Surely one of the best anime(s) I have ever seen till date. Pure, simple with no deception. This might go onto inspire a whole generation of youth and beyond. Was kind of emotional once the last episode culminated. Riveting stuff.. Please spread the word about this anime..A must watch for anyone and everyone..!!!!!
This song is utterly beautiful. In our daily lives we have so much on our minds that we never take the time to actually look around us, and enjoy life. This is what this song means to me, i stop to think about my life, and good things in it. The melody just makes it all look simple. 5/5 And thank you for the english translation. Also, this anime was one of the few animes that felt complete and i was satisfied after watching it. A true masterpiece.
The best the best the best anime. The characters just make them feel so real. Its so down to earth story... with such sweetness, such sadness, the pain and the triumph.. Balsa almost felt real.. I started truly empathizing with her struggles her loneliness... its just great story telling. And this song is just amazing. In last 2 days I would have heard more than 100 times.. Marvelous.
A sing along version, perhaps: Caw, caw, come thee Caw, caw, come thee Woe pains be oe'r our backs, And vast be our paddies. As the month of blooming goes, long be the days. Hark now, oh till the paddies, Oh, swing the hoes; Hark now, oh sow the rice seed, forth the seedlings grow. Naaji come, come thee, Naaji come, come thee, Make thineself a blackened cloud and, Hasten oe'r the northern mountains on thine wings. Caw, caw, come thee, Caw, caw, come thee, E'en lo the fallen sprouts, Yea, grow them all, For when autumn comes, lo grains of rice, Hark now, irrigate the fields, Oh, water draw, Hark now, let the seedlings grow, and color the fields. Naaji, oh eat Naaji, oh eat Eat a frog that thee may, Hasten fattened and merry, on thine wings. Caw, caw, come thee Caw, caw, come thee As the gentle women fair, raise their rears towards the sky, Lower bend the sturdy men, so to prove their worth, Hark now, watch the paddies, no seedlings trample oe'r, Hark now, oe'r the dykes traverse, and weed the paddy floor. Naaji go thee away, Naaji go thee away, Go thee thine way with the egg and, Hasten far oe'r the claws below on thine wings. Caw, caw, come thee Caw, caw, come thee Shall tomorrow, there be sun, nay a blizzard or rainstorm? Look to Aogiri, lo clouded skies, Nay let the paddies dry, pray the waters flow, Hark now, add the manure, and hark, the rice, oh grow Naaji fly away, Naaji fly away, Hasten to the sea on thine wings, And the rains shall fall, and grow forth shall the rice.
I'm going to stir some strife, but, This HAS to be one of the best Anime's in the world! The creators are respective of the Characters, its pretty much clean, and the characters have to be tactful and smart to withstand their Challanges. Much of the famous animes are just straightforward and follow Cliche's; this anime is by far unique and creative, I would love to read the books!
im late 4 years for a comment :)) dont worry bro you didnt stir anything :) one of few anime that shows true love.. love between mother and a child and father and a child.. and the fact that that kind of love is possible even between strangers.. :)) such realistic anime.. and i am hurt by it the most.. since i always dreamed to have a daughter but life got me to never want to have kids of my own :S it will always stay just a dream for me.. but i guess im ok with it :) i dream of my daughter almost every day :) i would give her everything i have and i dont have.. if only this world was a better place.. it wouldnt be just a dream..
@@darkodarko9 i hope this doesn't offend you or anything, but can you not adopt a child? Or do you just mean a biological daughter that you give birth to?
These are I think called the diamond anime as diamonds are found between coal. Totally loved it!!! never knew this kind of traditional anime still existed in the world.
The saying is "diamond in the rough" - rough refers to the rock deposits in which diamonds are found. I suspect it specifically refers to placer deposits - diamonds that are exposed by weathering, carried somewhere by wind, water, or whatever other force, then buried again - this is historically where diamonds were found and is very close to being completely random. In the 20th century (or possibly a bit earlier) we figured out where those diamonds originally came from - geological structures called kimberlite pipes are generally the best example, though lamproite pipes can have substantial amounts of them as well. These structures are cylinders of material carried up from the mantle and were the source of lava for a volcano long, long ago. They're pretty much useless for any other kind of mining, but it's the only way to mine diamonds. (Why we don't just make them, I don't know - we have the technology and it's more economical, more environmentally friendly, and produces a steady supply rather than the rather random output of gem mining. But DeBeers tells everyone manufactured diamonds are inferior and everyone just accepts it and pays out their ass to get diamonds from a DeBeers owned mine.)
A great soundtrack for a great anime. Thank you for sharing! Everything in the anime is interconnected. This song was sung by the kids in the first few minutes of the first episode. The rare bird which Chagum and Sagum made fell to the ground and took care afterwards was probably a Nahji as well. I love how the author and anime managed to build up the story and the legend. When the Nahji came to pick up the egg I was like (*_*) wow cool.
When I watched the anime I didn't cry at all but loved it so much!!! But once I finished the anime I just started to cry bc I was so sad Balsa and Chagum were separated! I felt like they were separating a mother and her son. I wanted to see more of their relationship. But maybe the fact that it cut off so soon made me keep this anime close to my heart because I wanted to believe that Chagum and Balsa would see each other again. Now, every time I hear this song I feel tears welling up.
+arielafina Balsa was ready for everything, though. Until the last moment. it was Chagum's decision to stay a prince. I really fell in love with Balsa. Along with a lot of others, I guess, in and out of the anime xD.
I have watched this years ago, but re-watching it made it so much more inspiring and sweet. It was purely gen with some fickle of crush and love but honestly, I love this anime due to the bond both Chagum and Balsa have. I just finished re-watching Kemono no Souja Erin just before Seirei no Moribito and it was just as good. The author is amazing! I need to find more good anime like this one. ^^
This song sounds SO much like our harvest songs in Vietnam (before the war I mean). Had it not been for the words, I could almost mistake it for one. Wonderful upload, many thanks.
One of the underrated anime!!!!! Never knew about it, until last week... one of the best.. the characters are sooo well built that you literally live with them watching their journey.. amazing!
This was one of the best most captivating animes I have seen in a very long time it may have gone un-noticed but it is a great show. Both the music and art is great.
Even fallen sprouts, grow them all In the autumn, they will turn into grains of rice Irrigate the fields, draw water Grow the seedlings, let them color the fields Naaji, eat, eat Naaji, eat, eat Eat a frog and you can fly fat and happy this is the org. translation of 2nd stanza....
One of the best anime made so far! And till now I've liked op's, first time this music and even the song stirring me up like crazy. To be fair the ending is sad😩 Waitin for S2 Love balsa and chagum🎌
now i understand why the magic weaver said they sung that verse about "bottoms up" when she was young but it was not used much anymore! great movie,i watched it three times over the last few years.
Thank you so much! I think this is the best translation until now. I've gotten a few messages with a translation but they all looked so strange. And I guess the one who will eat the frog is the nahji :P I will put this translation in the video with those ballonn things :) Thanks again!
Amazing song for an amazing story. This was one of my very favorite stories...great story of a hero's journey! Thanks for all the work that was put into this.
@smileOFflower Wow thanks for clearing that up for me I had no idea the kanji for kimi could be used that way I was actually really confused about that for a long time.
yeah that show is/ was(i dont know if last week was the end but it seemed like it) now in the german tv last episodes features this song and i felt in love for it :)
It was only till the end I figured out what they were singing about it was the bird Naji and in the beginning you can here that word faintly and that made me wonder what this song was about, now I understand what an amazing series and what a way to end it I loved this show right down to the last bit!
It's insinuated that they stay together at the end of Moribito: Guardian of Heaven and Earth (The New Yogo Empire). Spoilers: Tanda goes into war in his brother's place. Balsa after doing her work with Chagum finds him, and has to amputate his arm. She stays with him to help him recover from PTSD, and the fact he doesn't have an arm. That's the last book, and it doesn't mention her leaving him. They are implied to live happily together. The next book the author makes is actually a small side story about Tanda and Balsa when they were kids. It's very cute, hehe.
@NinjaOfDemons I will post a new download link using mediafire this evening. Because I am not sure what time zone you are in: that's about 8--10 hours after I posted this comment. I will reply again when I uploaded it, for you convenience.
@Yugismpuzzle good to know that I'm not the only person who caught onto that, also if you've watched the series in japanese a lot of how the characters speak to each other either seems to be in an archaic dialect or fabricated somewhat to reinforce the idea that it's a different world. For example at one point Chagum addresses his mother as 母みみ i I have never heard this before in my life, the normal keigo form of mother being 母上 do you happen to know if "hahamimi" is valid keigo or is it fake

