I just got back from a resort in Nayarit. I went to a resort that catered more to Mexicans than American/Canadians. I got an amazing room, all inclusive with a beach view balcony for $120 a night. It was top floor but it was a walk up (which I didn’t mind). I brought face sunscreen and used it on my entire body and I barely burned. I brought pesos for when I went off the resort- the little shops across the street wanted to charge me $15 USD for a tote bag but as soon as she learned that I had pesos, I got the bag and 2 shirts for 200 pesos. Also, use Santander ATMs. They charge the smallest amount I’ve seen for currency exchange.

I am 52. Did my first all-inclusive stay in Cancun in Feb...absolutely awesome. Why did I wait so long? Now, I plan to do Mexico 2x a year. Cancun is so relaxing. Lots of Canadians at the resort I stayed at (Panama Jack). Had a good time drinking with Canadians! The food was excellent.

Another Mexico all inclusive tip is to tip a nice $5 bill on your first pool drink/food order. Do this and you’ll have a personal waiter for the rest of the trip, and never have to wait at the bar or look for a waiter. Instant VIP service.
@@pepq7192 yea in countries like that $5 goes a long way, when i went to the dominican republic i gave $10 go the first waiter and the dude straight offered to take the food to my room whenever i wanted lmao he even gave me his number whenever i needed something.
We have been to many all-inclusive resorts and one tip is to go for the upgrades. That will help make it a true all-inclusive. But, if you want the better wines at dinner it will cost you. If the upgrade includes a butler make sure to use his or her services but tip at the end of your vacation.

My wife is from Jalisco, and we went to puerto Vallarta 2x. And I burn easily. She’s like listen the sun just hits different down south than it does up in Illinois. Needless to say I got burned 2x and got sick lol. So yes apply the same sunscreen multiple times a day

At the end of the sales pitch simply tell them all of your large purchases need to go thru an attorney because you have a trust fund. One thing we noticed at the Cancun airport was that it is like he said. The first time you go there they just know and you get swamped by the sharks trying to sell and or give you stuff (primarily trying to get you into time shares ). But on subsequent visits they just know that you will not fall for their BS and they just look right past you for newbies. I don't know how, but they just know.
Businesses in Mexico are prohibited from obligatory tipping. So that SVC charge at the all inclusive does not have to be paid. If a client would prefer to tip staff directly, they can do so and tell the resort "PROFECO" (consumers rights department) and the resort will back down.
Years ago I came off a night shift, then flew to Toronto from northern Ontario, had a 6 hour layover, then flew to Cancun where my room wasn't ready for another 3 hours. After over 48 hours with no sleep I fell asleep under a palapa for a few hours. Unfortunately the shade moved but I didn't. Lobster day one with second degree sun burn. Good times.
FYI about free things at the resort- the resort you are staying at has free bicycle tour into Puerto Morelos that’s included in the all inc. fee. We took it and enjoyed it very much. (Pre COVID) love you guys keep it up!!
We actually considered taking that tour just to see PM from a tourist's eyes! We asked about the activities and they didn't mention it, so maybe they're not doing those right now because of COVID
I had my experience with a hard-sell timeshare salesman several years ago and you really have be on the ball. I played a dirty trick on him. The idea came from while I was praying to God, asking Him for some ideas how to win over such salesman. The thought came to mind, “my decision over the salesman’s decision." There are times in your life example if I can say it right when you got to make your own decision when it comes to certain situations in life. Don’t let your parents make the decisions for you, likewise the crowd, etc. I told the timeshare salesman that if I have any regrets about turning down the offer, that’s my tough luck, not his.
@@TangerineTravels Unless you have money (and time) to waste, timeshare presentations should be avoided at all costs. I just returned from Cozumel last week. As we were leaving the airport we were approached by a timeshare salesman. I told him I was on a vacation with my girlfriend (pointed to my wife) and I had no money.
Love Cancun however haven't been since '05 mainly because of the timeshare prople. They're relentless & they are everywhere. I told one guy no & the next guy about 8 ft away approached me and I was like "didn't you just hear me tell that guy no?" If we do go back gonna have t-shirts printed front & back NO TIMESHARE!

