I don't know the laws where you live, so check them out first. If processed correctly using the water bath canning method, the shelf life would be around 12-18 months when stored in a cool, dark place (like a pantry). After opening, if you keep it refrigerated, it will last about 1-3 months. You will need a pH meter to make sure it's under 4.6 (mine is under 4). Thank you for watching!!!
I'm not familiar with the laws in India. This is what I found when I searched: Regulatory Considerations: To sell jam in Indian markets, the individual will need to comply with the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) regulations. They should: Obtain an FSSAI license: This is mandatory for selling food products in India. Labeling: The jam jars should have proper labels with the following details: product name, ingredients, batch number, manufacturing date, expiry date, and nutritional information. Hygiene standards: Ensure that the kitchen setup follows hygiene and safety standards as per FSSAI guidelines. I hope you're able to get up and running and you're very successful!!!
It really is! But, there's just as much in most of the homemade recipes, too. That's why I had to come up with this recipe. And, this is SOOOO much better! Thank you for watching.
If you use the vacuum sealer and let it cool to room temperature, it will last longer in the refrigerator. If you water bath can it, it will last up to a year in your pantry. Just check that your pH is 4.6 or below. Mine is always lower than that. Thank you for watching!
Yummy! I haven't made peach jam yet, but I don't see why it wouldn't work. It may need a little more lemon juice to lower the acidity. It will take a lot longer to thicken and set. Pears have more pectin, so they should be fine! Let me know how it turns out! 😀
@@ThePurposefulChef I just tried it with some of the Asian pears that were ripe and a couple that weren't quite fully ripe and it didn't quite set. Not a very big batch. Even though it didn't turn out how I was hoping, I'm not disappointed. The acidity, plus I added a bit of cinnamon, have a really good flavor, and I could water bath can it if I wanted. When cooking, failures aren't always bad. If I can't figure those pears out, I have a big Bosc pear tree to try out and I'll just make Asian pear sauce with over half the moisture simmered out of it to concentrate the flavors. I probably have a few days to a week or so until I have enough ripe peaches to start experimenting though.
@elvaquero5554 You're absolutely right. Some of my favorite recipes were born from things not turning out quite right on another recipe. I can't wait to hear about the peaches. Your pears sound delicious, even if they didn't fully set. I've heard that, sometimes, jams can take up to two weeks to set, so you should take another look now.. ❤
@@ThePurposefulChef The peaches tasted like fruit roll-ups. I ended up with too many to do this with and canned around 35-40 quarts, and another 15-20 quarts of Asian pears with more still on the tree. I haven't even started on the bosc pears yet. Instead of sugar syrup, I've been using 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup per quart and adding cinnamon, nutmeg and clove. It brings a whole new meaning to peaches & cream. Since I didn't see directions for water-bath canning with those ingredients, I went with full pressure canning to be safe.
Thank you for your comment! Alcohol doesn’t actually impact whether a jar will crack. Jars typically break due to sudden temperature changes or not leaving enough headspace for expansion during freezing. If you leave at least 1 inch of headspace and use canning-safe jars, that should prevent cracking. Just make sure to fully cool your jars before placing them into the freezer. Hope this helps!
Oh, no! I wonder what happened? Everyone who has tried it has loved it so far. Did you make date paste? Or, did you buy date syrup? I personally do not like the taste of store-bought date syrup. I find it's too bitter. You could also use 1/4 cup maple syrup.
