could not agree more. it speaks volumes to Brynner's incredible acting that his role in this movie was the direct inspiration behind two other massive icons of film: Michael Myers and the Terminator
Later in the video they show some imperfections in the seam. It's not invisible at all. It's a good steady seam, but they used a very thin surgical scalpel.
I've received a few disparaging comments about how me being an artist doesn't make me any better than anybody else in regards to having any speciality to see art. First and foremost, I have not even implied I have any "edge" in that regard. In addition, I have to wonder what sort of frame of reference this person had who felt it so important to take me to task? What I do have is many years of application, schooling, sculpture, painting, Art History & Art Appreciation classes, as well as Teaching Fine Art. I have also entered or attended countless Art shows and Exhibits. (I have won several) Does that make my eye any better? Who knows? Was my "eye" good enough for me to gain a full scholarship with no previous Art Instruction? Yes. Do I have much more exposure to Art than the average person? I tend to think that might be true. I have seen folks who could capture a likeness but had no imagination, and folks who were not quite as skilled as others in photorealistic capture but, whose imagination was enviable. Never, ever, think you have no art ability because you can't copy exactly or draw something out of your head. And, do not take someone to task based on your imagination and no real background to know what your talking about.
Welcome to youtube, there's trolls and haters all around us. Don't let them get to you, they're generally speaking not all that intelligent. There's no point either in writing a page long reply explaining what you meant.. Know that most people did get it, and did appreciate it.
DannoCrutch Yeah even without the mechanism that piece is astonishing. From even a metre away, if you took the mirrored contacts out, i'd honestly assume it was a human standing there.
Wow, utterly amazing. I wonder what Mr Brynner's children would say if they were to see it in person, I'd be moved to tears at such a vivid rendering, if it were my father.
I'd love to know about the 7 people who gave this video a thumbs down. What could *possibly* have informed that decision? Anyway, the sculpture is fantastic, the likeness is 100% accurate and I don't normally say that. I seem to be more sensitive to likeness than some other people who give stuff that's clearly off a glowing review, but this is perfect.
Uriel Kosovo If something isn't interesting enough to like, you ignore it. A dislike is an active negative reaction, one made more out of bitterness than boredom. It's also something that, in great enough numbers, genuinely does I'll for the creators of the video. So it's not "to each their own" at all. There is no reason to DISlike something you just don't like.
Andy McAwesome I see where you're coming from, but someone can find something to be so boring and uninteresting that they dislike the content. It is to each their because everyone has different likings and interests.
That seam is incredible! And look at the posture. EXACTLY like Yul Brynner's. I was 15 when the movie came out and to this day, I still consider it one of the best and scariest sci-fi movies of all time. Similar to Stepford Wives in creepiness.
This guy is amazing. He's worked on Jurrassic Park, Galaxy Quest, TRON legacy, Sucker Punch, Oz the Great and Powerful, 300 2, Man of Steel, and the next Tarantino movie and lots more.
America has Intel, Disney (with it's world class Abe Lincoln robot head), Google, Microsoft, etc etc etc. Millions of companies which lead the world. Not to mention we are the youngest country who super quickly made a giant film industry the world never before had.
There aren't enough likes in the world for this. Perfect, and so cool. I watched Westworld on late night TV, and Yule Brenner scared the crap out of me.
This is one of three movies that all seem to go together to me; Westworld, Rollerball and Logan's Run. Brynner was awesome. The detail in the skin is unbelievable and the hands, by themselves, are amazing. You can even see the skin stretching and distortion that would be caused by the grip. Pretty cool.
All three were predictions of the future made in the mid-70s before the home computer. As such it affected how people thought about technology. After the home computer, everything in SF changed and miniaturization became believable. Once the home computer came out, SF changed and didn't seem as much fun. And unlike other SF movies, those films did have somewhat happy endings.