I'm from Canada and when I'm going south to Mexico or Dominican , I WANT TO BE ON SUN. If I need shade I can stay in Canada . Also when we buy all inclusive in travel agency in Canada there is NO hidden fees . Air flight , transfer from airport to hotel and everything in resort is included . All money we need is $20 to pay at airport in the destination we go , money for tips and money if we want to buy some souvenirs.
Great information here. Couple other tips, do not order a shot of tequila if you’re not an experienced drinker. The “shot” size will actually be the equivalent of 3+ shots. They do this to put you “out” for the day in your room. Then they save a bunch of money, because you’re not ordering meals, activities, or other drinks. Saw this a few times.
Y’all need to look for vacations in turkey. All resorts are really all inclusive. The country is beautiful, the summers are long and hot and the people are so friendly. Almost all Mediterranean resorts are 5***** and cheap as nails. 8 days ultra all inclusive between $700 and $1500. Flights from the US: go via London, Paris or München Germany.
Excellent presentation and warnings. I was impressed with your coverage on time shares. I attended a presentation once just to be nice to the person asking me to attend (so they would get a commission). At the presentation they really put the pressure on and make you feel really bad if you don't buy. They even get angry at you. Since then I've stayed at beach hotels before I ever consider a resort again.

I'm an Idaho mountain girl (😂🤣), so when I got to go to Mexico back in 2010, I couldn't catch a "buzz" no matter how much alcohol I drank! I figured maybe it was due to being at such a lower elevation than I was used to, but idk. 🤷 I stayed at the Secrets Capri resort in Playa del Carmen and absolutely loved it!! (Btw, even our local tour guide told us not to go anywhere after dark because it was dangerous.) Anyway, I sure like your videos! You're very informative and entertaining! ❤️

If you ever need sunscreen or other items. There is a Walmart in the city. You can get there on those buses for 12 pesos. There buses run plenty and often. I most I ever had to wait for a bus was 5 minutes
The first time I went to Cancun. I stayed at an Airbnb in downtown Cancun for $280 for 10 days. I did a tour almost everyday, so i used the place only to sleep. Next time i go, i will stay at resort and just chill no tours.
You guys gave some helpful advice. However it is always a good idea to do your own research on a place you are visiting as well as get the advice of a good travel agent. My husband and I have visited the Yucatan many times and never felt the need for an all-inclusive. It takes away from a true Mexico experience.
Do not miss out on all the activities that don't cost extra to do (after the pandemic when they return). Resorts often offer live entertainment in the evenings. Some resorts offer kayaks, snorkeling gear, boat tours, horse back riding, yoga classes and games for the kids. There is so much to do right at your resort that most people don't feel the urge to leave the resort to find something to do.

The one thing that I regret is not ordering more than one entree or appetizer so I could try more than one thing. I will not make that mistake again. Don’t be afraid to order something else if you don’t like it. Or if you’re not sure you’ll like it, order a second entree to make sure you have something that you like. I will also be ordering a rash shirt instead of wearing a cotton t shirt.
As a person who has lived in the area for the last 10 years, I have to say just steer clear of the all inclusive resorts. The food is usually very cheap quality (even if presented well and tastes good, its low quality cuts of meat, lots of pastas, etc) so the amount your paying, you could spend eating real mexican food with better experiences.
@@EpitomeofALady22 most of us have a world of information at our fingertips via our phone. This place is designed for solo people adventuring cheaply and fairly safe. People simply have to step out of their comfort zones. Also there is wonderful local guides that can blown your mind with sights that no resort can provide.
Coming from Minnesota it's much cheaper to book a package from an airline like Delta. The package includes baggage and transportation to the hotel. I've been to many all inclusive resorts. Also, in the middle of winter, take a direct flight.

Last advice: Parents should keep their kids away from the adult pool. Ive seen it way to many times parents forgetting theirs kids in the adult pool where they splash everybody, spill drinks at the swim up bar and throw balls on other custumers. Perfect receipe for a disaster and ultimately a fight because most of those parents will not tolerate to reveive critics over their childs behavior. So you want to go in an all inclusive resort with the complete family? Remember there is a pool for kids and its made for them...

You can't bring either kind of sunscreen ( cream or aerosolized ) on airplanes. You're better off finding a drugstore in town near the hotel to buy the sunscreen.

If you have friends that want to visit you at the resort, the resort will likely charge a huge fee for a day pass. However, in Mexico all beaches (up to 20 metres from high tide) are public. It is illegal for businesses to block public access to the beach, or place objects to prevent the public from being on the public part of the beach. Businesses can face huge penalties for breaking this rule. However, they still often illegally try to prevent use of the beach, so there may be a confrontation. In the end though, Mexico´s president is on the side of the public, to the point of ordering an offending structure demolished. PS: Thanks for your wonderful vids ! I feel like you are friends !
Yes I experienced a sun burn on my face literally didn’t notice till 2 days later I got dark patches on my face....which I had only gotten when I went to Cancun the 1st time but I had forgotten AND I had put on sun block too....make sure to double put on sun block and take a break from the sun.

