    Just to add my two cents.
    Swordfighter: 100 % agree, they are ok at base, but really it is their promotion that lets them shine. Still a commendable nuance if the enemy squad is The Three Musketeers.^^
    Radiant Knight: Again, 100 % agree. They are great and only get more ridiculious on promotion. Prime candidats for Lapis and Sapphire Pendants. Also they make absolute great use of any kind of assist item, like First Aid Kits, Status Medallions, etc.
    Wyvern Knight: I think you forgot to mention that Dragoon Dive completely redefines how they work, since their tank capabilities are "turned off" while charging the ability. This can turn into an issue in the mid to late game, so you have to prioritise if you want to focus on their claws or on their scales.^^
    Arbalest: In my opinion you completely undersold Quick Reload. That ability alone is dangerous. Medical Aid (in german it is called "Wundarzt" an old term for surgeon^^) is ok, but is a bit underwhelming.
    Dark Knight: Gimme a high five, Titanium, for we Dark Knights in spirit have no one else. And i agree their tanking prowess is ridiculious. Though once promoted they need a bit more than 2 PP to make full use of their synergistic kit. Also they are good candidates for the lantern items, since any kind of affliction ruins their day, especially if Werefoxes are around to capitalise on them.
    Priestess: Jup, Scarlet is one of, if not the best support unit in the game. Passive Miracle is such a great ability. Small tip, combine her with an Elven Archer like Ridiel. Pure Field into Passive Miracle into Selfless Heal is such a great combo. You have immunity to debuffs/ailments for the first turn of combat and can undo assist attacks.
    Dark Marquess: Yeah, i think it goes without saying, if out of the ten available squads i saved Berengarias unit for the last upgrade to 5-man, because a Squad with her is just that good throughout the entire game.
    Crusader/Valkyria: Agreed again. Though she can have a hard time against Breakers or any squad assisted by a Viking. Or a full wolfpack. So yeah, later she needs a co-tank to take some pressure off of her. (Also Maidens Hammer is called "Wrath of the Maiden" in german)
    Prince: Just a small tip. Give Gilbert a Plume and some Agility Drops. Initiative is the stat he so desperetaly needs. Also a scarf on him makes him also decently dodgy, so he doesn`t have to fear piercing attacks. (In german all his abilities have the "Befehl zum/zur" in their name, which translates to "Order to", which is a nice touch to older german language)
    Elven Augur: I recently found out that Elemental Roar is a ranged and not a magical attack. Now Rosalindes entire combo is "Spirit Wrath" (Rage of the Fairies in german) into Elemental Roar (Or Elemental Outburst in german) buffed by a Flame Conferral as an opener. Thunder and Ice Conferral are propably better choices for an opener, but i just love setting things on fire.
    Elven Sibyl: Having her in a pure elven squad right now and hitting lvl 35 i am still figuring out how to utilise Elemental Impetus for a Primus Edge into Impetus into Elemental Roar combo to add a big offensive pay off into this more defensive squad.
    Elven Fencer: Agreed with you 100 %. They need their entire kit to peak and even then it can be hard to figure out how to build them for great effect. I think they can be decent dodgetanks, but then they definitely need to attack before their enemies for their Mirage Stab to kick in.
    Elven Archers: Between all four archers (five if you want to count Yunifi), they are definitely the more defensive support. Mystic Conferral is basically asking to be put on Row attackers and Icicle Arrow is best used if set to "prioritize backline" and "not frozen". Two Elven Archers basically can freeze 4 out of 5 enemies and allow you to prepare something big without fear of interruption. Or play Ice Cracker with your enemies if you have the weapons for that.^^

    23:41 Funny thing is I built my elven archers to just be slapped on any team. In fact I stopped using clerics after a while because I found the elven archers were so much better because of their ice arrows, being both and offensive and defensive attack, along with the team wide healing at the end of battle.
    The build is give them 3 PP, turn off all passives except Pure Field and Selfless Heal, and give them a first aid kit with the tactic that says "user." This way they start the battle with the debuff prevention field, and at the end of the battle they first aid themselves which then heals the entire party. The fact that they also get to shot two enemies with ice arrows is the cherry on top

    It sucks that Crusaders/Valkyria's can only benefit from the guard rate increase of only one shield at a time, but pairing the Blue Rose Shield she comes with, with a magic defense increasing shield such as the phantom shield or a shield that resists certain debuffs like stun and guard seal makes her actually really tanky. Pairing that with her limited aoe skill, and she'll easily have 100% guard rate with very high defense. Pairing her with Berengaria and Amalia as well as some supporters in the backline makes a really strong girlboss team lol

    Arbalest skill quick reload is very good. Especially if the first shot is block, usually quick reload will hit. And a quick reload can actually kill of a backline archer or mage or a frontline thief.

