As someone who has been applying and interviewing for 2-3 months, you're 100% right about everything. A lot of roles either got cancelled or had +200 applicants or something crazy. Noticing it's way more likely to get a role working onsite since less are likely able or willing to commute. And it's just going to get worse.
Great advice, as a UI UX designer who has work currently coming out of my ears. I still take this advice to heart. I used to get nervous updating LinkedIn, not any more
You say that freezes and layoffs are a lagging indicator and that valuations were cut quarters ago. I wonder how do you get this information? Is it publicly available?
This is a far more complicyanswer than can exist in a TH-cam comment. Grab my email from the about page and send me a note. I'll respond with some ideas.
My brother was in this same situation. No bachelors degree, 7 years of part-time retail after high school, had done a couple of self-taught projects and for free consulting projects. After I worked with him, he got a job at a startup making $50k. I’ve been a contractor/consultant for years. This means I’m polishing my resume and interviewing every 4-6 months.

I am self-taught developer and I don't have any years of experience in the corporate world and I've been applying everywhere. What should I do?

"...the freeze strictly impacts retail stores org only, and not AWS."
Narrator: It impacted AWS.
