :)
James Earl Jones was the voice of Darth Vader for all 3 films. In Star Wars, he’s louder, more aggressive. Here, in “Empire”, Jones does tone it down a bit, but he is written to be unpredictable, more dangerous, and the fact he’s “quieter” for lack of a better term actually makes him more menacing. A great villain usually never is completely crazy and unhinged. Once you show them your top, you’ve got no place else to go. Vader feels more dangerous in this one. Plus, the sound quality is better in this film, so his voice is clearer. The darker cinematography also enhances the bleaker tone of this film. Also, people have noticed Mark Hamill’s face looks different from the first one. The scars are real. After Star Wars cane out, he was in a bad car accident and needed facial reconstruction surgery. So they made the Yeti scene to explain the scars!
Empire is not only the best Star Wars film, it is arguably the best sequel ever made! I love how excited you are to watch the rest of Star Wars! Enjoy Kim!
The best movie of the saga, and the one with the fewest/best edits for the 1997-2012 "Special Editions" The Hoth scenes were filmed near Trondheim, Norway. In fact, the scene where Luke sees Ben's ghost was right outside their hotel in a blizzard. Members of the Norwegian Home Guard were extras in the Battle for Hoth. The wampa attack was written in to explain Mark Hamill's facial reconstructive surgery he had following a car crash. The Emperor and Vader aren't Jedi, they're Sith. You'll learn more about them in the Prequels. One of the better Special Edition changes was removing walls to make Cloud City look less cramped. Harrison Ford ad libbed "I know" because his original line didn't seem to fit Han's character. The only people who knew about The Big Reveal™️ before release were George Lucas, director Irvin Kerschner, screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan, Mark Hamill, and Vader voice actor James Earl Jones.
Some slight corrections; Finse, where the Hoth scenes were filmed, is in Western Norway, not near Trondheim. Finse is far closer to Bergen. And the extras were mountain rescue skiers. It is possible there were members of the Homeguard, but they would not have been extras in their capacity as such, but rather of the Norwegian Red Cross, but some were just hired extras.
The actor who plays Luke had had a bad car crash after the first movie so the snow beast ( wompa ) scene was put in to explain the scars on mark’s face…. Also in the old books the one armed snow beast does pop up again 😊
This was too funny! 😄 It's funny to see someone watch these for the first time. I can't wait to get your view on the full saga (Ep 1-3 + Rogue One + Ep 4-6).
LOL I like how you referred to Han's reward as "gold", it makes me think those boxes contained pirate treasure. And OMG! I'd never heard the theory that the silver droid at Cloud City was the same one at the beginning of A New Hope! I dig it.
my sleepy brain has been looking for a stopping point so I can be awake for the rest of this. "you're lucky he doesn't gonna beat your ass" feels like a perfect point to find some dreams.
You should totally react to some of the behind-the-scene stuff as well! It's incredible how these movies were made. We wouldn't have a lot of technology in the film industry today without these films. They broke so much new ground.
When Han Solo says "I Know" George Lucas actually had him say "I love you too" but after several takes the line just didn't fit right. He told Harrison Ford to just come up with anything that he felt Han Solo might say in that moment and on the next take that where we famous "I know" line came.
I was 13 Years old in 1977 when I saw the Original Star wars in 1977 and 16 Years old in 1980 when I saw The Empire Strikes Back in 1980. It was amazing seeing it in the Movie Theatre and everyone gasped when Darth Vader told Luke who he was, In the scene where Han Solo says I know to Princess Leia after she said I Love You was improvised. Han was supposed to Say He Loved her back. Harrison ford when he tried several unsuccessful takes just said I know during a Take. they kept filming. Afterwards Harrison ford explained to George Lucas that I know would be something Han would say. George Lucas agreed. he let them improvise as needed.
This is the most fun I've had watching a reaction or even revisiting these movies in forever! Keep simping and having fun cause I 👏 am 👏 here 👏 for 👏 it! Also your edits are fire! Can't wait to see more!
