    Top recommendation. This thing is epic and my 3yr old has abused it and nothing has broken. Mine also came with a faulty remote. Car steers itself but luckily had another hbx 16889 brushed and that remote works perfectly. Excellent channel and this guy makes me feel enthusiastic about rc

    • @DerbyCityRC
      @DerbyCityRC  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I feel it could have gotten a bit of extra power, but I still enjoyed it. It wheelies, but it can’t hold one for long lol. So ya you’d think they would have made it so it could hold one atleast a little longer. I actually had no idea those wheels were supposed to spark 🤣

      @@DerbyCityRC Yeah it isn't terrible or anything but not very exciting I would say or as exciting as others in its category. It just seems to be lacking. Not sure if it is on the box?

    • @DerbyCityRC
      @DerbyCityRC  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@DerbyCityRC do I sense an upgrade video coming soon?? Lol
      This truck looks like it has great potential, just like most hbx rcs.
      I’m really surprised at how the wheelie bar broke and the dogbone bent so bad. I hope hbx didn’t downgrade the materials they use.
      My 16889 has been through hell and back the past couple years and only a couple parts have broken.
      How would you compare this to the 16889?

    • @DerbyCityRC
      @DerbyCityRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree and was thinking the same thing. I know I’ve had a few 16889a dog bones pop out, but I don’t recall them bending like that ever. It didn’t happen again so could have just been a really bad landing, but that’s also now two bad hbx remotes lately. I sure hope that’s coincidental too!
      I may upgrade this car but technically that 16889 I made longer and wider would be how I do it so not sure lol

    Very cool/fun video Evan. It is a lot like the 16889A Pro but non Pro in some ways for sure 😉 Seems durable enough though, not bad handling either. Hey, thought for you. You should make a ramp of the back side of your big ramp make it a 2 way jumper then no more crashing into the back side of it. Hing it so you can flip it over onto the ramp to keep it easy to move around. Again A+++ on the video (Man, Max is getting BIG!!!)

    Great video, thank you. Do you know of metal upgrade parts that are available besides gearing? I was also thinking the WLTOYS 1/14 scale RC would probably have interchangeable parts, as both these RC are on the WLTOYS website.

      Thanks! I don’t know for sure. Ali express seems to have more of that stuff, but I’ve never used them. The Wl toys definitely does not have interchangeable parts. They’re completely different vehicles. That’s interesting it’s on the wl website, but it’s probably not an official website. There are websites out there (some real, some scams so be careful) that list different brands even though it’s something like “Haiboxingrc.com.”

    Awesome video like usual! So Haiboxing has/had a promo for the 2105 "Duel" here in Canada. The "Duel" is the brushed 390 version. What parts list do you figure I would need to setup the "Duel" on brushless? The 2105A would have came close to $215 to get to me in Canada, but the "Duel" only cost me $89 with this promo haha. Cheaper than my son's 16889 brushed with the same 390 motor and my daughters 18858 with the 380 motor lol. I guess I would need a brushless motor, a new esc and would I need to do something else? First off love your videos! Just getting into the hobby with a 16889a pro per your recommendation and loving it. I keep loosing the pins in the front cvds any idea where I can get those, Thnx and keep up the good work

      I hope he replys to this comment too, but you can't get just the pins I don't think. I've used small finish nails and cut them to size. Works in a pinch, but I did see they make ones with a cvd joint instead. I wonder if that would be stronger? Evan? Thoughts?

    • @DerbyCityRC
      @DerbyCityRC  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s actually been a while since I lost one of those, but if I remember right, the same 2mm x 10mm wheel pins fit. I might be wrong. I haven’t seen any of the cv joint ones specific for this car. Once you get that sorted, you may be able to wrap one tight layer of electrical tape around the spring to keep it from loosening and allowing the pin to fly out. There’s not much room between the hub and axle though. Hope this helps!!

      Ok I couldn’t remember if the pins were the same or not. I have some 1.5mm pins as well so maybe I’ve used those. Hopefully that e-tape works!

    Does this 2 battery connector for the esc increase the final speed?

    • @DerbyCityRC
      @DerbyCityRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      The lipo usually gets it a hair faster than the stock lithium ion, but I’m talking less than a mph. Using the connector doesn’t add speed or voltage, only battery run time.

    If a lot more people was like me I wouldn't purchase any vehicle without oil filled shocks or a brushless motor. Why would you do that. If people would do that maybe these companies would put oil filled shocks and brushless engines and all their vehicles. They got to realize this is the 2000s not 1917. Yeah they want to make money off of that stuff. Make money the right way You can make money off your stuff when stuff breaks then we'll buy it. People would be more likely to buy your vehicles if they had brushless engines and oil filled shocks. And like I said when things break then we will buy parts then you can make your money that way. Thanks for listening. God bless you all.😮😊😊