      @@scragglieHeck, one Carneol Pendant and a combination of Rage of the Fairies into a Conferral Boosted Elemental Roar is already a strong opener. Ice Conferral basically neutralises the entire enemy squad so you can prepare a second nuke like Blizzard. There is a reason Yahna and Rosalinde are such good friends.^^

    I used to put Augur and Sibyl together until I discovered that only a SINGLE "Activates at the start of battle" trigger can happen per fight. Since they both have those triggers that build them fairies, I decided to split them up. I find that all Elven units are primarily meant for support; they generally work better without other Elven units.

    I ended the game with Yuffie and 4 magic elf archers and I was amazed at how well the team functions. Yuffie and kne eld are my dodge tanks. They help do Yuffie do chip damage and sustain nicely. I fave one a tent and another single person heal. The end game winds up putting lots of debunks on your characters and their active ability to negate debunks for the whole Tema and individually saved me many times. The multiple ice arrows and stacking of -50 evasion on the wind arrows all stacks...still my best team after beating the game. They were strong beforeeYuffie, but Yuffie is a beast.

    Gilbert is my son and I love him so much. The insane irony of the bard character in Final Fantasy 4, Edward, was named Gilbert in Japanese, and with Bards being the class that "Buffs" other characters through song, it gave me a very interesting doubletake. Is that actually an easter egg? We've already borrowed from Fire Emblem and Ogre Battle. Who knows, maybe there are other references to other series we aren't seeing.
    ...Or I could be huffing an INTENSE amount of copium.

      I actually turned Melisande into a dodge tank that has almost as much dodge as a flying unit. All you need is a Lapis Pendant, a Royal Scarf and a Sword with dodge stats like the Sylph Swords or the one from the windgate. Then you just turn off her first strike and then you basically go Meteor Slashes into Sharpen into her Keen Edge and still have one PP to activate parry just in case one attack manages to hit. Heck you could add a Barbarian Sword into the mix if you want to taunt.^^
      But i agree, Swordfighters and Swordmasters are primarily duelist units in a squad-based game. The moment a unit with a solid blockrate comes around, they start to fall off. But if you want to use them offensively, i recommend the Dancers Sword and Dancers Anklet combo. As long as they crit they regenerate their AP and Swords Dance keeps their crit rate stable enough to crit repeatedly, so other units can remove the tanky units and Swordmaster then becomes a backline cleaner.

    The way you feel about Radiant knight is how I feel about Sword fighters and vice versa.
    I've tried to like Radiant knights, but they keep dying and seem to suck to matter who I put them up against. They're my least favorite units.

    • @UrAverageGamer9000

      You could try keeping them in the back row to provide healing and magic shields. I also found they're a bit fragile in the front unless you give them a really good or unique shield.

    • @somuchnope2
      @somuchnope2 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Radiant knights aren't good in the front row. I use them there anyway because I don't buy generics and always end up short on tanks since I divide units based on rapport efficiency, but they usually die more than my front line swordfighters even

    Does anyone else hate that only Alain, Scarlet and Virginia are the only unique classes that upgrade into another class? It makes me not want to use Gilbert despite how much I love him because he's someone that just feels like a support version of the swordfighter because he just boosts everyone and sometimes swings out his banishing stab.

    • @UrAverageGamer9000
      @UrAverageGamer9000 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Did you skip a cutscene maybe? He joins once you complete the Soldraga battle and there was a cutscene related to Viriginia where you have to say 'yes'

    • @GentleIceZ
      @GentleIceZ 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You have to do a few things correctly in order to get him. It's only two things, but he is a missible character. He joins at the end of the Drakenhold story, so if you beat "Heir to the Dragonlands" and still haven't gotten him, you missed him
      Step 1: Recruit Aramis. He is recruited in "The General in Black" by talking to him with Primm, who is also recruited in that mission
      Step 2: In "Heir to the Dragonlands," during the cutscene where Virginia asks Alainn a question, select "agree to speak with him" and Gilbert joins after the mission

    • @AttnDefDis_
      @AttnDefDis_ 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I completed the final mission in Drakenhold and he stayed to serve there. I was dumbfounded. I reloaded my save and realized you have to complete the mission to the right of the castle first. So long as you have Aramis, everything should work out and Gilbert will join you.

    • @aureliodeprimus8018
      @aureliodeprimus8018 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, i think in order to recruit him, you have to go with his plan, meaning after defending the coliseum you have to meet him at the fort before storming Soldraga castle. He joins you after the mission, though i am not sure if he does so automatically or if you have to talk to him afterwards.

    I still kind of yhink jagen id rrally the only thing that directly translates from fire emblem. Think the other forms of it of it almost end up being a pit fall. Like why is it that that leveling to get skills is an active downside for elven classes but the early game ones that don't get anything decent till like level 15 or so are fine? Like not trying to say it isn't a downside they can't immediately make use of all their stuff. But like they'd be obsurdly over powered if they could. Calling them a growth unit is a bit unfair.