+moakley Which means it predates both the first virus in the wild and the first virus with a harmful payload by about a decade. Pretty solid prediction mastery, i would say. Even though the term already existed at the time, i doubt it was known, ever appeared in the popular press, or much was thought was given to the potential development, outside of the smallest circle of academics.
+Siana Gearz I remember a Star Trek TNG episode that dealt with a computer virus before they were things too. Can't remember it too well, time for a rewatch.
bunnyfreakz I have not seen it yet - but based on the trailer, yes I can. Remember they had shot about half of the film before they had to resort CGI for Paul Walker.
bunnyfreakz I have seen it and yes I can. I didn't know they had CG'd his face for the movie until later but at the time I watched it I remember thinking how his face seemed really off. I didn't understand why they would have CG'd his face like that so I chalked it up to excessive makeup or plastic surgery.
You can't see the seam line, that's bonkers. I love the attention to detail in that, bloody amazing. "You say something, boy?" =P Westworld is such an under rated film that inspired loads of films, ghosts in the machine, robots sort of naturally evolving and becoming aware when they get advanced enough.
100% Accurate detail. this blew my mind! I've seen all of Tested's videos but this sculpture is by far the most impressive. If I was a millionaire, I'd contact the creator give him a ridiculous amount of money for it. WOW
My wife and I attended this show in Burbank. When I tell you this looked as real as it gets, it looked as real as it gets. At first I didn't notice the seem, all of a sudden his face his opened to the side. You think you're looking at a real person then, boom. If there is a Monsterpalooza coming near you- GO. Yes, this is really well done. Brought back memories when I first saw West World. Enjoyed the interview. How awesome it must have been to see it in real life! (Back in the good ole days when you didn't need to wear a face masks to have a conversation!)
If you think this robot face is cool, you may also like the Ghost in the Shell mechanical geisha masks: th-cam.com/video/KosBvDyWgnA/w-d-xo.html
Adam Savage’s Tested These robots aren't far away to reality.
It's freakin insane how real that looks.
Westworld is a eternal classic and always worth a revisit. This man did a stunning tribute to Brynner's legacy.
excellent real life size bust and the movie is always excellent
could not agree more. it speaks volumes to Brynner's incredible acting that his role in this movie was the direct inspiration behind two other massive icons of film: Michael Myers and the Terminator
"You say something, boy?"
"I said...you talk too much."
"Why don't you make me shut up."
That seam is unbelievable.
thats what makes it incredible right
I would be interested to see how invisible it is in person. So much detail is lost on camera
Later in the video they show some imperfections in the seam. It's not invisible at all. It's a good steady seam, but they used a very thin surgical scalpel.
Which episode?
Ryan Cook correct
I'm an artist and that was among the best likeness of a person I have ever seen, sculpted.
I've received a few disparaging comments about how me being an artist doesn't make me any better than anybody else in regards to having any speciality to see art.

Maarten Fierens Thanks, Maarten!
***** hah! Exactly. Thanks!
DannoCrutch Yeah even without the mechanism that piece is astonishing. From even a metre away, if you took the mirrored contacts out, i'd honestly assume it was a human standing there.
Man it looks so nice and exact. It looks better than most wax sculptures. Well done.
This piece of art is absolutely stunning! I'm fascinated by the realism of the look.
This guy is a true artist.
The scultupre just had a cameo on last night's episode of "Westworld"!
Wow, utterly amazing. I wonder what Mr Brynner's children would say if they were to see it in person, I'd be moved to tears at such a vivid rendering, if it were my father.
I love Westworld,
I really wish Yul Brynner was still with us and could have seen that piece himself.
WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T SMOKE!!!
Great job Norm !
Looked like he wasn't really feeling the interview at first but your questions made him want to talk about it.
Amazing Work He was the original Terminator.
Some just don't find this interesting enough to like it so they give it a dislike. To each their own mate.
Uriel Kosovo If something isn't interesting enough to like, you ignore it. A dislike is an active negative reaction, one made more out of bitterness than boredom. People without taste in movies maybe?
