This is when a good manager rights the ship. Instead Boone does stuff like putting JD Davis at cleanup...he's a genius.
A good manager would never allow this level of play to happen, never mind continue. That Grissom play last night shows the level of disregard the current Yankees have for their manager and each other. I miss Billy Martin.
@@lasticonoclast 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
If they really wanna make a statement they should fire Boone. He's had plenty of opportunities and they've never been able to get it done. They're freefalling exactly the way they did last year. I get that a baseball season is filled with ups and downs, but you should never loose 14 of 19 games at any point in the season if you're a serious World Series contender.
Cashman has to go too or else he'll just hire another Yes Man.
Boone didn't put this team together. Cashman did. Except for Judge, Cole & Soto everyone must br evaluated. This is 2022 all over again.
As long as the 3 Stooges continue to run this team, it'll be the same for years to come.
Notice how Passan never answered the question. All he said is that the Yankees became the Chicago White Sox. Here's what happened. Stanton got hurt; Volpe stopped hitting; Verdugo stopped hitting; Torres never started hitting; DJ never started hitting, neither catcher can hit; the starters reverted to what they really are; did anyone think Cortes, Stroman and Rodon were world series caliber? And then the bullpen collapsed. Holmes was never a lights out closer. That's what happened.
Take Passans place bro!
Passan is usually good at his job but the media is more concerned with building storylines than simply stating the chain of events that point you directly to why they fell apart.
With the exception of last year, every year lately the Yankees start off on fire and all the fans and media starts riding them and says "Look. They've got it together," then they free fall like this and everyone acts befuddled like they shouldn't have seen it coming.
Because that was being 10 games over .500 after 86 games... Not exactly starting out on fire.
@@snerdtergusonand Judge got hurt n that was that. Having Stanton and even ThevMartian in the lineup would really fill It out. ThecasP hasn't been good. They've added like the 4rd beat era a month ago and they literally have only 4 Bp pieces that are trustworthy
The team is a little better than.500 but going nowhere. DJ and Rizzo are washed. Torres and Wells suck. Volpe is average or slightly better than average. Pitch around Judge and Soto and they've had it. Today was an aberration.
Cole comes back and the pitching goes to 💩
As a life long Yankee fans everybody not cut for New York some people get here & get too cool to play , everybody looks lackadaisical , no urgency , we can be losing by 10 and everybody looks like it’s all good I’m so tired of it

Took the Yankees losing for like 2 straight weeks for the Orioles to make up a 1 game deficit in the division.
Congratulations?

2022 all over again
their 1-9 isnt good, their whole lineup is basically judge and soto. Plus, Orioles are just better
But I thought one player can overcome anything as Ohtani haters would say 😂😂😂
Yup, they have a top heavy lineup and its starting to get exposed
Bring back Baseball Tonight
Ever since the Red Sox series teams have exposed this team being slow footed to the ball, their in field spacing and pressure to the ball is none existent, and ever since Cole has come back the pitching has become bottom of the league. Injuries aside, their defense should not be this bad. It’s panic time in the bronx
In early July 2022 the Red Sox exposed them and they went on to completely collapse
Wrong... ever since the Dodgers series. Red Sox aren't exposing anyone 😂
@@ish7957 no Juan Soto for those games. Casual fan kind of answer
@@_nwhyseebender ...and? Baseball is a team sport🤣
@@ish7957 so what makes more sense, getting exposed without one of your best players by one of the best teams in the NL, or getting exposed with a FULL lineup to a team that hadn’t caught fire yet in the Red Sox at the time.. hmmm..
they were never "best in baseball" not pitching or record.. phillies all year
Their lack of desire is really becoming evident. I'm sure the heat has something to do with it and I do somewhat feel for them but they are paid professionals.
The heat? You're not being serious are you? I really hope you're not being serious
@@maniacrailfan8060 what I'm saying when it's hot af day'after day'after day, of course it's gonna have something of an impact. Whether that should matter is my point.
The Phillies are 90 minutes away and they had the same heat ny has.
Our NY Yankees pitching have been throwing Batting Practices in the last 4 for 13 games.... now going forward, we'll need to go get verified quality pitching by the trade deadline.
Please keep sleeping on my guardians
Stro got rocked again?😢 Did he flip out in the dugout again?
I’m alarmed too Jeff
People saying it’s just a slump, lineup isn’t really good outside of a few and also the nyc expectations are huge. A lot of pressure.
It is a slump though. Verdugo is a career .280s hitter batting .240, Torres has always been one of the best hitters at second base, now he's having an awful year. The only two playing to their normal level or better, are Soto and Judge.
Ladies and gentlemen, I’m 68 years old of those 30 years of my life were spent in the United States Marine. I’ve been a Yankees fans since the days of Bobby Richardson and Joe Peppitone. If Boone would have been a Marine company commander he would have been fired two years ago; kind of hard to fire a guy now that’s 19 games over 500. Sucks having a 300 million dollar payroll playing for a wildcard. This team should have an emblem of the lion from the wizard of oz on their sleeves; no heart.
I thought that was the Tin Man 🤔

