    I have the brushless version,and the entire 6s Arrma line up,a JLB Cheetah and a 3s Typhon,the Losi is the most fun,almost impossible to break,when it comes to fun ,these things are the best bang for the $$$$$,hands down!

      Thinking on getting one to bash and race on weekends think it will hold up. Looking at the losi cause son had a slash before and I know already the weakpoints on a slash.

    For the most part, this RC checks all the boxes. LCG Chassis, metal trans, 2WD. The body shape it has is just okay for me and I wish they wouldn't have done the bottom mounted battery thing. But I can get over that stuff and the body can be changed. If I were to pick this up, it'd probably be the brushless version at $250 is a pretty good price. I think this brushed version goes for $189 so I think the step up would be well worth it.

    TL;DR: The electronics, all of them, are junk. Spend a few more bucks on eBay and get a Hobbywing ESC, a second-hand Traxxas RTR servo, and a second-hand Titan 550. Otherwise, a great first truck!
    My friends and I bought three of these to start learning SCT racing. Right out of the box, my servo was completely gacked. Wouldn't turn left anywhere near as much as it could turn right. I removed it, re-centered it just in case, checked my endpoints/dual rate/etc, and no. Something internally must be broken or misaligned. Whatever, it's cheap servo, I replaced it with a spare I had laying around. No big deal.
    Twenty minutes into race and chill and one of the trucks burns a motor. Two minutes after that, another truck fries the ESC. Mine is the only one still running, but again, my servo was junk from the box.
    If it were just the one truck that had an issue so early, I could chalk it up to a fluke. Sometimes even the best, most top shelf brands let the occasional turd slip through quality control. But all three of our trucks, on the same day, within an hour? For context, were on an indoor green carpet track. We were all running the same 2s 25c Venom 5000mah lipo hardpack, and we weren't bashing them. We bumped into one another few times, yeah, because we're noobs to racing, but not to RC. While they still ran, they all drove beautifully, particularly for the price.
    I don't know who to point a finger at here. Horizon? Losi? I dunno. We're not even mad, just disappointed. Cheapo Hobbywing electronics and spares bin servos cost pennies, so it's not that big a deal to us. But imagine being totally new to the hobby and this is your first truck. Back to the hobby shop for a return or warranty repair. I feel bad for the kid who gets this as their first hobby grade RC. Much like the old HPI E10 was for me, I can imagine it would almost immediately dampen their enthusiasm for the hobby.

      The spindly looking front end looks like toothpicks ready to snap first cartwheel. 4wd are so much tougher just because of the lower control arm and hub. The only 2wd I would get is a sand rail, like a gas rovan, or a kyosho scorpion/ beetle.

    • @portalsam7
      @portalsam7 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you were asking a general question you should have either a low voltage alarm or a cutoff on the esc if you are using a lipo battery (I usually cutoff around 3.4v/cell and my batteries have lasted for a few years now but 3.2v/cell is probably the lowest you want to go). As for this truck in particular I'm not sure if the esc has a low voltage cutoff, but you can probably find the manual for it online which should tell you if it does or not.

      That's fair. I don't know what happened in your case but that's a MT & 4WD as you know. Bigger tires with more strain on the servo, heavier, more parts to break. etc. Why I'm a 2WD guy. Simply less to break.

    for the money I would take a slash 2wd over this... to many issues with batt door and the ESC are made with the lowest standards and they just don't last. also No receiver box. water resistant is questionable. don't dare hit a puddle.

    I would not buy this or recommend this truck to anyone period. The servo saver is too weak, so when you tighten it you blow up the pathetic servo.
