As a kid I was obsessed with these training techniques and they work incredibly well. Once I evaded detection from a police spotlight by simply laying flat against a low bush and keeping my elbows tucked around my head. There was a shooting earlier that week so many patrols came through in the early morning and made great situations for practice. Looking back, it was dumb to tempt fate like this.

When I was in early high school I was the same. I had a suit pieced together from a gi and whatever I felt would work. I would practice hiding around the house (not in the dark) and also in school (usually by climbing) and I found that it is actually very easy to avoid notice from people who are not actively looking for you. You can hide in plain sight if you just fill in gaps beside or between other (dark) objects. I once went unnoticed by pressing against the side of a dark cabinet to my left with a bright window on on my right (on the same wall). The brightness of the window actually made the pale shadow dark enough in contrast that it worked. Naturally I graduated from there to running all over town (suburbia) at night, around 12-3am. I never saw patrol cars roaming slowly so I assume no one ever called the police, so probably seldom if ever seen. The fact that 98% of people were asleep obviously helped.
Interesting story: I was once out around 2am and had crept up beside a house from the back. I got behind a bush in the front and was looking for my next cover when the garage door came open right beside me. The light was on inside so I would have been easily noticed if someone looked toward the bush as they came out. I just pressed into the bush as well as possible when I heard the noise and held completely still. A person came out pulling a wagon, and it contained a couple of large black trash bags. They went around the bush and toward the back yard. I had no idea if they went to a point where I would be seen if I tried to run, or if anyone else was in the open garage, so I just stayed put. I was there for about 20 minutes it seemed. Eventually I heard them returning. The wagon was empty. They went around the bush, back in the garage and shut the door. I stayed put for about another 5 minutes and high-tailed it home. I have always wondered what that person could possibly have been doing like that at 2am. Creepy.

I always like learning about the reasoning behind certain techniques. Especially in this case, where the ninja try to take advantage of how humans work (e.g. we notice things that move, we're more likely to look in the direction we _think_ a threat is going).

Great video. Seems easy to spot the ninjas knowing that they are in a certain empty room in daylight with a camera pointing to their directions and a unidirectional micro being used. With the distractions and confusion in a real scenario, they would be really hard to find.

Very useful and glad you explained everything so that it makes sense.
The best way is to be part of the scenery. During the day to be dressed as regular locals would be best, in unsuspecting poses and postures. Line of sight has to do with who's watching. So dressing as day laborers, merchants, and monks was common when in city settings to remain underneath suspicion. At night you dress like law enforcement or private security. Forest color fatigues were for millitary reconnassance missions and would stick out in a civil setting.

One is to the throw food at them , some dogs need longer time to befriend. I once lived in a compound with about half a dozen dogs.