I have to agree 100%! This made me so happy watching it :) Lovely story and visually beautiful.

Watch the LA drama too, it actually has 3 season, in case you are curious about what happens next.
Sayonara chayum 😢
I know this was 9 years ago but I just finished the anime now 😂 so good. I hope Balsa and Tanda get married

Thanks :D

Yeah this is one of the better story animes out there. A masterpiece in its own right.
You're clearly on the wrong video to be "stirring" some strife...
Only Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu (Legend of Galactic Heroes) than better this one. Seirei no Moribito is a legend.

Sadly, there is no season 2 :(

I am SO glad they didn't try to translate this song for the anime. It would've messed it up so much. I love this song!
i do really love this song and anime, i love Tanda and i hope they'll get married in the manga
+reem saud I thought it was just based on the 12 books or whatever? There's no manga?
+Guidosaur i dont really know if there is manga or not>_
I just want the second book to get animated. And *SPOILERS* for Balsa to see Chagum again :'(
+Guidosaur its right, the anime was adapted from a series of books

If they ever get around to turning the rest of the series into an anime...that would be amazing..
hoi hoi doesnt mean come come, it actually means somewhat related to grow, as in to grow taller. a common misconception though.
@bababazuka
it's not a real folk song and actually the instruments and melody used in it are quite different from traditional Japanese music, that being since it's a fictional world based on east Asia, Japan in particular.
