  • Here is the Brunswick Bionic Positioner adjustable bowling glove overview! I'll try all the adjustments with a few different bowling balls from different angles to see what it can do for my ball roll and rev rate.
    If you have any questions or comments, drop them in the comments and I'll try to help

    These are really good for people with carpal tunnel, arthritis, ect that struggle to throw a certain ball weight due to them.
    However, for those without those problems, placing the ball weight properly in your hand during the pushaway (or hinge) is paramount.
    Norm Duke explained this in his instructional videos:
    "If I place the ball in such a way that the center of gravity gets on top of my fingers, rather than over the top of my palm, then the wrist will break backwards at the top of my swing due to the force of motion."

    Thanks for the review. This is a great product. I recently had surgery on my hand. While recovering I started to use this product. It helped while everything is still healing. But like anything it is an individual thing where to set the setting too. It has improved my rev rate and release. I will be interested as I transition from it if possible. Again thanks for the review and advice on its use and effect of various settings.

    i've used this glove and many others Nick, and head slapped time. I just realize yesterday after years of using all types of gloves and supports that I was doing exactly what you said not to do, I was pulling my wrist up from a flat or neutral glove position, and I wasn't relaxing my hand, and allowing my hand to be truly supported by the glove. Any suggestion as to how to do that, or is it simply a matter of just telling myself to relax my hand? Because I now suspect that the reason why I struggled even using such a glove was because I was fighting it instead of relaxing and letting it do the work for me thank you.

    If, If I had to use one, between the blue one Nick is showing or the other one Nick showed the red one with the finger? I would probably use the red one as it has a place for your finger in the proper position. Great job Nick and that you always show ppl that theirs hand devices and your verbal advice is great. Well done

    I used wrist supports for a long while and then stopped using them and never looked back. I feel like they limited my range of motion. My revs went up immediately after ditching the wrist braces.

    Banned by the PBA ... now if they could ban 2 handed. They say the glove gives an unfair advantage, the same could be said about 2 handed. I say bowl how you feel comfortable. I use a glove because of old injuries to my shoulder,elbow. I'm much more consistent with it.

    Hey Nick. Do you think this devices can be used as a complement to training? I dont have any conditions that hinder me from throwing my 15lb. In my case, I'm just failing to mentally adjust to when to properly uncup. Could something like this be good to use in practice and get maybe a few repetitions of seeing how you come out of the ball with this, then switching out of it and trying to replicate?

    • @brunsnick
      @brunsnick  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes absolutely. This will help train your wrist but it will come down to getting your reps in.

      @notonyourlife7939 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I don't hate these things... in fact, I use one myself. However, in the absence of some significant injury, I seriously doubt you'll ever see a two- hander use any sort of brace. It's not gonna help them, and would likely be a hindrance in most cases. As a general rule they have no problems attaining high rev rates, and their non- dominant hand is supporting much of the ball's weight until a fraction of a second before the release anyway, so the whole "weak wrist" thing isn't an issue.

    Do you think switching to a brace or glove like this one or Robby's would require a complete refit of your layout/span or is it adaptable? I've got a small tendon injury in my wrist and elbow....was thinking of using one of these while it heals

      Not sure why they outlawed it.

    • @XenoGuru
      @XenoGuru 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @brunsnick According to them, any brace with "restrictive" materials such as plastic or steel that holds the wrist in a neutral position, and immobilizes the joint.
      They said it is quote "to prevent giving a player an advantage."
      It's just the regular PBA/PWBA that it applies to though. League bowlers are still ok

    • @brunsnick

      @@XenoGuru what I mean is nobody on tour uses them. So why the rule?

    • @XenoGuru
      @XenoGuru 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @brunsnick It's possible on a couple of fronts:
      On the PWBA, quite a few of them do. It gives them an advantage of throwing a heavier ball than ones that don't.
      On the PBA, since seniors on the PBA50 can still bowl on the regular tour, it would allow even the ones that don't need it to use them for an advantage.
      I moreover think it's a "crossover" from seniors to the regular tour part that's a problem.

    I‘m really not a fan of these things. If you cannot bowl without them, it‘s fine, but otherwise it just prevents you from building the necessary muscle and you‘ll have a hard time getting rid of it later.

  • @keithpanco

    I believe bowling should not allow mechanical aids for proper release. Golf does not allow you to wear anything that forces the arms or wrist into the "proper" positions. These should be allowed only for training, and never for sanctioned play.

      @@EKBBQ2358 she hated it at first. Then she started seeing the results. It helped her improve a lot. It puts her hand in the correct position every time. Now she can get a consistent hook and release. She can bend her wrist backwards. Keep hand behind or below the ball now. Not on top.