Once again, I enjoyed your take on doing a reaction. You've continued to understand and get the series as it was. As a Gen-Xer who grew up watching these films, starting with the A New Hope, in 1977 in the theaters as a young kid, I'm glad that you're experiencing this odyssey as we did...in theatrical release order. With that said, don't let the detractors shy you away from The Sequel Trilogy. Be as open-minded as a Jedi, and judge it for yourself. You've started this journey, and in doing so don't rob yourself of seeing it to it's conclusion. Some people are strongly against it. I, for one, hope that that you finish it. This Trilogy, followed by the Prequels, and then the Sequels (with the stand-alones mixed in), should all be part of your viewing so as to complete the journey into the theatrical releases of the Skywalker Saga. After that, as I mentioned in my prior review, don't forget to swing back into the Animated and Live-Action series that help fill in the stories, add context, and continue to evolve this lush galaxy. Keep up the great work. I look forward to your review of Return of the Jedi...and beyond.
@@Slashycent , as mentioned on multiple occasions, she's already committed to watching the series in theatrical release order. The Real question mark is if she would follow up the Prequels with the Sequels.
OK, Ok, Ok, Kim.. I've watched your reaction to Ep 4 and now Empire. You've got me entertained. Sub'd. I love your energy. I know these movies, books, comics, animated series, and games from thousands of years before this time period and many years after, quite intimately. You're in for a hell of a ride and I look forward to watching and joining you as you go on this journey.
6:14 Not everyone can be as smooth with the ladies as Garrus Vakarian You might as well watch the sequels, too. I reject them because I prefer the previous canon established by the books, but otherwise I don't think the sequels are any worse than the prequels. That's...an unpopular opinion😅
Who attacked first in the duel? “A Jedi uses the Force for knowledge and defense, never for attack.” The little pieces laid out in Star Wars are so wonderful. It’s not often straight forward, and let’s the viewer draw their own meaning. Cheers and may the Force be with you… always.
Ya Kim…in 1980 this was one of if not the first “cliff hanger” ever in Cinema. Needless to say, we were all pissed and felt ripped off…lol…only because we knew we had several years until Return of the Jedi was a thing
when people discuss the development of Han and Leia's relationship, they often forget the age difference between them.on one side we have a mature man and on the other - a really young woman.this has a considerable influence on her behavior, along with everything else: commitment to rebellion, aristocratic origin, and so on.
Darth Vader is a complex character. It is clear that you really appreciate the Vader / Anakin duality that his introduction to Luke has awakened. It is your understanding of Vader's depth that makes me excited to watch your reactions to the Prequel Trilogy.
14:13 - that is Wedge Antilles. He was Luke's wingman in the Death Star run. His fighter was damaged and he had exit the trench, and Vader orders his wingmen to let him go, so he survives despite the damage to his fighter. Wedge was Red Two to Luke's Red Five. Red Leader had tried to kill the Death Star on the prior run and crashed into it when his engines were shot up. Wedge is actually one of Luke's best friends at this point, as one of very few pilots who survived the battle. In universe, he is one of the best X-Wing pilots in the Rebellion.
I was in middle school when this came out. My dad took off work and called the school and said that I wouldn't be in so that we could see this on opening day, one short week after Mt. St. Helen's erupted. We had to wait three years for the conclusion in which both Dad and I played hooky once more. Get your Kleenex for Return of the Jedi.
Between eps 4 and 5, Mark Hamill was in a movie called Corvette Summer, during the filming of which he was in a car crash that caused some lacerations on his face. The Wampa attack was used partly as an explanation for the permanent scarring on his cheek.
Please please please don't let the salty elitists stop you enjoying the sequels. You obviously enjoy the fun and adventure (and hot characters 😂) in these movies, and none of that changes in 7, 8 & 9, so make your own decision!
Wow, you are an amazing and passionate person! This was an exciting reaction to Empire and probably the closest thing to seeing it on day one. I would love to have a friend like you who appreciates great storytelling no matter the genre.💙
Just a little trivia. The scene after Luke gets away from the snow creature with him stumbling in the blizzard was actually shot outside the hotel the cast and crew were staying at. That was an actual blizzard, the biggest one in years where they were. I want to say it was Norway, but I could be off on that. The crew were at the backdoor warm in the hotel while Mark was doing his performance in the snow
Amazing reaction and funny editing as always, I'm so glad you've been enjoying Star Wars so much! 😄 And I'm so happy to hear you'll be watching the Indiana Jones movies after these! I love those movies, I'm so excited!

