    Just an FYI(if zip ties dont hold the shaft to the body for you) and money saver, unbolt the front driveshaft flange, mark the center spline in front of the center support bearing and remove the front half only. It keeps you from needing to remove and replace the rear flange bolts. The center support bearing bolts were frozen in the one i worked on and was a pain to get off as well.

    Will the stock transmission hold 500whp?

      It has for 10k miles so far

      NAG1 is rated for 737 lbft torque, which boils down to being able to take over 700 hp on stock internals no problem.

      @@kylepartridge5090 no it isn't. W5A580 is rated for 580 newton meters which is about 428 ft/lbs

    • @kylepartridge5090
      @kylepartridge5090 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@nicklashway6636 pretty sure Wikipedia’s data is incomplete because the S600 and the SRT use the same variant of the transmission and the S600 has 612lbft stock. There used to be another row in that chart about power ratings that had one made for 737lbft. They aren’t going to use a transmission in the SRT that has only a couple of lbft of wiggle room.

      @@kylepartridge5090 I own an srt8 and yes, that is what the transmission is rated for. The name of the transmission is W5A580. The 580 part of the name stands for 580 nm. I'm not making this up. There is no argument here. Mercedes produced several variations of this trans. It's rated for 428 ft lbs but it does hold up to more than that. 500 ft lbs is where things start to get iffy

    Question: how did you determine what stall to get? People are telling me 3000 - 3500 stall...but my tuner said 1800 - 2400 stall...

      I went off of the advice that a company who is no longer in business gave me. It was single-handedly the worst advice that I ever received in regards to my charger. I would not go below a 3800 stall on that car if I had to make a decision again. Depending on the powerband of your car I would go off of a tuners recommendation. I would talk to Jay Greene and ask him exactly what he thinks. 1800 is the stock converter so I feel like going to a 3500 or higher is going to be your best bet

    Good work. One thing I noticed. Instead of pounding with you hand, or with a hammer. Use a torque wrench, or breaker bar makes it easier.

    • @ParaLefty
      @ParaLefty  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I should use breaker bars more, unfortunately they crap ones I had at this time had broke. you should never use a tourqe whench to loosen bolts though as it will ruin their calibration
