      Dates are loaded with sugar, so??

    • @ThePurposefulChef

      @@ethimself5064 Totally get where you’re coming from! Dates do have natural sugars, but they’re packed with fiber, minerals (like potassium and magnesium), and antioxidants-all things that refined sugar is missing. Because of that fiber, the sugar in dates absorbs more slowly, so it doesn’t spike your blood sugar.
      It’s a natural way to satisfy a sweet tooth and get some real health benefits. Regular table sugar can't offer the same.
      Thanks for watching!!! 🙂

      @@ThePurposefulChef Their net carbs are quite high. Just saying. Their vitamin and mineral content is not very high, let's say per 50 grams. Low carb meal etc etc there are Liquid and powdered Stevia, a safe sugar alcohol called Erythritol(safe for one's digestigve system and refined Monk Fruit powder - all have zero calories. I shall find a Food nutritional chart to verify the contents of Figs and If I made a mistake I will retract my statement today.

      @@ThePurposefulChef Just checked 2 food nutritional databases - 1: Figs, raw - Per 67 grans: Total carbs - 12 gr./Fiber - 1.9 grams/ Protein - .5 gram/ Calcium - 2% of daily value/Iron 2%/ etc. Anything less than 5% of daily values is considered too little to be of any daily value. The other one I checked(USDA) was based on 50 grams and it verified the first data base. Note - plant based iron is poorly absorbed as in 4% at best. I stopped short on the nutrients cuz they were all less than 5% of daily values with both Data bases. Again just saying

    Wow!! From prepping and setting up equipment (it seems you’re using more than one camera) to recording, cleaning up, and editing, creating a video is a lot of work. I know-I’ve been there. Yet, I have to say, what an awesome job👍! Not only is your technique spot-on, but the entire presentation is highly professional👏. The amount of work that went into making this video didn’t take away from your presentation; it was just amazing. Because you took the time to make this video so professional, it really paid off-I mean that from the bottom of my heart❤. I can’t wait to see your channel grow. I never thought of using date paste. . I bi-weekly make strawberry or blueberry jam with a pound of fruit, tablespoon or two of chia seeds and about the same of maple syrup...to taste. It's done in less than 10 minutes. We put it on yogurt, ice cream, toast, pancakes, waffles...so I'm always making more. I will have to try making it with date paste next time.

    Ma'am what is the shelf life of this if I want to sell it in market

    • @ThePurposefulChef
      @ThePurposefulChef  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't know the laws where you live, so check them out first. If processed correctly using the water bath canning method, the shelf life would be around 12-18 months when stored in a cool, dark place (like a pantry). After opening, if you keep it refrigerated, it will last about 1-3 months.
      You will need a pH meter to make sure it's under 4.6 (mine is under 4).

      I'm not familiar with the laws in India. This is what I found when I searched:
      Regulatory Considerations:
      To sell jam in Indian markets, the individual will need to comply with the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) regulations. They should:
      Obtain an FSSAI license: This is mandatory for selling food products in India.
      Labeling: The jam jars should have proper labels with the following details: product name, ingredients, batch number, manufacturing date, expiry date, and nutritional information.
      Hygiene standards: Ensure that the kitchen setup follows hygiene and safety standards as per FSSAI guidelines.
      I hope you're able to get up and running and you're very successful!!!

    • @ThePurposefulChef
      @ThePurposefulChef  22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      If you use the vacuum sealer and let it cool to room temperature, it will last longer in the refrigerator.
      If you water bath can it, it will last up to a year in your pantry. Just check that your pH is 4.6 or below. Mine is always lower than that.

    • @ThePurposefulChef
      @ThePurposefulChef  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yummy! I haven't made peach jam yet, but I don't see why it wouldn't work. It may need a little more lemon juice to lower the acidity. It will take a lot longer to thicken and set.
      Pears have more pectin, so they should be fine!
      Let me know how it turns out! 😀

      @@ThePurposefulChef I just tried it with some of the Asian pears that were ripe and a couple that weren't quite fully ripe and it didn't quite set. Not a very big batch. Even though it didn't turn out how I was hoping, I'm not disappointed. The acidity, plus I added a bit of cinnamon, have a really good flavor, and I could water bath can it if I wanted. When cooking, failures aren't always bad. If I can't figure those pears out, I have a big Bosc pear tree to try out and I'll just make Asian pear sauce with over half the moisture simmered out of it to concentrate the flavors. I probably have a few days to a week or so until I have enough ripe peaches to start experimenting though.

    • @ThePurposefulChef
      @ThePurposefulChef  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

       @elvaquero5554 You're absolutely right. Some of my favorite recipes were born from things not turning out quite right on another recipe. I can't wait to hear about the peaches. Your pears sound delicious, even if they didn't fully set. I've heard that, sometimes, jams can take up to two weeks to set, so you should take another look now.. ❤

    • @elvaquero5554
      @elvaquero5554 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@ThePurposefulChef The peaches tasted like fruit roll-ups. I ended up with too many to do this with and canned around 35-40 quarts, and another 15-20 quarts of Asian pears with more still on the tree. I haven't even started on the bosc pears yet. Instead of sugar syrup, I've been using 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup per quart and adding cinnamon, nutmeg and clove. It brings a whole new meaning to peaches & cream. Since I didn't see directions for water-bath canning with those ingredients, I went with full pressure canning to be safe.

    • @ThePurposefulChef
      @ThePurposefulChef  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for your comment! Alcohol doesn’t actually impact whether a jar will crack. Jars typically break due to sudden temperature changes or not leaving enough headspace for expansion during freezing. If you leave at least 1 inch of headspace and use canning-safe jars, that should prevent cracking. Just make sure to fully cool your jars before placing them into the freezer. Hope this helps!

      You could also use 1/4 cup maple syrup.
