First time I heard of chicken tunnels and saw how they could be used, I thought it was an awesome idea. Like the idea of chickens being able to snack on Comfrey from the tunnel. I've grown Comfrey and used their leaves in a chop & drop method to feed other food plants.
I didn't know you could propagate comfrey like this! Thank you for the idea!! I planted two plants earlier this year and it took them a bit to establish. We have had a frost here already, so maybe next year! p.s. I'm very jealous you can just dig that easily. Our soil here is so rocky you put the shovel in the ground and you hit a rock 99% of the time, it's frustrating haha
Sometimes I think my soil is tough but I guess I should be thankful!! Comfrey will grow almost no matter what. It just takes longer with the smaller root fragments. Good luck 😉
I’m definitely going to get some comfrey started. I’ve read about it in Permaculture books, but now I see the real world practical use. By the way, you look 10 years younger without the beard.
@@therealprtrhsenteal I love my new 13 Novagen brown hens btw! They have been great layers and incredibly docile and hardy birds! I really love watching your channel for new ideas, and I’ve just watched them pummel through 6 buckets of wood chips in less than 3 days! Amazing!

Awesome! Comfrey has so many uses and a great thing to grow. I like it for a mulch and feed supplement for my livestock. 👌
Found you through the algorithm! Love what I’m seeing so far with the presentation and information.
Thanks for the kind words and welcome!
Awesome idea there eh! Have one confrey plant been meaning to propregate from it always forget about it lol... maybe today thanks for sharing
Right on Denis! That one plant can yield you many. Once you have it you pretty much have it!!
Nice idea on the chicken run.
I always learn something from you I am pretty sure I learned several somethings today. Thank you!
Thanks for watching my friend:) You are welcome!
Excellent ideas
Thanks! 🙂

Awesome Comfrey is a pretty easy and great thing to plant. 👌 Haha on the beard. That's what my wife tells me!
Great idea ❤
Thank you! 😊

@farmgirl22 love to hear this! Those Novogen Browns are pretty great birds. Thanks for watching and I appreciate the feedback:)
I haven’t grown comfrey. How often do you feed it to the chickens? My ground if full of clay and I struggle with everything but weeds 😅
Comfrey will grow well in clay. The root system will help to break up and loosen clay soil. 👌
Is the chicken tunnel a circle of wire, fencing, or an arch somehow secured into the ground????
It is an arch or half circle that is held in between the fence and railroad ties.
