scale length is 25" that's from the nut to the saddle and it's 16 5/8ths inches from the nut to the 19th fret.

Yes they do...Alvarez makes some very fine guitars, unfortunately I don't have one but if money was no object there's a few I've tried i would have walked out with in a heart beat! I tried one at my friend's shop that was $4,200 I think and was every bit as nice as my Boucher and Breedlove. If I had $5000 on me that day it'd be guitar number 31!

Good to know...thank you! I think the point I was trying to make is all manufacturers should have those dimensions under the specs., one shouldn't have to search for them...it's kinda like the "bait and switch " and advertising routines you see in stores where they put all the stuff you don't need but want you to buy right near the checkout stations.

@@dietersdawgs Yea, you're right. I just know about Yamaha because I had to look up the dimensions on the FS series. I ended up buying and FS820 as my first acoustic. Really happy with it. Saving up for a FS3 or FS5 Red label Yamaha concert series.

I have three Yamaha guitars.....a custom made in Japan classical from their custom shop ordered and bought in 1999 which I waited six months for, a fretless electric bass and a fretted electric bass.....all three are fantastic guitars, you can't go wrong with Yamaha in my opinion!

Fair enough....the post is mostly a suggestion for people who do play out somewhat frequently, as I have more recently been doing just that. I have good pickups in all my acoustic guitars to cover the volume issue when I have to "compete" with the "big boys" to be heard.

Cool...I love hearing stories like yours. I have a 50 year old dreadnaught Norman which I reset the neck on and had a pro do a good fret job. Been everywhere with me and still a joy to play, although I kinda "baby" it now because I've had it so long and it's number 13 so very rare.

Did you compare it to a parlour? It's a gimmick guitar tailored for their kool aid drinking fan base who also think that awful "expression system " is a good pickup....it isn't. I think that if someone overpays for something the last thing they want to admit is that they got suckered. I don't make these claims based on hearsay, everything I talk about I've tried first hand, and all the parlour guitars I've tried play and sound better than a GS mini. A "travel" guitar is another kettle of fish. My point is that a parlour is not that much larger than a GS mini and has a full sized guitar neck and fingerboard, which alone makes it superior.

Always good to hear from you Gary...the other day I lodged a formal complaint at my bank because the last ten times I went to use their bank machine I got full screen ads showing lesbians and homosexuals holding hands and resting their heads on each other. I said where are the ads with someone like me sitting on a horse with a cowboy hat and a caption saying " ah retirement life is good?" I told them if someone not from Canada saw all their stupid ads they'd think every Canadian was either a lesbian or homosexual.....it's all gone waaaaaaay too far!

@@dietersdawgs So aaahh....what is your bank doing advertising to you when accessing your account which charges you bank fees and acts as custodian of your money? Are they surreptitiously deploying a platform intended to provide utility for now holding you hostage as target audience to subliminally suggest normality of alternative sexual arrangements? Should financial institutions play a role in developing sociological change via the ATM? Virtually nobody would take the time to hold a bank to account in this regard given the inconvenience relative to no personal return. We need more Dieters and Pik Asos stepping up and delivering common sense for the benefit of common people.

Astute comment and observation as always. They followed up with a letter to me in which I again reiterated my concerns and said that pushing some woke agenda on a loyal 50 year old customer is not only inappropriate but offensive.

You know, I'm not writing those numbers down. Watching you with your meter stick does not add to understanding. Perhaps you just make a chart with the comparative numbers, and you'll make the point, and save time.

Yes they are i have a Yamaha grand Concert classical as well as two Yamaha bass guitars they are fantastic!

@@dietersdawgs I have a Yamaha FS3 that is the nicest guitar I have ever played. I have a couple of Seagull s6 guitars that are very nice, and I’ve had a baby Taylor for 10 years or so that I enjoy lol! But those guitars are not in the same league as my Yamaha Red Label. Not even close! The Yamaha plays and sounds like a 2500 guitar, while the Seagulls sound as good as some 1500 guitars.

Thanks for your comment....yeah, a lot of people get sucked into marketing gimmicks....I let a real good player play my parlour last night after he asked me if he could try it out who had never played one and he sounded fantastic and really liked it, so now he's considering getting one!

I've had the exact same experience Paul - I had the opportunity to try one of the Maton Mini Blackwood - by far the best sounding 'travel' guitar I have heard and played. The blackwood brought the tinniness down

Those are two very good guitars....good for you. Yeah, Taylor doesn't do it for me, and the irony is Taylor's best luthier was Kim Breedlove who left and started Breedlove guitars.

What year is your Breedlove parlour?
