NHL today is a completely different sport. Glad the Wings won, but that was a weak call. 3 on 3 OT is shinny road hockey. The 98 Wings would dominate the 24 Wings with 90’s rules.

Meanwhile Hughes gets called for cross checking in OT when he pushed the guy lightly... weak calls that helped the red wings get to OT in the first place. Game shouldve been over in regulation.

It was a shove. By nhl standards that was a weak penalty shot call. It’s another one of those ref discretion calls the nhl has where nobody knows where the line is.
They’ll be another play tonight where a player is tackled on a breakaway and the official will just give a holding penalty.
