This reminds me of my early days of TF2. My team was trying to kick me because I was playing terribly and 3 of the guys on my team voted No. They said kicking this guy because he new will only show that the Tf2 community hates new players. He then friended me and showed me a few of the basics. Now because of him, I’m still playing TF2
I remember there was this one time I was playing TF2, I joined server but it was only me and this new player, I remember he was a Pyro. I was on Red while he was Blu, the match was “Payload” When the match started I first fired rockets at him, to which he tried avoid and he just stopped moving. I typed in chat “Use Airblast” he seems to understand what I mean and did an air blast. Next I told this new player that I will teach him how to air blast and I did. A few times he missed a few times to air blast my rockets (I’m a Soldier main) and he was low in Health, so I showed him where the health kits are. After a few tries he was able to deflect my rockets with the use of his airblast. And when the match was about to end I told him to push the cart so we can have more time to train. Next I chose Demoman and also taught him how to deflect his pipegrandes and same results he was able to deflect them. I also thought him to deflect the rockets of the sentry (side note: I was using the wrangler, so the sentry won’t kill him automatically) When the cart was on its last check point I allowed him to win. What he said in the chat makes me happy. He said “best teacher ever”. This makes me think I can be a good teacher. Yes this is true
i remember in my old crappy laptop i was new and some enemeys were helping me to practice spy class since some of the keyboards in the old laptop didnt work i had to change some where i couldnt reach it. and then one time in a match with the ones that helped me i pretended to be a teamate and tried to kill them as spy and i got killed cause i didnt know backstabs were more critical (thats when i was new) they were like that was a good effort cause they thought i was their real teammate. man i wish i friended thise people that helped me....
Same kinda happened to me, I wanted to master Sniper at some point, there was this idle server that was perfect for Sniper duels. Then there was this guy who frequented the server, he was a great sniper in my opinion, and although he never really taught me anything he still pretty much accepts when I want to duel with him. After dueling with him for many times, I started improving and he was happy about it. After that I just couldn't stop playing Sniper back then, but after like 2 years of not playing TF2 and coming back; playing as Sniper felt like the time I was still practicing Sniper, same with Soldier, I can't properly rocket jump when using him. Surprisingly I was only good with being a fat scout hahaha, had a lot of kills with him the last time I played.
It is SO refreshing to have Medic as a protagonist in a TF2 story. Usually, he's either the support character ( pun intended ) or the drive of the plot (ex. Heavy dies and someone calls for medic to revive him, and then Heavy continues his wacky quest. ) And it's not the cliche, Medic is being taken for granted or the mercenaries won't stop calling for him either! I'd love to see more of Medic getting into crazy shenanigans along with the other crazy TF2 buddies! Keep it up man! The video was awesome!!

F2P’s are like ordinary clay. You can change them in the early stages and every single thing affects them negatively or positively. Later, the clay will harden and it will be hard to change it. This SFM is an example of this. Instead of the expoerenced medic being like “THIS TEAM SUCKS. UNISTALL THIS GAME YOU NOOB”, he teaches them from his experience and passes it down along the line.
actually... i kinda like it... it shows that... 'effort' one puts into their work... plus it kinda seperates it from other SFM's out there... it has that 'special charm' that distinguishes it
I agree. When a new player joins a server, most of the time they're vote-kicked after 1 round. We should be helping new players learn how to play, not discourage them from playing TF2.

Brilliant work! As a Medic main, it's always good to see the guy in the spotlight. Expected him to be a pushy tryhard who blames his team for failure, but instead we got a prime example of what a veteran Team Captain should be. And even though Autobalance is (thankfully) a thing of the past, it made for a great twist at the end, topped off like an ice cream sundae by the great gag to finish the film! Outstanding work all around. :D
Ace in the Hole i kinda missed auto balance. Because I would be in a team of 3 going against 12 players. What i would do is only force auto balance when there is actually unbalanced teams
Fair point, but in my experience it seems matchmaking has gotten much faster from what I heard it used to be, so teams get rebalanced by new players joining relatively quickly. I say "from what I heard" because TBH I only started playing this game last December. Seems like a great year for my first Saxxy Awards though!
Ace in the Hole Matchmaking has gotten a lot better after meet your match. But that happens a lot during major updates. And this has my vote for the saxxys! Along with 20 other SFMs lol

I got to admit, this is one of the greatest videos I have to watch from Blu Team. I felt bad Medic got autobalanced, at least Blu they had someone good to help them
Autobalance shouldnt be removed, instead it should be based off of a criteria, such as lowest points or lowest kills or somethin, or if someone is gonna get autobalanced, people can i either volunteer to change place and/or it will be by vote if the player should be autobalanced, then after that, the criteria will come into play.

