If you've played with people who are damage oriented (LoL Midlaners and Ranged DPS, Overwatch Snipers, and Dual Blade Monster Hunters), they would rather have the enemy dead faster than worry about healing and surviving. I've been there before since I play support roles in these games (Braum, Mercy, Hunting Horn, etc.) They rush in without any prior acknowledgement, and demand healing or protection later on in the fight. THEN they say they're the sole reason why they won the fight. There are some good people out there who appreciate my kind, but it's few and far in between.
Muscleheads basically. Thinking they can outdamage the damage being done to them, on paper it makes sense. Why need a healer if you can kill enemies before they damage you? In practice it does not work most of the time. I'm the opposite when not playing my support role (I main support). I am at the mercy of our healers/supports. I beg for immunity buffs, because the last thing I want is a fucking debuff because I have this sin of not paying attention to my status icons. So I'm not seeing if I'm afflicted with a debuff. Which is ironically why I can actually see the point of many of the "Hero" parties in these types of stories. According to Murphy's law, given enough time, anything that can go wrong eventually will.
