For the record I ended up making Philly cheese steaks lol . Was thinking of what to use them for and was surprised when this video was in my feed, also maybe to much sugar for me.
In Brazil, we call this recipe 'Rabanada', but instead of using butter, we use oil. We usually consume a lot of it during Christmas time ❤ your recipe seems to have turned out delicious! Greetings from Brazil 🇧🇷
Love this idea. Literally right this minute I have 2 bags of hotdog buns just sitting in my kitchen that no one has been eating. I think we may even be out of hotdogs.andi hate wasting food. This is great for me! Thank you!
The way I literally have a bag with two hot dog buns ON my coffee table that I almost just ate as regular toast with some eggs to use them up. I am ABSOLUTELY doing this tomorrow, this is by far the cutest way to use up any left over buns!! Love this!!
I tried it as soon as I saw it, I was afraid that it would taste like eggs, so I used only one egg with the rest of the ingredients, I was surprised that it was delicious. Even my little brother, who does not like to eat everything, loved it🪄 With vanilla ice cream, it was the best thing🍥
Dark yolks come from free range chickens. Lighter yolks are from caged chickens that don’t get out and eat anything other than the feed they are given.
It took me a minute to realize yours are like that because they're not pre-sliced... In America, hot dog buns are always sliced into almost all the way through to hold a hot dog, if I cut them into quarters like you did they'd be in 8 pieces 😅
In the picture, I thought the bread was cut into hearts !💕 You should try that !! It would be so cute ! And you could shape the butter into heart shapes !
Let me drop a game changer to you… butter milk instead of regular milk . Bread : Hawaiian bread or brioche bread . Optional : (instead of syrup )Ghirardelli’s Carmal sauce with la lechera ( sweeetened condensed milk ) on top of French toast Thank me later
Try adding some fresh squeezed orange juice to the egg, milk, and vanilla mixture. It's A-Mazing!!❤ 🤤 In my 20s I worked at a well known resort in Scottsdale Arizona. This was a tip one of our chefs gave me. I haven't made FT without the orange juice ever since. I have subbed out the vanilla for almond extract, or used a little bit of both, all three options are just Lovely. I usually use the juice of half of a navel orange. If all we had was a bag of the little cuties or mandarins, those work too, just used more of the orange. I haven't tried a blood orange yet, but I'm sure it would be tasty as well. You just might want to add some sugar if you don't want too much zip to your mix. As far as the milk, I prefer half and half , but whole milk will do. I will also add an additional yoke to the mix, e.g., ~¾cp of liquid(milk & juice), 3 eggs plus 1 yoke.
I made this and it is so good! This can not disappoint me, and it was my Frist time making French toast too, l can eat these all day and never get board! 10/10!
This is so good! I made it and it tasted phenomenal. Although, if you like your French toast sweet maybe add some cinnamon into the mixture along with the milk and eggs. It still tasted good and took around 20-30 mins to make.
I would've put the cinnamon and sugar in with the egg milk and vanilla mixture because when I made it all the cinnamon and sugar just practically dusted itself off 😂
Stores where I live have the option. Most brands are pre-sliced but if you buy a more expensive brand or from the store bakery they aren’t always pre-cut. Most are though
Transform your French toast game with this decadent twist! Begin by slicing King's Hawaiian rolls in half, then whip up a luscious batter by combining eggs, vanilla, brown sugar, and the unexpected but utterly divine addition of Cold Stone Sweet Cream coffee creamer. Trust me, it's a game-changer. But here's where the magic really happens: take your culinary adventure to the next level by pulsing Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal into a fine powder using a food processor. Incorporate a generous amount into your batter, infusing each bite with irresistible flavor and crunch. Once your batter is ready, cook your French toast to golden perfection as demonstrated in the video. But the indulgence doesn't stop there-after cooking, generously coat each slice with the remaining Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal for an extra layer of texture and flavor. Serve these heavenly creations warm, accompanied by a pat of butter and a drizzle of Mrs. Butterworth's syrup for an experience that will tantalize your taste buds. Trust me, this will become your family's favorite breakfast in no time, perfectly complemented by savory sausage links and crispy bacon. Bon appétit!
Oh, no !! My grandkids can’t live there ! They don’t carry them at all ? In California the King’s Hawaiian 🌺 bread company even has their own restaurant. Maybe they aren’t able to make enough for the World !
@zorls it's custard, which is the whole point. I don't feel like you are making it right. People who like dry French toast might as well just eat toast

I wanna try this but use herbs and garlic instead of cinnamon sugar and then make a cheese fondue dipping sauce for savory French toast!
Please make that a video if you can, that sounds delightful! 😍

To those commenting on the yolks...the darker they are the fresher they are! Stores sell old eggs.
Usually country eggs have a dark yellow yolk!! Love them
The feed can change the color of the yolks also.
They're not just fresher eggs, they are fed better and not caged 24/7!
