Ohio State Buckeye here. The girl who inspired the song, "Hang on Sloopy" was a woman namded Dorothy Sloop, a jazz singer from Steubenville, Ohio, and a student at Ohio University. The "Dancing Sloopy Girl" in the photo was Lisa Leonard Dalton who was a dancer from California and was filmed for the song in 1975 by Rick Derrigner.
