PhD in rock history? You guys are pure comedy. Still got that clean time machine? Let's go for a little ride.
That's the best video yet. Sun Devil Stadium. Epic.
What Led Zeppelin and Hipgnosis did with the Houses Of The Holy album cover was insane it was so good.
We agree! Thanks for watching.
Doctor Robert? OMG. But Hymie is the funny one. And handsome. Wasn't he on Get Smart? Twilight zone, too....I think.
Get Smart for sure, don't know about Twilight Zone. I want to "Thank You" (ZZ Top 1979), thanks for watching!
We've got both kinds. Country & Western.
This is awesome stuff. I had no idea. Bob Smith, huh?😂 All the videos are great. Quick Spin Zone is my favorite 😍.
Great movie
Thanks for watching!
Hate to be picky but you showed the wrong performance of February 9th!😁 You gave us the Miami show!😳
Actually you are correct, but watching it over and really looking at the original script for that clip. It states the (multiple) televised shows on the Ed Sullivan Show in Feb of 1964. Then mentions the first of which in Feb 9th garnered a record-breaking 73.9 viewers that night. Then we follow with the She Loves You clip from the second show. It does not state that that clip is from that first night, it just is all part of that segment in general. I do see that following that with the Miami show so quickly that people might think that is the clip. Thanks we love your observation and passion for music! Confusion "ELO" 1979 Thanks, X
Put some Sergent Pepper on my scrambled eggs please.
That's Funny!
Guitar groups are on the way out but they signed the rolling Stones who had guitars
Right you are! Ironic...Don't ya think?
On the suggestion of George Harrison.
good video,love from China
Awesome! Thank you!
We knew this, but it doesn’t matter. Thank you very much Decca records. That executive is truly the fifth Beatle
Indeed!
Smile needed a singer and got a South African Zoroastrian and a bassist named John Deacon.
What Gordon Lightfoot song was inspired while he was driving from Flagstaff to Phoenix? If I want to lose my drivers license, I'll play Deep Purples Highway Star off the live Made in Japan album. Just learned Elton passed away.
@robbywest8410 Carefree Highway
@Winterstick549 Elton didn't die. He's gotta taste for love in a simple way. And if you need to know while he's still standing...you just fade away 😆.
The album cover of Super Tramp's Crime of The Century album would go great with the intro.
Nice! Thats right! Good insight!
Wait til the next episode. We are doing something with breakfast in america.
Or I should say....Bloody Well Right!
Great intel
Thanks!
Sloopy is Lisa Leonard Dalton
Who?
Thx for tuning in, Mark. 1979 is on deck.
The Belfast Gypsies. Why do so many people and bands gravitate to the name gypsy. Have any of these people actually hung out with gypsies? And come away with their wallets?
I love your take! You are spot on!
Funny. Thx for checking in. Appreciate the input. Stay tuned. 1979 on deck.
Ohio State Buckeye here. The girl who inspired the song, "Hang on Sloopy" was a woman namded Dorothy Sloop, a jazz singer from Steubenville, Ohio, and a student at Ohio University. The "Dancing Sloopy Girl" in the photo was Lisa Leonard Dalton who was a dancer from California and was filmed for the song in 1975 by Rick Derrigner.
That is some great rock history tidbits. Thx for the info & thx for tuning in. 1979 on deck.
Sloopy was his pet Cocker Spaniel who was battling liver cancer.
Wow! You got it! Love to here from Ohio!
In 1965, The Beatles released rubber sole also in 1965. The Beatles number one hit Ticket to Ride. Was riding the charts? Did you know
So funny. Help & ticket to ride split the vote. Hymie had final say on this one...and help was a slam dunk for him. No wrong answers tho.
Thanks for watching! What was your first concert and where?
Hello "Doctor" 😉. Very cool that you saw your first concert (Beach Boys) at Phoenix Muni Stadium 🏟️!! Mine was Alice Cooper at Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Phoenix (Welcome To My Nightmare tour).
So cool!
My buddy Vince. Great AZ rocker...and DJ too. Spin Doctor.
My first concert from a nationwide act was KC and The Sunshine Band at the old Legend City. Playboy Mansion music 😅
What a great line up for a great year!!!
Thanks for watching...By the way what was your first concert and where?
Thx for tuning in. 1979 right around the corner.
Way to fire up the time machine, Dr. Robert!
I want to "Thank You" ZZ Top, for watching!
Zeppelin would also like to thank you 😆
These are such a great way to take a little trip back in time. These songs remind me of riding in the back of my parent’s station wagon. Keep making these and can’t wait to see which year comes next!!
Rock on!
Thx angel. Our sentiments exactly.
VERY COOL! I love the Twilight Zone mock up, showcasing The Quick Spin Zone!
Yeah me too
Part of the show. See how many song references hymie throws out there.
Hang on sloppy ‘ still holds up ‘ 1965 what a great for music
Thanks, great song and to think Rick then had Rock and Roll Hoochie Koo!
💯. Thx for watching. Stay tuned for more. Every yr gets a show. 🎸
My advice: cut the intro to 20 seconds. Two minutes is way too long...
It's only this long for the first 2-3 episodes. Just to introduce the twilight zone theme. Thx for watching & the input. It will be condensed long-term. Please subscribe & stay tuned for future quickspins to the past.
1:38 seconds to be exact! Its an introduction with the Twilight Zone like theme going back. in time! The third or forth episode it will be cut down to half of that. Thanks for watching and love the input!
Love it
Thx twila. Thx for watching. New episode early next week. 1965
The cover picture looks wrong, that's 1950s to early 60s art. Also the intro is TWO minutes long, whats quick about that but neat, peachy, far out and cool.
The show goes back to the 50's & 60's. Just be patient. This is just the first episode. That's why the intro is elaborate. Subsequent episodes it will be condensed. When we feel its time. 1965 will air next week. Thx for the input & stay tuned 🎙. Keen eye. We can tell you pay attn 😉.
I love it. Your comedy and timing is great. I love the little pop ups of info on the band and of course hearing songs I've never heard of or known before. I look forward to each and every episode! Keep up the great work.. it'll keep getting better and better. ❤👏🙌🙏✴️
Rock on!
Thank you Venice Beach Valeri. You seem like a girl with good taste 😝 😉
Love it! Reminds me of growing up and listening to my brother blasting his stereo!
Thank you. It's my brother and I revisiting the past. So much fun. 1965, 1979, 1981 to follow....
Dr Robert, keep on rocking in the free word!
Ring my friend, I said you'd call (comment) Doctor Robert Day or night, he'll be there any time at all Dr. Robert
Thank you my friend. 1965 is next up.
India, love the content so far!
Thanks for tuning in! More to come!
Thank you for the view & the comment. 1965 will air soon. '79 & '81 to follow....
that was queen
Thanks for watching!
Correct. Thanks you tuning in. From the Doctor 😂.
Love the Lightfoot segment! Gordon should have dumped her! At least he got a huge hit out of it!🤣
Exactly. Love lost isn't always a bad thing 💔.
"Musta Got Lost..." Somewhere down the line...
@thexmusicinsights Right album hymie...wrong song.
But, Billy Powell on Freebird, just killed it!💯
And he started out as a roadie. Thx for watching.
Oh my favorite Keys are Ian Stewart and Keith Emerson!
Love ELP!
Couple of heavyweights 🎹
"How Many More Times!" Dr. Robert! I said before and I will say it again, You sound like a young Wolfman Jack/Casey Kasem! 💯
Thank you for the kind words. Continue watching. Much more in store.
