  • Why not? These two Godin products are well built with good quality materials and great value for the money.
My two here are slightly older models called the "Ami".......The Art and Lutherie parlour now comes with a pickup and is called the "Roadhouse" and Godin has dropped the " La Patrie" label for it's nylon string guitars and now labels them " Godin ".
The three ply laminate they use is void free and the middle ply is NOT sawdust filler which is used by some other manufacturers to reduce costs.
The price on these has gone up but the quality is still high and they are still good value for the price.
And yes, "Dieter" smokes in some of his videos solely to piss off the vegans, LGBTQ's, and anyone else who is phony who preach "tolerance" when they themselves are anything but, got it?
    it's called "satire"
    It's also called "acting", innit!

A mature man smoking a cigarette as an intro to a guitar video is surprisingly sexy.

My first guitar was a steel string I had to share with an older brother.....as soon as I had some money from working my first job ( at a Kentucky Fried Chicken as a cook when I was 15 ) I bought a nylon classical....I now have I think 6 nylon string guitars....and i absolutely love them!

I mistakenly say "stronger than a solid top" when talking about the back and sides. I meant to say " it's stronger than a single solid piece of wood".
I'm a big fan of nylon string guitars as a first guitar. I taught myself how to play on a nylon string. It is easier to "downsize" to the less wider neck of a steel string and electric if you learn how to play on the wider ( two inch is standard for a classical nut ) nylon classical guitar.
If you learn first on an electric or 1 and 11/16th or 1 3/4" steel string you're making your life more difficult. Also it's easier to learn finger style on a nylon. Nylon's are waaaaay underrated by most everyone, much to "everyone's" disadvantage in my opinion.
The Art and Lutheries ( made by Godin ) are an excellent choice here. They used to call nylon strings catgut but they were actually made from sheep, cow, and hog intestines which were more readily available than cat .

      light or medium light....12 16 24 32 42 53 or sometimes .011 -.052 in D'Addario that's their EJ13 in their 80/20 bronze or the 12-53 in their Nickel Bronze.

It's not a cigarette, it's a cee garr.......all part of the Dieter persona, otherwise known as "acting"....it's also an exercise in trying not to burn one's fingers and one's guitar lol! I actually don't even smoke fyi.......