ESPN only covers the Yankees in baseball. This is so pathetic. Maybe this is partly why you’ve lost so many subscribers. Don’t get me wrong. I love New York and the Yankees are probably the best sports franchise in the US, but the world does not revolve around New York anymore.
And yet here you are, giving the video an extra view and rewarding ESPN for doing the thing you say you don't want them doing.
@@snerdterguson i’m not saying don’t cover the Yankees, but be fair and cover all contending teams
They start hot but are average as hell later in the season and it’s been like this for years so idk why anyone is surprised
LOL alarming for Baseball.
Has grisham been dfa'd yet
Its pretty obvious why theyre not playing well. Besides soto and judge who carry most of their offensive stats, most of their team sucks balls and its just caught up to them😂
Wanna know something ironic? Since June 15th, we already know the Yankees are 4-13
But the Astros are 13-4
Shaping up to be another Astros vs Yankees playoffs matchup
Nope. It will be Cleveland and Baltimore. These Yankees are done for. They peaked in the first half, just like the last two years. I've quit watching this depressing $300 million ballclub.

Die hard Yankees fan here. These players have no excuses and no championships to lean on to say they're worth a damn. I have hope that they'll turn it around, but they gotta do something about this. These past few years have been the same story: great in the beginning but get hurt and burn out in the end.