+DSD Movies prior expectations, bad homelife, socio-paths.
Stuff happens.
I love Westworld. The movie is fantastic and that full sculpt of the character is just mind blowing. I would love to rewatch the movie again.
the detail on that skin is amazing! I couldn't even see where it separates!
That seam is incredible! And look at the posture. EXACTLY like Yul Brynner's. I was 15 when the movie came out and to this day, I still consider it one of the best and scariest sci-fi movies of all time. Similar to Stepford Wives in creepiness.
it's honesty the best likeness of the actor I've ever seen, supremely good job. Love this, and the original movie.
This guy is amazing. He's worked on Jurrassic Park, Galaxy Quest, TRON legacy, Sucker Punch, Oz the Great and Powerful, 300 2, Man of Steel, and the next Tarantino movie and lots more.
An absolutely amazing piece of work - there are some extremely talented people in the world.
This is amazing. I just seen the movie for the first time and man oh man what a GREAT film.
What a great job. It's a shame the media doesn't concentrate more on this side of Americana.
America has Intel, Disney (with it's world class Abe Lincoln robot head), Google, Microsoft, etc etc etc. Millions of companies which lead the world. Not to mention we are the youngest country who super quickly made a giant film industry the world never before had.
Are we just gonna slide past "Americana" ?
There aren't enough likes in the world for this. Perfect, and so cool. I watched Westworld on late night TV, and Yule Brenner scared the crap out of me.
Like the guy said “the original terminator”
Truly a great film
This is one of three movies that all seem to go together to me; Westworld, Rollerball and Logan's Run. Brynner was awesome.

Logan's run very underrated film
Westworld is one of my favorite movies and I wasn't even born until almost 10 years later after it's release.
UNBELIEVEABLE !!!! I seen the movie when it came out. I am huge brynner fan. Great work
He is the original terminator ,Well done Sir ,I saw it in 78
Oh my dear god !!!! The Yul Brynner piece is near perfect !! Genius !!!
THE great YUL BRYNNER......lives again.
westworld was the first movie to use the term "computer virus"
+moakley Which means it predates both the first virus in the wild and the first virus with a harmful payload by about a decade. Pretty solid prediction mastery, i would say. +Siana Gearz I remember a Star Trek TNG episode that dealt with a computer virus before they were things too. Can't remember it too well, time for a rewatch.
+mastermanio2 TNG was late 80's so maybe the term was around then? I always love the hollow deck eps
Accurate, there were computer viruses and major hackers when TNG was filmed.
bug or virus or system crush?
Better than any CGI.
Captain Video Blaster Guess can you recognize Paul Walker face in F&F7 is CGI ?
bunnyfreakz
I have not seen it yet - but based on the trailer, yes I can. Remember they had shot about half of the film before they had to resort CGI for Paul Walker.

That is fantastic, I wonder if the original prop from the movie still exists.. I used to look at pictures of it as a kid and be fascinated.
You bring us the best stuff. Thanks!
They need to have this in a cameo on the new show.
+DrCruel - in fact it was used in the new HBO show- as long as HBO says OK - he'll be in it.
That is mad. Great bit of work.
You can't see the seam line, that's bonkers. I love the attention to detail in that, bloody amazing. "You say something, boy?" =P
Westworld is such an under rated film that inspired loads of films, ghosts in the machine, robots sort of naturally evolving and becoming aware when they get advanced enough.
What a talent this man and his friend has
Ich erinnere mich noch damals wie aboslut genial dieser Film gemacht war.
Endlich mal einen Roboter Menschen der sowas von toll modelliert war ^^
These guys are really good at what they do
They really captured his likeness and really did a good job making sure that seam meets up!
I found a reason to visit this channel again!
They probably used this prop in last nights episode.
The eyes look so amazing, love it!!
That is absolutely amazing and epic work! Wow!!
