I would highly recommend "Compassion" if anyone is considering sponsoring a child. 100% of your Birthday/Christmas gifts goes directly to them, and no less than 80% of your Monthly Sponsor goes to your child. You get to write letters online to them, you can also send photos! If you ever want to visit, it's very easy to coordinate with the organization!
I am social worker at one of the projects in Kenya... You have no idea how big deal a sponsor visit to the beneficiary is... I have seen it and I wish it can happen often. And for all you, who sponsor this Kids, God bless you.

For instance, I have a girl at my centre, she was very shy prior to her visit. After the visit she got really active, she always wants to know about her sponsor, and does everything required of her on time... She became very active in activities and always wants her sponsor to know about it... She is now doing nursing but also comes back to the project on holidays to give back... So this can not happens without you and we can not say Thank you enough

One, on your next letter ask for more information and ask questions. Second, if the questions and requests are not addressed then please raise a concern with the field office. They will communicate with the concerned social worker/ office to make sure letters are more personal, address all your questions and not repetitive.
I know letters are the only way you get to know the child and it will get better. We value you so much.

This brings me to tears. I am a translator for Compassion in Mexico. I've met a lot of sponsors and their sponsored children and it always fills my heart to know how important the sponsored children are to their sponsors and viceversa. It is beautiful to see how God can connect hearts and transform many lives through love, friendship and of course, compassion. 🇲🇽❤️ Thank you for visiting your child! Not many children get to experience that. Only a few of them get to meet their sponsor in real life.

I just got back from a service trip with my high school to Costa Rica. We went to a school who taught underprivileged kids who’d either lost parents or just didn’t have enough money. I met this 10 year old girl who happened to have the same birthday as me and we got to spend the afternoon together. She spoke 3 words of english and all I knew was Hola so it was difficult to talk but I used google translate to help me out. When I left I got oddly emotional. She ran back to her classroom and gave me coins and candy which really hit home. She has so little but still wanted to give to me. Long story short, she held my hand and walked me to my bus and kissed me cheek. She truly changed my life forever and I really connected with this video❤️

But then I honestly didn't think anything of it or thought that I would get emotional myself. But when the time came, I just happened 😭

I also sponsored a child... some 20 years ago. It's extremely rewarding and I would recommend it to anyone. BUT, I gotta warn ya... haha... 20 years later, and as an adult now, she is still into me for money! "I got a new job, I need help to tide me over", "I gotta new home and I need help with the rent", " I gotta debt I can't pay!", "The electric bill is so high, please help!", "My credit card demands I pay it all off!" Be warned people, it is a lifetime commitment! And YOU will ALWAYS help!!!

I have been a sponsor for Compassion since 2018. I really wish I had learned about sponsoring a child or teen long before this. So many children need help for food, clothing, protection and education and of course they need to know that their creator loves them. I am honored to be able to sponsor a child. I feel so strongly about this program that I have told my family members about Compassion too. Think how these children would be blessed if everyone sponsored just 1 child.

This is beautiful! My sponsored child lives in Thailand, too, in the mountainous region. How cool would it be if she and your sponsor child were in the same center? My child is orphaned and just lost her sister as well. Please pray for her. It is my prayer that I may visit her one day too.

One of my five sponsor kids is near Chang Mai. I love Compassion- the interaction with the kids is incredible. I'd love to visit all of them, but medically, I can't travel much. I will focus more on writing letters more often.

Wonderful Video! We went to the wedding of our child who graduated from Compassion and took that same 6 hour mountain ride. We even stayed overnight in in the village where our child grew up. You video brings back so many emotions. I am so glad you were able to experience visiting your child. God Bless you for pouring your life into this child.

@@NelsonChengOfficial sorry just now seeing this. When a child graduates the program you have the option with caution to release your address/email to the child. Wimol found us on Facebook and sent me a message when she was out of the Compassion program. We were clearly overjoyed that she contacted us. We may not be her biological parents but when you sponsor a child as long as we had and wrote each other for years we built that relationship. We love her as our own. Merry Christmas!

Mrs Kurdi aww thats such a big heart you got there, yes this video pretty much sums it up. I feel like they really just wanted to connect you with the kid, i didn't feel like I was being scammed. I had to pay for the accommodations/meals for the driver and my translator but it wasn't much at all in Thailand. Also I was the one who requested to buy them stuff at the market, so it wasn't their request. It was a great experience, and I think it was authentic

@@mrskurd5605 I think it depends on the Method, if you do online letters they'll def receive faster, and then they'll need to translate them for the child first. So it really depends

Just got back from Compassion. I'm 9 so the story was really touching for someone my age. We released a boy named Haris would be very great to meet him. Very excited to start communicating through letters. Let me know if I you have any advice. I don't want to say anything that might hurt his feelings.

My sponsor child aged out today. I sponsored him for 6 years and I got to see him grow and become so much happier. Just started sponsoring another child and hope she will enjoy the letters.
Awww, what happens when they age out? do you still get to keep in touch with them?
They write you one last letter about what they want to do in the future and how much they appreciate you. And if you want to keep in touch with them the kids give you information on how to do that.

@@NelsonChengOfficial Hi Nelson, I am not sure 100% with Canada but I work for Compassion Australia and as long as the child doesn't move away from the area you can request a continuing contact form. We do it this way so we can just make you aware of any potential risks to you or your child direct contact may involve but it can definitely be arranged if both parties agree. Hope this helps.

Elle ISO Elohim Yes someone translate the letters, but they attach both written original copies and translation copies incase you were skeptical. And yes, it's online right now, before it used to be paper, it's so much more convenient now!

For me when i was in school i got a sponsor but we never talk Organization who took me never pay my school fees until i drop out from school with alot of fee arrors but sponser was sending to the organization money. It's painful but i thank God I'm a live now i have son Name ben in Grade 5. I'm from kenya. I wish to get a spomser for Ben so he may go far. Is my prayer for him to study cause he is very Bright.
