In Classical Bujutsu Don Dreager wrote that Taijutsu was developed during the Edo period and specialized in small concealed weapons. I don’t know the dates but Taijutsu could be 400 years old. This should be drawing attention. When the shogun consolidated all the espionage he grafted already existing Shinobi into his network. Some Ninjas were not included. Might it not be that some of these Ninja founded Taijutsu schools or other martial arts?

I'm open minded though and willing to listen to anyone and look at the evidence. Without evidence I tend to roll my eyes a bit. Very strange to claim the "ninja" did not have a unique fighting style . All of these families had unique fighting styles . So when you want to study the martial art of a ninja family, a surviving oral tradiditon through generations , the bujinkan budo taijutsu of Soke Hasumi is one of the Genuine sources . There is no ninja fighting style ....but their is a fighting style of some ninja that survives today .