@@MrNaturalSez Thanks for the quote. All in good fun and fandom. I'm not losing sleep over them lol.
I think the Orioles are the class of the East.
The Yankees are just coming back down to earth, nobody expected them to go 50-22 by June 14th before the season began.
Who is this guy? The problem with the Yankees is they won a lot of games then lost a lot of games? Riveting insight!
The issue is that following their series loss to the Red Sox in mid June, the Yankees have been falling apart (normally I don’t care about how the Yankees do since I’m a Red Sox fan), usually a team that can dominate early in the season and stay that way would rebound after a series loss and continue leading their division, that hasn’t been the case with the Yankees so far, going into that series with the Red Sox, they were in first, 3.5 games ahead of Baltimore and 14 games ahead of Boston, now going into their game against the Red Sox tonight, they are 2 games behind Baltimore and 5.5 ahead of Boston
Heck yeah!! Go Reds!! Their pitching is pretty solid all around. If their offense can get things going consistently instead of every other game, then they could be scary. Don’t sleep on the Reds.
Easy now... it was only the Yankees.
I was at Yankees stadium yesterday and the reds are the first NL team to sweep the Yankees at home I can’t believe I witness history
I posted it at the time of the signing, Stroman would give up a ton of Home-runs at Yankee stadium, because he gives up a lot of fly balls, which tend to go out in this bandbox of a stadium. The problem with the Yankee's roster is that they are way too top heavy in salary and talent. with the remaining roster filled with guys on the steep down-side of their careers in Rizzo, DJ, with Torres also playing horribly offensively and defensively all season, and guys they could sign on the cheap,. Stanton's injury has hurt the Yankees because Cashman insured they had no viable replacement for when Stanton would invariably go on the IL for 6-8 weeks, as he does every season. Claiming an unproven guy in Jason Dominguez, coming off a serious surgery, was your go-to-guy, when athletes coming off Ulnar Collateral Ligament repair surgery often experience setbacks or incur other injuries, was pure stupidity. The Yankees have not had a viable, professional, productive bat off the bench in 3 seasons. No bonafide closer, as Clay Holmes walks too many batters, pitches to contact, gives up way too many home-runs against good offensives, and lacks a strike-out pitch, ditto for every remaining Yankee reliever. This team was winning early in the season, in large part, because the starting pitching, although not going deep into games, was limiting opponents to runs scored, and they were getting excellent offensive production from Volpe, Soto, Judge, and even Stanton was productive and always a threat at the plate, with unexpected production from Cabrerra and Trevino, both of whom have come crashing back to earth. When Soto or Judge do not hit a home-run, this team rarely scores, and they are both slumping a bit not, so bad starting pitching, combined with an entirely ineffective bullpen and minor-league line-up after the number 3 hitter spells doom.
NYY need to get it together ASAP
Teams that earn wins>teams that buy wins
Wtf does this mean 😂😂😂 Every player is getting paid. You don’t have to lose for a decade and have a bunch of home grown players just to get win or “earn” a win.
@@csoles6446 Yankees buy their way to success
Teams that tank
Teams that want to win>Teams that don’t spend their money
Yankees players are so cocky just cuz they were better than everyone doesn’t mean you be cocky. They deserve this
This is exactly what happened last year 😅😅😅
The terribly top heavy lineup is finally falling apart and the pitching staff that was looking unbelievable has come back down to earth, even after getting Cole back. Rodon is clearly not what he was before getting that big contract, Stroman has regressed, Gil was pitching way beyond what the advanced metrics were suggesting (which were saying he was still a very good pitcher, but he was the best pitcher in the game through the first two months). For both to happen at the same time is terrible luck but its basically par for the course for the Yankees. They always go through a very bad extended slump, usually in August. Maybe they're just getting it out of their system, but I doubt it cause they would need to fix basically 2/3s of their lineup to do that.
Anyone betting the Yankees take a break lost a lot with this team
#astros v. #phillies #24worldseries rematch. #gostros in 5!
Its being called the "Rizzo Curse" since it is about that time when he broke his arm and was unable to play. Not many realize what he means to this team....had he not been a small
contract player with limited time, he would have been the captain of this team....that is his value! Most importantly, it is time for Boone to go...he was given this team on a silver platter
and can't even control a good lineup.
And Grisham is in the lineup tonight hahahahahahahaha
Rizzo and Stanton are on the IL.
Boone could wear that patch 😅
Whatta disgrace man if this keep happening no playoffs for Yankees
my birthday june 15 good present lol
How is this "alarming?" This is as predictable as the run rising in the east. With Cashman as GM there will be holes everywhere on the roster. With Boone as manager the bullpen after a couple of months will be wrecked by overuse and the defensive and lineup flaws will get exploited by opponents. They'll likely make the playoffs regardless -- on the sheer historical talents of Judge and Soto -- but they'll be dead in the water. New season, same story.
Just regression. They're a good team when everyone's healthy but they're not better than the Os without Mike and Cole in top form. Still a good team
What happened? Well, the pitching regressed to the means. Luis Gil, wasn't gonna be pitching at a CY Young level forever, Rodon looks like the guy he was last season, Stroman is doing his usual thing where he get's worse as the season goes on. Cortes is fine I guess, and Coles working his way back from injury. Offensively, it's still the same old, 1 or 2 man show. You've got 5-7 guaranteed outs in this lineup.
As I posted before, what if Soto & Judge go into a slump, who's going to step up? Two people can't keep holding up the team! Comes down to coaching! At least three years this has been happening! Many better players were traded, why? Should trade Cashman & the yanks coaching staff!
I love the Cleveland Guardians. And they just traded for Garett Crocket.
And my phillies are only 4 game ahead of the Yankees. Phillies been playing like shit lately too

The Yankees are an enormously profitable and successful business enterprise regardless of whether they win or even reach the World Series:
Season Tickets.
Merchandise.
Cable subscriptions.
Streaming service subscriptions.
YES network subscriptions.
$15 Beer and $11 Hotdogs or whatever they cost now.
Exorbitant parking fees.
Like any successful business organization, the Yankees included, their purpose is to make as much money as possible. To be profitable. That's their reason for being, their raison d'etre.