4:58 reason why Cabo San Lucas is better vacation area then Cancun as far as mexico goes. Cano Sab Lucas is in a desert 🏜 region so it gets just as hot as Cancun but without the intense humidity to go along with it.

No need to be afraid of taking a taxi. They are typically less expensive than charted transportation and faster. The chartered transport does not mean the car is there waiting for you. You will be in line with everyone else that paid for that service. Just make sure you are not pulled into a time share transport. Go to the desk with the big TAXI sign where you will tell them where you are going and pay for it. They will give you a receipt. Then go wait in the taxi line where you will show that receipt to the attendant. The only thing you should give the driver is a tip.

Re: Beach Towels. Before you leave home, go out and buy the cheapest beach towels you can find and lay them over your clothes just before you close them. This way you can avoid losing your resort towels and if you lose it no big deal. There is also no way to stop someone else grabbing your towels off a sun bed because they've lost their own, happens all the time. Also, the dreaded sun lounger game. This happens EVERY WHERE!!! People come out at 600am and "save" loungers by putting their towels, hates, etc on them. This is not suppose to be allowed but 99% of the resorts don't enforce this. Sooooooo frustrating! Anyone been to a resort that absolutely does not allow this?
We've stayed at the Excellence Riviera Cancun and this is not allowed... they have someone walking around keeping an eye out/timing, if you are not back within an hour they will take your belongings, and leave a note as to where to pick them up. We witnessed this first hand, and the couple wasn't happy...this couple was gone for over 2 hours!! These rules are clearly spelled out...
At all inclusive I only put make up on before dinner. There’s not many times if the year that I get to get all dressed up. But when I’m on vacay it’s almost every night lol!
Someone once stole my towel at an all inclusive resort in Cancun, . I almost got charged, I said why should I pay for it if it will end up being dropped off at the end of the day by the person that took it. No no senior you must pay the $30 for the towel. My response was "so you are telling me to take someones' towel...." he replied OK senior that won't be necessary here's a new towel no charge.

I just got back from a resort in Nayarit. I went to a resort that catered more to Mexicans than American/Canadians. I got an amazing room, all inclusive with a beach view balcony for $120 a night. It was top floor but it was a walk up (which I didn’t mind). I brought face sunscreen and used it on my entire body and I barely burned. I brought pesos for when I went off the resort- the little shops across the street wanted to charge me $15 USD for a tote bag but as soon as she learned that I had pesos, I got the bag and 2 shirts for 200 pesos. Also, use Santander ATMs. They charge the smallest amount I’ve seen for currency exchange.

I am 52. Did my first all-inclusive stay in Cancun in Feb...absolutely awesome. Why did I wait so long? Now, I plan to do Mexico 2x a year. Cancun is so relaxing. Lots of Canadians at the resort I stayed at (Panama Jack). Had a good time drinking with Canadians! The food was excellent.
I was just looking at booking that resort for the fall.

I’ve been reading terrible reviews on almost every 4star all inclusive hotel i was looking into. So I’ll look into Panama Jack.
Another Mexico all inclusive tip is to tip a nice $5 bill on your first pool drink/food order. Do this and you’ll have a personal waiter for the rest of the trip, and never have to wait at the bar or look for a waiter. Instant VIP service.
It’s was $5 20 years ago. I’d give more than that today,lol.

@@pepq7192 yea in countries like that $5 goes a long way, when i went to the dominican republic i gave $10 go the first waiter and the dude straight offered to take the food to my room whenever i wanted lmao he even gave me his number whenever i needed something.
We have been to many all-inclusive resorts and one tip is to go for the upgrades. That will help make it a true all-inclusive. But, if you want the better wines at dinner it will cost you. If the upgrade includes a butler make sure to use his or her services but tip at the end of your vacation.

My wife is from Jalisco, and we went to puerto Vallarta 2x. And I burn easily. She’s like listen the sun just hits different down south than it does up in Illinois. Needless to say I got burned 2x and got sick lol. So yes apply the same sunscreen multiple times a day
Excellent points on timeshares..75% cheaper on the resell market. I listen to the sales pitch cause you usually will get free tickets or free dinners or money off your hotel bill. At the end of the sales pitch simply tell them all of your large purchases need to go thru an attorney because you have a trust fund. Once they hear that, they know that no trust attorney on earth is going to approve or recommend buying a time share as a good investment.... Sales pitch over...gummies my gift

One thing we noticed at the Cancun airport was that it is like he said. The first time you go there they just know and you get swamped by the sharks trying to sell and or give you stuff (primarily trying to get you into time shares ). But on subsequent visits they just know that you will not fall for their BS and they just look right past you for newbies. I don't know how, but they just know.
You have to put on your racing horse blinders and don't look left or right.
Businesses in Mexico are prohibited from obligatory tipping. So that SVC charge at the all inclusive does not have to be paid. If a client would prefer to tip staff directly, they can do so and tell the resort "PROFECO" (consumers rights department) and the resort will back down.
Years ago I came off a night shift, then flew to Toronto from northern Ontario, had a 6 hour layover, then flew to Cancun where my room wasn't ready for another 3 hours. After over 48 hours with no sleep I fell asleep under a palapa for a few hours. Unfortunately the shade moved but I didn't. Lobster day one with second degree sun burn. Good times.

