    I am so ready for a vacation. I really enjoyed your detailed video of the 2 resorts. I like the size of this resort, everything is so close together. Did you book online through the resort website or did you call the resort directly?

    • @parodeejay
      @parodeejay  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thankee! Yes, this was super small and manageable... we had the place learned in one day, ha ha. We booked direct on their website, which is our typical approach. Easy peasy!! :P

    Why were so many areas closed? When did you film this?

    I’m assuming things will be mostly opened up by the time I go there in a month...? Hopefully

      We'll be there in June. 17 more days, can't wait!!!

      Fingers crossed! I know Quintana Roo keeps falling into "amber" on the stoplight system, and they were worried they would go to red, which is the wrong way. Here's hoping things start turning back around!!

      @@parodeejay how do you find out the status of a resort?

    • @parodeejay
      @parodeejay  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's more the status of the state of Quintana Roo, I'd say. You can find the current "color" of Quintana Roo here: datos.covid-19.conacyt.mx/#SemaFE and more about the stoplight system in general here: www.mexicancaribbean.travel/covid-19/traveling-safely-to-the-mexican-caribbean/#traffic-light-reactivation

    Hi I'm going there in June I'd like to know is Yucatan Beach resort also same resort and is it as well all inclusive. Also thanks for sharing love it

    • @parodeejay
      @parodeejay  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, Catalonia Yucatan Beach is the resort next door, same family, and is all-inclusive. It was closed when we were there. But it looked like both resorts can use all the facilities at the other resort, and you share the same dinner restaurants.

      @@Dondonden1234 how was your visit to that resort?

    • @Dondonden1234
      @Dondonden1234 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@danielphillip5787 The visit was great! Only 2 issues. 1, the rain. Out of the 8 days there we got 3 beautiful days. 2, the sea weed like stuff in the water. Can't remember what it's called but it disappointed a lot of visitors. It happens this time of year at all the beaches in that area. But, we had a great time! The food was great and if you are vegan, the chefs, at the buffet, are very accommodating. The staff was so nice too.
      Making reservations could be a task. You had to make reservations in the morning for the restaurants and it was first come first reserve. We also ended up upgrading. Much better rooms.

    Did you find it was better to use US currency over pesos?

    • @parodeejay
      @parodeejay  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The workers seem to appreciate either, but I feel like pesos might be more convenient for them, as they would have to take U.S. dollars somewhere to get them converted, or maybe the resort would do that for them. But from everything we've heard, U.S. dollars seems to be the "typical" way that folks show extra appreciation, so we followed that lead!! :P

      Of the five resorts that we tried back in 2020/2021, this was our least favorite. Still a good time, but scored lowest overall in our rankings!!
