Hey, trying to follow a build from this is very chaotic. Any chance you could just list all the traits to go for? Maybe a pic you could make an add a link to in the description, since it's too late to get it into the video?
@@JohnDBlue hot.fandom.com/wiki/Traits here, this will make it easier. That way you can check out all the available options and what makes the most sense for any build. For builds like these here, I pick whatever causes the most attacks
It can also be fun to use the Exterminator with the ring that turns your damage into electric damage. He doesn't lose the burn damage either, so you can stack both electrify and burn damage that way.
I found that going cleric with the lightning ring is a better electrify build. If you use your 3 x2 on the 50% range, 20% damage (2 times) and the 0,4 atk amount along with the 22% more proc on main weap I could get electrify to tick on almost all the invincible ghost knights for 4000-5700 when attack speed powerup was active. Highest electrify dps was around 360k/sec. Very amusing.
Transfixion, Ring Blades with both upgrades on each. Used doubler potion on additional lasers, AND the hunter gloves. 6 beams that can all hit single target like a shotgun blast. Killed Aqueduct last boss while afk looking at other screen. Just stood in it. It was my final quest for level 100. All done and waiting for update in August. When I did electrify quest I had Lightning, Kugel, and Astronomers Orbs. All of them with electrify upgrades and picking electrify chance. Astronomers Orbs with electrify and inner circle spinning super fast and huge. It made it easier but that was pure luck that I got them all.
The wait is killing me, already got the achievements and I'm only playing a couple of rounds a day so that I buy all the items but other than that it's nothing but the wait.
I've been trying the 20 stacks achievement for days. I've had runs so perfect, I've had electrify damage numbers so high above 2000, both on the ghost wall and the final boss, I can't even comprehend why I didn't unlock the achievement. I will strictly follow every step of this video. And I will fail again to unlock it.
You just likely had affliction, which increases the damage per stack but then the stack damage value can't easily be used to figure out the stack amount.
is there a reason why you don't record or render the video in 16:9? the last few HoT videos all seem very distorted and i get motion sickness because it just looks so weird on youtube, and i am not sure what it is
I record all videos not in fullscreen but either windowed borderless (if available) or windowed because OBS can have an issue where it just freezes whatever last frame it had before going fullscreen for the entire recording. Though all that does is add the small bars on the sides to compensate for the loss in height, so I am not 100% sure how that affects you in such a way, given the ratios should still all be the same
In another video I had 7 tickets total picked up, with 1 remaining on the stage because I rushed to the ghost wall top right. That's where this confusion came from because I was used to 9 tickets, so I expected to get 8 (and have the one bottom left still on the stage)
Lightning strike has a upgrade that just increses its electrify chance so that is probably better then one of the wepons. You are also not picking the lightning strike upgrade that adds 50% electrify chance. Every ligtning strike could have been applying 2.5 stacks instead of one.
Unless there is something to it I misunderstood, the lightning strike upgrade only applies to the stun area and gives a 50% chance to Electrify. Since the wiki usually mentions when something can happen multiple times (e.g. the crit electrify from the Sorceress is counted as an extra, so if you apply it per chance anyway, now you apply 2) I don't assume that this would apply 2 stacks, but it could.
@DexTag I've been trying to do the no move challenge on 3rd map (did it on first map, including boss), maybe tried like 30 times so far. I got the boss to 10% hp with the shieldmaiden (using fencer's gloves) once but never got that close again (got really lucky with item drops, including revive ring). I think the cleric is better at killing the boss, i got to him twice with cleric but its very hard to get to him and always low hp (like ~300, no revives left) and got him to 4700 electrify damage before dieing quickly. I really think it's possible would love to see you try it! Shieldmaiden seems to be better overall but I really think the cleric would kill the boss easily if you can somehow survive with enough hp.
I have a content suggestion: Try to get the biggest possible cleric smacks on the boss using debuffs like fragile, rats etc. Would be nice to see how much dmg you could do with 1 slap
Should be pretty easy on the 3rd stage. Just make sure to only get the lightning strike and use a character that is powerful enough to take care of the early mobs. Once you're powerful enough, just head up or down long enough until you hit the ghost wall and just rack up the damage. It's the easiest way to get the 3 million damage unlocks.
For stacking stacks, wouldn't the "Electrify on critical" be the best option if you ramp up the crit chance like crazy? Is there a crit chance cap? Just curious. I had a lot of trouble getting this achievement until I lit the Wraith Boss like a Christmas tree.
The electrify on crit upgrade only applies to the sorceress' chain lightning, which doesn't attack very fast even with all the best attack speed upgrades
@@justinjacobson5630 I understand, but then wouldn't it be better to pick the other upgrades then instead of the 15% chance to electrify? Or do those traits apply to all skills in addition to the main attack? Given that the main attack is not as fast as it needs to be.