Now I'm thinking instead of "like" and "dislike" there should be a "BADASS" button. This is positively BADASS! The sculpt is amazing.
Amazing work, just amazing!
100% Accurate detail. this blew my mind! I've seen all of Tested's videos but this sculpture is by far the most impressive. If I was a millionaire, I'd contact the creator give him a ridiculous amount of money for it. WOW
Amazing.
Oh my God, I love this movie.
A masterpiece.
That's awesome! Fantastic craftsmanship!
Holy fuck that's amazing - looks identical!
This was my favorite piece :) I love the movie, mainly because I love Crichton
That movie was the bomb. Still one of my favorite movies. Awesome, Awesome Animatronic.
Incredible piece!
That is superior and excellent work! Nick, that's fantastic !! Keep up the great work!
That... was cool.
I watched Westworld when i was a kid too.. one of my childhood favorites. classic film.
I just saw Westworld and Futureworld, pretty cool!
I also saw the movie when I was a kid, what a great piece of art he did. Amazing job, my best regards from Chile!
The face union is perfect!
I was also ten when the movie came out and it was/is amazing as is this sculpture. Great memories!
OMG THAT LOOKS FANTASTIC! Great job👍🏻
Cool video, and amazing work of art there!
I wonder if Nick will be selling copies of this Yul Brenner work? I am sure people would like to get this item even in cast form.
What dedication. & to think... I have a hard time motivating myself to mow the lawn.
This exhibit was one of many lifelike statues there..
I talked with Nick Mara for bit, nice guy. Very cool, a regular Joe if you will..
That is absolutely amazing! You can't really see his hands since they're tucked in his pants, but are the fingers a bit screwey like in the film?
That's correct..but it's only visible on the palms of the hands.
I don't think I've heard of this movie, but I'm definitely looking it up now.
Brilliant! Fantastic! And spot on!👏🏻
pretty cool how there's a HBO series of Westworld coming out soon
I think Nick Marra should have been the one commissioned to do the re-sculpt of the Lucy bronze statue in Celoron NY
you could see this figure in lastnights episode of hbo's Westworld!
Which episode was that?
i forget but you only see him in the background blurred and in the shadows when bernard is in the old basement scene
Episode 6 at 8m13s and a few frames. I only just spotted it, turn up the brightness and go frame by frame. Great easter egg!
They built their own I think
"Sloppy with your drink. Get this boy a bib. He needs his momma."
Now this is awesome beyond belief .!!
@00:30, instead of the original WestWorld music, I could only hear the opening intro of Terminator 2 kicking in...
BOOM-BOOM-BOOM-BOOM-BOOM-BOOM
Excellent work. Amazing!
Im glad my acid dropping days are over.
"Sloppy with your drink" haha Nothing sloppy about your sculpture. Amazing work to say the least.
"He needs his Mama."
OK, this guy is skilled. That seem is just so great. It's there and not there.
He looks so real :) Job well done!
That film kept me awake for night after night.
This is so amazing one of my favorite movies and movie characters so awesome
One of my fav old films - 1973!
Amazing work 🤯
ouuuuhhhh! this is so amazing lifelike and believable, I am stunned!
The original Westworld movie was the best movie (in its day). I watched it as a kid.
Yes, this is really well done. Brought back memories when I first saw West World. Enjoyed the interview. How awesome it must have been to see it in real life! (Back in the good ole days when you didn't need to wear a face masks to have a conversation!)
Yes politics and black hats
A year, wow I was expecting 5. Amazing
That’s so lifelike it’s scary
Wow, Epic. Well done.
This is amazing !
Arnold Swarchznegger took tips off Yul Brynner in Westworld for his role in Terminator
This is really good work.
even tho this film was before i was born its still a amazing film and i have a feeling i know what i will be watching soon
The world is making yul brynner alive again
Boy have we got a show for you!
beutiful work one of my favorite films