FYI about free things at the resort- the resort you are staying at has free bicycle tour into Puerto Morelos that’s included in the all inc. fee. We took it and enjoyed it very much. (Pre COVID) love you guys keep it up!!
We actually considered taking that tour just to see PM from a tourist's eyes! We asked about the activities and they didn't mention it, so maybe they're not doing those right now because of COVID
oh timeshare sells are so hard , even with saying no, they just hound you, its a 5 hour day easy, only did one and will never do it again

I had my experience with a hard-sell timeshare salesman several years ago and you really have be on the ball. I played a dirty trick on him. The idea came from while I was praying to God, asking Him for some ideas how to win over such salesman. The thought came to mind, “my decision over the salesman’s decision." There are times in your life example if I can say it right when you got to make your own decision when it comes to certain situations in life. Don’t let your parents make the decisions for you, likewise the crowd, etc. I told the timeshare salesman that if I have any regrets about turning down the offer, that’s my tough luck, not his.
@@TangerineTravels Unless you have money (and time) to waste, timeshare presentations should be avoided at all costs. I just returned from Cozumel last week. As we were leaving the airport we were approached by a timeshare salesman. I told him I was on a vacation with my girlfriend (pointed to my wife) and I had no money.
Love Cancun however haven't been since '05 mainly because of the timeshare prople. They're relentless & they are everywhere. I told one guy no & the next guy about 8 ft away approached me and I was like "didn't you just hear me tell that guy no?" If we do go back gonna have t-shirts printed front & back NO TIMESHARE!

I'm from Canada and when I'm going south to Mexico or Dominican , I WANT TO BE ON SUN. If I need shade I can stay in Canada . Also when we buy all inclusive in travel agency in Canada there is NO hidden fees . Air flight , transfer from airport to hotel and everything in resort is included . All money we need is $20 to pay at airport in the destination we go , money for tips and money if we want to buy some souvenirs.
Great information here. Couple other tips, do not order a shot of tequila if you’re not an experienced drinker. The “shot” size will actually be the equivalent of 3+ shots. They do this to put you “out” for the day in your room. Then they save a bunch of money, because you’re not ordering meals, activities, or other drinks. Saw this a few times.
Y’all need to look for vacations in turkey. All resorts are really all inclusive. The country is beautiful, the summers are long and hot and the people are so friendly. Almost all Mediterranean resorts are 5***** and cheap as nails. 8 days ultra all inclusive between $700 and $1500. Flights from the US: go via London, Paris or München Germany.

Excellent presentation and warnings. I was impressed with your coverage on time shares. I attended a presentation once just to be nice to the person asking me to attend (so they would get a commission). At the presentation they really put the pressure on and make you feel really bad if you don't buy. They even get angry at you. Since then I've stayed at beach hotels before I ever consider a resort again.

I'm an Idaho mountain girl (😂🤣), so when I got to go to Mexico back in 2010, I couldn't catch a "buzz" no matter how much alcohol I drank! I figured maybe it was due to being at such a lower elevation than I was used to, but idk. 🤷 I stayed at the Secrets Capri resort in Playa del Carmen and absolutely loved it!! (Btw, even our local tour guide told us not to go anywhere after dark because it was dangerous.) Anyway, I sure like your videos! You're very informative and entertaining! ❤️

If you ever need sunscreen or other items. There is a Walmart in the city. You can get there on those buses for
12 pesos. There buses run plenty and often. I most I ever had to wait for a bus was 5 minutes

The first time I went to Cancun. I stayed at an Airbnb in downtown Cancun for $280 for 10 days. I did a tour almost everyday, so i used the place only to sleep. Next time i go, i will stay at resort and just chill no tours.

You guys gave some helpful advice. However it is always a good idea to do your own research on a place you are visiting as well as get the advice of a good travel agent. My husband and I have visited the Yucatan many times and never felt the need for an all-inclusive. It takes away from a true Mexico experience.
Do not miss out on all the activities that don't cost extra to do (after the pandemic when they return). Resorts often offer live entertainment in the evenings. Some resorts offer kayaks, snorkeling gear, boat tours, horse back riding, yoga classes and games for the kids. There is so much to do right at your resort that most people don't feel the urge to leave the resort to find something to do.

