I love this scene, but I wish they would've put Axel's and kairi's actual training in the game, even if it's just a small montage cut scene, then it would've been perfect.

I'm not going to lie, that moment where Axel is suddenly overwhelmed with emotion is my favorite bit in the game for its emotional content (next to Maleficent and Pete finding Pandora's box for comedy, anyway).
I'm sorry, but is nobody gonna talk about how Axel just magically pulled two perfectly good and intact ice cream bars behind his butt cheeks? Kairi: Axel? Where were you hiding these? Axel:........no where
What also gets me about this scene is that Axel is seeing Xion as Roxas’ Xion, with the short black hair. Yet the secret diaries in Days says that how he saw her is a spitting image of Namine instead. Yet despite all that, he knows deep down that this stranger suddenly sitting across him is still one of his best friends anyway and cries.
One of the few moments from this game that attempts to be heartfelt that I genuinely do like. I never would have expected to see these two bonding, but considering the circumstances, it makes sense. Lea feels indebted to Kairi for everything he put her through out of his own selfishness --- and on top of that, he feels drawn to her because she reminds him of Xion, even if he doesn't fully realize it yet. I always assumed that the reason he asks her to call him Axel is because he thinks it might bring back whatever he's forgetting. It's very emotional.
These are pre rendered just like the let it go scene on frozen also the ending of frozen,castle oblivion the ending where he goes to save kairi and some other scenes too but u can tell tho even tho the opening and ending are pre rendered too but way more detailed

I’m not gonna lie the delivery of the lines feel so flat. Like I know Axel is supposed to feel a lot of regret for what he did, but he sounds so timid at times. And Kairi’s voice just feels like it’s being forced to have this soft sound throughout every single line she says. Also the pauses between every line makes it feel sooooo slow

Cause she has played many Characters that are tomboys and spunky and she's an actual tomboy herself. So, I know that there is something wrong here, they just didn't allow her to be herself. So, please don't blame the voice actor. I know she can improve like she did in MoM.

I know it's significant, probably due to the fact the two have become so close over the course of their training together but I feel like there's more to it. He would also get annoyed when called Axle and insist his name was Lea in DDD so him asking Kiri to call him by that name has to mean something special. Can anyone explain it for me?

So maybe if Kairi calls him Axel he will remember Xion, like he did when she said the line “don’t hold back Axel promise” (Xion said that too) Have you seen Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days? That will explain everything, In the storyline it’s during Chain of memories.
358/2 days is basically Axels story as a nobody. He makes friends with Roxas and Xion. (That’s all I can say for now. You should check it out. Got it Memeorized? ;) Kh is a very complicated storyline If you don’t play in the right order.

I'd completely forgot that the line Kiri uses was the same one Xion uses before her and Axle's last fight! That actually makes more sense now. I suppose he also must of felt like it just felt right to be called that while being around her due to his subconscious memory of Xion. Like, more natural, or familiar like you said

And because it's probably the most depressing in the series (the atmosphere and tragedy of that game still wrecks me). I never got to play all the games but I've tried keeping up with the lore lol. It's hard to stay away from this Saga's convoluted connections and storyline ^^
She has a different voice actress in this game. They replace the original with the voice of Xion. Her original voice actress was Hayden Panettiere who voiced Kairi from KH1 - KH BBS and her new voice actress is Alyson Stoner who voices Kairi in KH Re Com, KH 368/2 Days, KH BBS 0.2, KH3, Remind and MOM. But she didn't do that much good job here than she did in 0.2, she sounded playful and spunky there but a little quieter and softer here. I don't think it's her fault. I guess it's just wrong direction that's all. But I hope they gave her a right one next time like in MOM, she sounded better there too. So, I believe she can improve.