What do you mean by picking what else? The electrify on critical only applies to the main weapon and the 15% electrify too, meaning you can go for the 10% crit chance ring but it doesnt change that much
@@DexTag Had to go play the Sorceress because I could not remember the name of the traits! Just gave it a try and you indeed can reach 100% crit, using the tincture on Proficient Stance that gives additional crit chance, as well as the ring. What I meant was that, instead of going for Weapon Proficiency Voltage I and II ("15% Effect on hit chance"), go instead for Strength (+ damage and crit damage), but on WP III go for 100% electrify on crit, while pumping crit with other traits (Going double on Proficient Stance that ups the crit, crit ring, Crit chance I-V, etc) so that all hits are crits and thus electrify. At any rate, I got an answer on my own because the "100% on crit" from WP III is an added, guaranteed roll given on crit apart from the roll that you get from the hit itself. Using the tincture on WP III gives you an additional guaranteed electrify roll, so in theory I think you could get 3 stacks of electrify on an auto attack with a crit.
@@Estmaraver I still can't fully follow. I went all out on crit yea, but the damage choice wouldn't change anything about electrify, it would only bump up damage which I wanted to avoid (pretty much for the reason what happened in the boss fight). Electrify Chance can go beyond 100% and apply multiple stacks, but this has been a bit iffy in my experience. E.g. for burning chance, I never ended up getting multiple stacks despite being told I would. All in all, the Chain Lightning has a 30% chance to apply Electrify as a base (though increased by the gold power up you can buy), which is quite low. The char starts with 10% crit, while the crit chance trait adds 25% for 35% and the proficiency adds another 20% for 55%. The tinkture is correct, but keep in mind the attack itself of the char is just not very good. hot.fandom.com/wiki/Sorceress here is btw a summary of these things.
A friend I was talking about the game with was kind of suspicious of the whole "XP bunched up together is worth more thing" and I didn't really have a better explanation than "Dex said so" so I'm just wondering how you came to figure it out. Did you test the XP gains on level 1 with very few enemies to see it or something like that?
The Ring Blade upgrade is magical, and it shoots out 2 projectiles per Ring Blade. So if you upgrade the Ring Blades attack speed, you pretty much apply twice the amount to the upgrade.
I'm finding it impossible to unlock the Sorceress. The closest I can get is about 8k kills with the Exterminator. Those final waves at the end of the Viaduct are just so oppressive I have no idea how anyone can survive it.
Just keep unlocking more achievements. Do you have the level 3 and level 6 upgrades unlocked for a decent amount of the weapons you have? And of course get more blessings. Sorceress was the last one I unlocked, but when I tried it, it was rather effortless. I didn't realize there was still 1 more character left to unlock until just before I tried it, so I was ready for it long before that attempt. Heck, once you've done like 2/3rds of the achievements, you've gained so many buffs and options that lasting 30 minutes and beating the bosses is cake. That's just how valuable the unlocks are overtime since you'll also unlock new, powerful traits that help a great deal towards growing more powerful.
The issue is for the bossfight itself, you only have 1 enemy that you want to hit. Meaning at that point all that matters is how fast can a weapon hit a single enemy. And while the aura is absolutely amazing at hitting a huge amount of enemies (we did a run focused on the aura before), it's way worse than any other weapon we had here
It is pretty OP though. I also think they should remove the experience necklace. There's no reason to use anything else right now. They should replace it with a blessing that does the same thing.
@@xGaviJax Some necklaces might be very good, but they don't compare to being able to get levels a lot faster. Other necklaces have no benefit above the experience necklace until after you've maxed out your offensive abilities for a few weapons, which at minimum is early level 80 (but in practice closer to level 90-95). Just look at this run. Everything melted away in no time, including the boss.
Do you really think that the Lightning Affinity was needed to get more than 20 stacks here? Like, really? A 15% proc chance? A solo weapon can get you the 20 stacks, the entire video is the definition of overkill.
Yea, the only issue is oftentimes neither of them is good and on many characters even those that are fine are rarely worth doubling. So when I hesitate which one I want, it's really not a "I want both" and more a case of "okay which one is less bad", unless the trait is specifically one I chose for the build (which happens often with the Archer, who gives bonus projectiles, but the other one just gives more to the Bow, which I'd never care about)
@@DexTag priest pair with multihit and flat damage are insane, I think you can find few more pairs on other chars, but yeah. I was just really surprised you can use mem flasks like this ))
I think I had 5 crashes so far, for 60 hours thats quite manageable. But it really sucks while recording, especially when it's at times where the build is heavily luck reliant to get the right thing
For electrify stacks? If you get the right weapons its really easy, if not then its kinda difficult. The main benefit of stage 1 is that the boss is entirely isolated, he wont spawn anything, so even if you miss gold upgrades and equipment you can do it really early there.