Theres a fantastic page of a star wars comic, where Vader finds out the name of the jedi who works with the rebels, and he like shatters everything around him with the force, and then there is a silent moment and he says under his breath "I have a son:"
Great reaction Kim...looking forward to your reaction to Star Wars Episode VI: Return Of The Jedi 😉 Fun Movie Triva Fact - Dennis Lawson (the actor who played fighter pilot Wedge in all 3 of the original Star Wars trilogy - IV, V & VI) is the real life uncle of actor Ewan McGregor (who plays young Obi-Wan Kenobi in SW episodes I, II & III) 😁
So apparently the Space Yeti capture was written in to cover for the fact that Mark Hamill had been in a vehicle accident that scarred his face before production began. But if he narrowly escapes a Space Yeti, nobody's going to question Luke's scars.
If no one said it already, the actor in the Darth Vader suit is 6'6" British actor David Prowse who died in 2020 while the voice is American actor James Earl Jones.

This may smell bad, kid, but it’ll keep you warm until I can call room service.
@@0okamino lol
They were behind schedule and desperate to get any filming done that they could. So they seized an opportunity.
Apparently that is true, yes. It's what I heard as well.
This has been debunked by Mark Hamil himself.
Not to mention the incessant yammering from Threepio...
Not just combat buddies anymore, but friends.
I've watched a lot of Star Wars reactions but you... you are something special. I haven't had this much fun watching a reaction in a long time. Your way of doing this is very good. I so look forward to watch your reaction to episode 6.
No geek like a Star Wars geek! I can imagine this is how people would have reacted back in the cinema. You're so here for it, and I love that.
Thanks!
“Don’t know why they called it Hoth, should have been Coldth.” “All right, settle down…”
it was probabley intended as in an inside joke. Although on the other hand, it could be in refernce to how the settlers who founded them named an icy cold desoate place Greenland and the nice beautfiul warmer island nation s as Iceland.
The voice of Darth Vader was done by the same actor, James Earl Jones
"They're even bigger than I expected!"
Looks at camera
"Hehe!"
I see what you did there.
E P I C .... That's the Kim we expect and enjoy. ❤
I love how you really enjoy these movies. Definitely one of the best reactions I've seen about this masterpiece out here ❤
Right? So dynamic yet analytical
About half-a-dozen things in the first 20-minutes would have been spoiled had Kim Watched the prequels first.
...what?
I think the mix order she was referring to was the Machete Order, and although I prefer the release order for first time viewing, the Machete Order is a legit order in giving the same story, but from a different perspective sorta. I did see someone react in numerical order though and it was actually better than I though it would be seeing someone do it that way. Same story, but different viewing experience. There's still spoilers, but they're revealed in different spots from the original spoiler reveals and lowkey still work...
Watching 4-6 first will spoil a lot of 1-3
I’m eleven minutes in and shutting it off. She talks way too much in her reactions.
@@DanSolo871 It's a reaction video lol...
Great job with the editing. You really put an effort into it.
Can't wait for Episode VI, then prequels, then sequels and much more. ❤
I don't think I've ever heard the "Darth Vader took over Luke's dad's body" theory before - that was quite clever!
it's kind of the way Kenobi explains it to Luke, from a certain point of view
The creatures in the beginning are taun-tauns... Given that
What's the internal temperature of a taun-taun?

