    Played one of these yesterday at a local shop. Picked it up just to mess around. The denim look turned my head. Damn. Playability and mojo for days. Left the shop after putting a few items on consignment. Woke up today and decided to I'm going to buy it. Can't stop thinking about it. Good sign. I'm all in.

    Got this guitar a few months ago and thought it was alright. Then I had a setup done and changed out the strings for some Tommy Emanuel’s and it brought the guitar to life for me. My Luthier says it sounds like guitar worth 3x what I got it for. Great guitar!

    I just picked up the Legacy, which has the same neck profile and scale. Wow. Seriously...wow. First, the neck is incredibly flat at 16" radius. It also has a very silky satin finish and rounded edges. These feature together produce a very fast, smooth playing experience. The sound is huge yet very defined and precise. The attention to detail, fit and finish is far greater than you would expect from this price point. Finally, the gig bag is above and beyond. A more sturdy gig bag than you get from a big brand like Fender.

I can not believe the difference I thought I purchased a dud it's amazing the difference.

    I got a deal on a Roadhouse prototype from Tom Lee and it's sound is amazing. I timed an open string sustain of a full minute! I think it's like that because it has no pickup, or pickguard to dampen the fine construction. My only complaint is the Tric case I ordered for it. I was expecting a similar parlor sized case but it's a full dreadnought size just filled with extra styrofoam! I feel like I was robbed of all the reduced bulk and space saving that the parlor size should provide when traveling. If I'm going to have to lug around a case that size I might as well have a dreadnought inside. Not too happy with that. Get the guitar, just don't buy their Tric case.

    Little guitar sounds big, is there a difference between this guitar and the Godin Parlor? Or might you know anything of the PRS parlor, if so - which is a better guitar?

  • @matthewsaul3533

    While I love Art & Lutherie parlor guitars, and owned an acoustic one before, for nearly $1K I'd expect better pickups. This has that ugly sound in it that most acoustic electrics have. I don't even know what to call it or how to describe it. Sort of rubbery, flabby sounding.. it's just one aspect of the sound but it's enough to be obnoxious. I've heard acoustic electrics that don't have that sound so I know it's possible. For the sound of these pickups, this should be a LOT less price-wise.

  • @afmartin2734
    @afmartin2734 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Why would you put electronics on what should be a boomy parlor guitar? Nice guitar, don't get putting pick ups on it.

      Portability when busking perhaps? One time on a crowded subway platform or a busy city sidewalk with a big expensive instrument will send you in this direction. Add a small battery run amp and voila!