The one thing that I regret is not ordering more than one entree or appetizer so I could try more than one thing. I will not make that mistake again. Don’t be afraid to order something else if you don’t like it. Or if you’re not sure you’ll like it, order a second entree to make sure you have something that you like. I will also be ordering a rash shirt instead of wearing a cotton t shirt.
The rash guard tip is awesome. I saw them worn by all the merchants on the beach when we in Santa Marta, Colombia two years ago.
As a person who has lived in the area for the last 10 years, I have to say just steer clear of the all inclusive resorts. The food is usually very cheap quality (even if presented well and tastes good, its low quality cuts of meat, lots of pastas, etc) so the amount your paying, you could spend eating real mexican food with better experiences.

@@EpitomeofALady22 most of us have a world of information at our fingertips via our phone. This place is designed for solo people adventuring cheaply and fairly safe. People simply have to step out of their comfort zones. Also there is wonderful local guides that can blown your mind with sights that no resort can provide.
Coming from Minnesota it's much cheaper to book a package from an airline like Delta. The package includes baggage and transportation to the hotel. I've been to many all inclusive resorts. Also, in the middle of winter, take a direct flight.

Last advice: Parents should keep their kids away from the adult pool. Ive seen it way to many times parents forgetting theirs kids in the adult pool where they splash everybody, spill drinks at the swim up bar and throw balls on other custumers. Perfect receipe for a disaster and ultimately a fight because most of those parents will not tolerate to reveive critics over their childs behavior. So you want to go in an all inclusive resort with the complete family? Remember there is a pool for kids and its made for them...

You can't bring either kind of sunscreen ( cream or aerosolized ) on airplanes. You're better off finding a drugstore in town near the hotel to buy the sunscreen.

Never buy food or anything else at the airport.
If you have friends that want to visit you at the resort, the resort will likely charge a huge fee for a day pass. However, in Mexico all beaches (up to 20 metres from high tide) are public. It is illegal for businesses to block public access to the beach, or place objects to prevent the public from being on the public part of the beach. Businesses can face huge penalties for breaking this rule. However, they still often illegally try to prevent use of the beach, so there may be a confrontation. In the end though, Mexico´s president is on the side of the public, to the point of ordering an offending structure demolished. PS: Thanks for your wonderful vids ! I feel like you are friends !

Yes I experienced a sun burn on my face literally didn’t notice till 2 days later I got dark patches on my face....which I had only gotten when I went to Cancun the 1st time but I had forgotten AND I had put on sun block too....make sure to double put on sun block and take a break from the sun.

4:58 reason why Cabo San Lucas is better vacation area then Cancun as far as mexico goes. Cano Sab Lucas is in a desert 🏜 region so it gets just as hot as Cancun but without the intense humidity to go along with it.

No need to be afraid of taking a taxi. They are typically less expensive than charted transportation and faster. The chartered transport does not mean the car is there waiting for you. You will be in line with everyone else that paid for that service. Just make sure you are not pulled into a time share transport. Go to the desk with the big TAXI sign where you will tell them where you are going and pay for it. They will give you a receipt. Then go wait in the taxi line where you will show that receipt to the attendant. The only thing you should give the driver is a tip.

Re: Beach Towels. Before you leave home, go out and buy the cheapest beach towels you can find and lay them over your clothes just before you close them. This way you can avoid losing your resort towels and if you lose it no big deal. There is also no way to stop someone else grabbing your towels off a sun bed because they've lost their own, happens all the time. Also, the dreaded sun lounger game. This happens EVERY WHERE!!! People come out at 600am and "save" loungers by putting their towels, hates, etc on them. This is not suppose to be allowed but 99% of the resorts don't enforce this. Sooooooo frustrating! Anyone been to a resort that absolutely does not allow this?
We've stayed at the Excellence Riviera Cancun and this is not allowed... they have someone walking around keeping an eye out/timing, if you are not back within an hour they will take your belongings, and leave a note as to where to pick them up. We witnessed this first hand, and the couple wasn't happy...this couple was gone for over 2 hours!! These rules are clearly spelled out...

Someone once stole my towel at an all inclusive resort in Cancun, . I almost got charged, I said why should I pay for it if it will end up being dropped off at the end of the day by the person that took it. No no senior you must pay the $30 for the towel. My response was "so you are telling me to take someones' towel...." he replied OK senior that won't be necessary here's a new towel no charge.