...
Luke-warm!! 😂😂
44:47 is my favorite part of this reaction, I knew you would get a kick out of "I know" hahaha! Also I think its so cool that you take the time to pause and talk to the audience about exactly what you're thinking, I appreciate and enjoy hearing your inner monologue 😆
I enjoy your reactions so far :)
Regarding the cave scene, when Luke asks "What will I find?", Yoda answers "Only what you take with you". The cave is strong in the Dark Side of the Force and basically it shows Luke a few things:
1. It shows him what obsesses him (his hatred for Darth Vader)
2. After he decapitates Vader in his vision, it shows him that lashing out in hatred and anger will turn him into what he hates the most and cause him to fall to the Dark Side
3. It foreshadows the relation between Luke and Vader.
Another point I wish to make :
Not enough credit is given to Vader's understanding and mastery of the Force.
That's why your friends are made to suffer."
Vader had the mindfulness and understanding of how the Force works to plan actions that would have effects in the past and shape the present to his designs.
This is also why Obi-Wan and Yoda told him not to go (not play into Vader's hand), and the story proves them right : Luke does not help Leia and the gang at all. They escape all on their own. On the contrary, they end up having to rescue *him*.
Vader ought to know a thing or two about manipulation using force visions...
@@WJS774 Yeah figures daddy Palpy taught him a thing or two >.>
@@cyberjarl By example. It was primarily his visions that caused him to fall to the dark side.
When you do get to the sequels, please go into them with an open mind and don’t let anyone in the comments pressure you to feel one way or the other about them
An open mind is good, but when the writers and directors say that they had no idea what they were doing... a little bit of skepticism is not unhealthy.
Minute 39, where Threepio meets his "silver buddy" as you called him:
No, they're droids, which are manufactured the same way cars are, in large numbers. It's the same as parking your car, only to realise the car next to you is the same model.
Didn't Anakin build C3PO?
Kim, you do not yet realize your importance. You have only begun to discover your power. Join me, and I will complete your training. With our combined strength, we can end this destructive conflict and bring order to the galaxy. It is your destiny..
Ok, daddy.
0:13:50 That's Wedge Antilles, the only minor character to appear in all three films of the original trilogy. He did try to attack the death star in the first film, but he didn't die and he saves Luke at one point. He's in the second X-wing flying away from the explosion with Luke and Han.
The "I can hold it" guy is a different guy and he did die.
the guy who died was Hobbie
Hobbie was one of the other snowspeeder pilots who died during the battle of Hoth.
Let's all remember to keep comments on future movies
I can't wait for more reactions, and I'm so glad you're enjoying these!! Happy editing!
I LOVE your theories for Darth Vader. Making it even more supernatural
Probably the best reaction video I've seen to any StarWars film ever
When we left the theater in 1980, we knew we just saw the most incredible movie ever made.
Kim: "I'll try not to call everything adorable"
Me: "She's gonna see the Tauntaun in 3, 2, 1..."
You should seriously consider launching a separate channel specifically for Film/TV reactions bc this is fantastic.
I really love your intros, they really are different than what other movie reactor does. Keep it up with your personnal touch, I really enjoy revisiting those movies with you :)
Kim's benn blushing since the credits started in the beginning
The thirst is real.
Leia: I love you.
Han: Can it wait? I need to do some Calibrations.
The years between Empire and Jedi were looong as a little kid. Editing to add: I'm really having fun watching these with you. Love your reactions!
Empire is not only the best Star Wars film, it is arguably the best sequel ever made!
I love how excited you are to watch the rest of Star Wars! Enjoy Kim!
Tough call between this and T2 for best sequel.
@@buddabudda And the godfather 2
The best best Star Wars film i episode III RoTS.
Or Aliens
I love the entire saga (no sequels), but I'd say Rogue One is the best film of the bunch.
The best movie of the saga, and the one with the fewest/best edits for the 1997-2012 "Special Editions"
The Hoth scenes were filmed near Trondheim, Norway. In fact, the scene where Luke sees Ben's ghost was right outside their hotel in a blizzard. Members of the Norwegian Home Guard were extras in the Battle for Hoth.
The wampa attack was written in to explain Mark Hamill's facial reconstructive surgery he had
following a car crash.
Yet another laugh-filled reaction; I love it.
Jedi came out when i was 2, and my mom rented it on early vhs when i was 5, so that one was my favorite ever growing up :P
The simping for Solo & Daddy Vader continues! I love it!
I was 13 Years old in 1977 when I saw the Original Star wars in 1977 and 16 Years old in 1980 when I saw The Empire Strikes Back in 1980. It was amazing seeing it in the Movie Theatre and everyone gasped when Darth Vader told Luke who he was,
In the scene where Han Solo says I know to Princess Leia after she said I Love You was improvised.

Maybe she should rather experience the series as it is, not as it was.
You might as well watch the sequels, too. I reject them because I prefer the previous canon established by the books, but otherwise I don't think the sequels are any worse than the prequels. That's...an unpopular opinion😅

What a joy of a reaction to watch. So dynamic, yet so analytical. I'm glad to see you enjoy this!
And again, Kim blasts, like no blaster could. Please continue. We love it.
So glad that you're watching in release order like the majority of the fans experienced it.
This is one of the greatest films ever made.
Imagine having that cliff hanger and then having to weight several years for the next movie.
Between eps 4 and 5, Mark Hamill was in a movie called Corvette Summer, during the filming of which he was in a car crash that caused some lacerations on his face. The Wampa attack was used partly as an explanation for the permanent scarring on his cheek.
We had to wait several years back in 80’ to see what happens. Can you imagine? But 1980 was such a good year.
“Size…. Matters not”.
We knew Kim was gonna pause there.

Theres a fantastic page of a star wars comic, where Vader finds out the name of the jedi who works with the rebels, and he like shatters everything around him with the force, and then there is a silent moment and he says under his breath "I have a son:"
Even though your Anakin/Vader possession angle didn’t play out, his battle between the two aspects definitely works metaphorically!

Fun Movie Triva Fact - Dennis Lawson (the actor who played fighter pilot Wedge in all 3 of the original Star Wars trilogy - IV, V & VI) is the real life uncle of actor Ewan McGregor (who plays young Obi-Wan Kenobi in SW episodes I, II & III) 😁
So apparently the Space Yeti capture was written in to cover for the fact that Mark Hamill had been in a vehicle accident that scarred his face before production began. But if he narrowly escapes a Space Yeti, nobody's going to question Luke's scars.

This movie is responsible for the legend of the whole saga. This movie is a legend by itself.
If no one said it already, the actor in the Darth Vader suit is 6'6" British actor David Prowse who died in 2020 while the voice is American actor James Earl Jones.
It’s so funny to see you try to analyze the Anakin-Vader situation. So close yet so far 😂

the chemistry between Han and Leia was real. Ford and Fisher were banging IRL going back to the first movie. She was 19 and he was in his 30s