As a Medic main, this video makes me happy to see that the main Medic's team remembers him after he got auto-balanced. Whenever I play Medic, everybody could care less about me except for the other Medics. I have 24 points and over 37 hours as Medic and a little over 100 hours of total TF2 playtime. Why do I have to always be the Medic that nobody cares about?
Same. We'll be locked down behind a wall, unable to push up, I'll be healing people *as they are actively being shot at*, and someone will waste time typing in the chat that they need healing. Hell, some days I even run the Amputator so that when those situations happen, I can heal 4 people at once and shut them up. I once even ubered a Pyro who destroyed a sentry nest and 5 people, to the dismay of the Trolldier who had demanded the Uber; when we later lost, he decided it was because I ubered Pyro instead of him. But it's all worth it for those moments where your pocket goes on a rampage and tops the scoreboard, and I appreciate every Heavy who has ever tossed me a sandwich.
This is far from how this video went, but I recall my team was struggling with defeating a sewer nest. I was playing Soldier at the time, and I told everyone to wait. I racked up some damage to get my rage up, told everyone to charge on my mark (when the horn blows), and in a single push, we decimated the nest. My team was really greatful and we ended up winning. I know its not like I trained them and stuff, but I felt good having been a help to them. It feels great when you have done a game changing thing (or just get praised for your actions).

This is quite literally the best SFM I've ever seen, the animation might not be perfect and there are little mess ups here and there but damn does it have a story. It's funny, heartwarming and relatable. Which is probably the main thing missing in most TF2 SFMs Things like Secret Lives and the majority of The Winglets SFMs are great, but don't match up to the game. Congrats sir.

The choice of Medic as the captain is extremely big brain seeing that Medic is the class that sees the most out of any other class (at least should, giving overheals to everyone and whatnot) and so they have the most tips to give to everyone I love it! I love how the BLU Medic gained and improve the confidence of the Scout and made him trust more on himself, on his team and that he could lead his team and I love the end in which the scout returned the favor and trust.
What I liked about this animation is that as the side of the team played by the heroes of the animation, this is the Blu team. And I don't think it was just that. In some circles of the TF2 community, the Blues are considered the weakest, most unfortunate and constantly losing team. While the red team symbolizes permanent victory. In the official shorts from Valve, the blu ones are exactly what they lost to the original mercenary team (+ they are still red). In some other animations, the blues are either antagonists (while the heroes are red) or as losers whose plans constantly fail. And it seems to me that the message of this video lies not only in how a real captain should behave, who should support his team, but also in the fact that no matter who you play for (Blu or Red), you can win. Drop the stereotypes and rush along with your team to victory, helping her and supporting her, and in the end your work will be appreciated. I like it.

As a Medic main, this video makes me happy to see that the main Medic's team remembers him after he got auto-balanced. Whenever I play Medic, everybody could care less about me except for the other Medics. I have 24 points and over 37 hours as Medic and a little over 100 hours of total TF2 playtime. Why do I have to always be the Medic that nobody cares about?
Same. We'll be locked down behind a wall, unable to push up, I'll be healing people *as they are actively being shot at*, and someone will waste time typing in the chat that they need healing. Hell, some days I even run the Amputator so that when those situations happen, I can heal 4 people at once and shut them up. I once even ubered a Pyro who destroyed a sentry nest and 5 people, to the dismay of the Trolldier who had demanded the Uber; when we later lost, he decided it was because I ubered Pyro instead of him.
But it's all worth it for those moments where your pocket goes on a rampage and tops the scoreboard, and I appreciate every Heavy who has ever tossed me a sandwich.

This is far from how this video went, but I recall my team was struggling with defeating a sewer nest.
I was playing Soldier at the time, and I told everyone to wait. I racked up some damage to get my rage up, told everyone to charge on my mark (when the horn blows), and in a single push, we decimated the nest.
My team was really greatful and we ended up winning.
I know its not like I trained them and stuff, but I felt good having been a help to them.
It feels great when you have done a game changing thing (or just get praised for your actions).

This is quite literally the best SFM I've ever seen, the animation might not be perfect and there are little mess ups here and there but damn does it have a story. It's funny, heartwarming and relatable. Which is probably the main thing missing in most TF2 SFMs Things like Secret Lives and the majority of The Winglets SFMs are great, but don't match up to the game.

The choice of Medic as the captain is extremely big brain seeing that Medic is the class that sees the most out of any other class (at least should, giving overheals to everyone and whatnot) and so they have the most tips to give to everyone I love it! What I liked about this animation is that as the side of the team played by the heroes of the animation, this is the Blu team. And I don't think it was just that. In some circles of the TF2 community, the Blues are considered the weakest, most unfortunate and constantly losing team. While the red team symbolizes permanent victory. In the official shorts from Valve, the blu ones are exactly what they lost to the original mercenary team (+ they are still red). In some other animations, the blues are either antagonists (while the heroes are red) or as losers whose plans constantly fail. And it seems to me that the message of this video lies not only in how a real captain should behave, who should support his team, but also in the fact that no matter who you play for (Blu or Red), you can win. Drop the stereotypes and rush along with your team to victory, helping her and supporting her, and in the end your work will be appreciated. I like it.
