Saw them open for Husker Du in Boston. They overshadowed the hedliners who were at the end of their band life. Their recent album is good too.

I’ve always thought this band took a lot from Jonathan Richman’s The Modern Lovers. Even if they are frenetic, their means are quite minimal which allows each instrument to shine, from the squelchy bass, punchy drums, to the hypnotic guitar parts.

Love them; they're still actively touring (mostly in the northeast), amazing live!

I love the Feelies. Saw them perform a couple of times back in the 80s. Must have worn this record out. Great reaction to a great band!

Yay!! 😊 I first heard this album over 10 years ago. I saw them open for Sonic Youth in '08/09 and was totally intrigued! I didn't listen to it as much as I should have in the years following, but for some reason picked it back up again this year. I never imagined it would be the album to help me get through difficult times, but it truly did. It is an absolutely fantastic album. I commented on the first Feelies video that I never listened to their second album before and I had intentions to listen and I didn't end up doing so, but I will now. Thank you!

I'd have gone for Moscow Nights or Loveless Love. But I don't remember what you've done before. Amazing group nevertheless. And a fantastic album

    Two chords the whole song.
Lou Reed would love it xx
Edit: I just looked at their discography and they released an album of VU covers last year **smug**

I'm glad more people are catching the Feelies bug. A really excellent band. You nailed it with the Talking Heads, Television and Devo comparison. You were right to not stop the middle interlude and build-up. How can you stop before the payoff? Also, the Beatles cover on this album is the one I always cite as my favorite Beatles cover! Keep it coming from one of North Jersey's best!!

Love, love, love The Feelies. I was working at a record store back in the late 80s and saw the latest Rolling Sone magazine Top 500 albums and this New Jersey band came in quite high. I think, frenetic may have been one of the adjectives used, and hell, the album starts with "The Boy with the Perpetual Nervousness", lol. You mentioned that they don't waste any time, but they also do the slow burn quite effectively. I saw them in Philly many years ago and the floor was pulsing. Another Jersey band called Yo La Tengo was certainly listening to this album. Great upload, and, again, I've looked for a reference for your intro music, but haven't found one. Oh, almost forgot, there are offshoots of the band, The Trypes, Speed the Plough, and Yung Wu for those of us who can't get enough of The Feelies.
