@siphosethumbaba7559 nah. Friedman isn't even needed, lol. Sasaki just walks in, and both Ohtani and Yamamoto just gesture to the World Series trophy. Sasaki walks back out and signs the contract, lol.
I think its Dodgers or Padres... Three less travel hours to Japan from California, so 6 hours round trip less of travel time. Only teams with connections to Roki.... Darvish/Matusi and Yamamoto and Ohtani. The rest is smoke screen. AJ Preller was spotted last night in Tokyo... Think its between these two.
The Dodgers have proven that players from Japan can be successful there. There is a huge Japanese market and fan base in the Los Angeles area. Roki grew up being a Dodgers fan. The Dodgers manager is Japanese (Roberts was born in Japan). Los Angeles just won a World Series and have the best odds of returning to the fall classic. Finally, as you mentioned, Roki will have both Ohtani and Yamamoto urging him to come to the Dodgers.
I do think Sasaki is gonna end up on the Dodgers because anyone playing outside of their home country would want to play somewhere that feels the most like home. First, at some point, Sasaki is gonna get tired of talking to Otani and Yamamoto and his interpreter. With that said, he's gonna want to land in a city (like Los Angeles) that has a decent-sized Japanese community. Second, Sasaki ain't gonna find good Sushi in fly-over states with MLB teams....like the Royals, Twins, Brewers, Guards and Reds etc.
But the cubs have Suzuki and imanaga that will urge him to Chicago and sasaki may ask darvish of how Chicago was and darvish would say that he loves Chicago and it’s a could place to be so I’m just saying sasaki probably has those three urging him to come to the cubs
Another big reason for comming to L.A. is the amount of endorsement deals that will happen for him.$$$$$$. More then offsets the minimum league salary he'll be playing for. Any 7 million or whatever the number is international signing money will look like peanuts compared to the endorsements that he'll sign.
Exactly, its a no brainer when Ohtani and Yamaoto endorse and recruit you, along with the Dodgers who have been actively pursuing you. They just won a world series, a clubhouse culture full of veteran leaders who prioritize winning above anything else and their development system is consdidered the gold standard. Last, but not least he will have access to every Japanese model in L.A. This is the best situation for him.
Hate to burst everyones heart but Roki wants rings. He always loved the dodgers and he knows the dodgers is the perfect team for it. Ohtani and yamamoto is there too. Enough said.
You can't underestimate the influence of Ohtani. When Yamamoto was approached by Mets, he said he really liked them but he also liked the Dodgers just as much, but he thought the Dodgers was a bit better fit for him plus, Ohtani pushed Yamamoto to come to the Dodgers. And he did. For Sasaki, he's been a Dodgers fan, and he played with both Ohtani and Yamamoto for WBS. They are his idol players, and both are playing for the Dodgers. Needless to say, Sasaki already knows where he wants to go. But as some of you already know that Sasaki's body isn't durable. He hasn't gone through the rotation throughout the year without a problem, yet. That would be a big issue, so any ball club that acquires him has to be patient and take time to help him to grow in AAA to become a good MLB player. And this would be his big challenge.
Let's look at this logically: Roki basically forced the Chiba Marines' hand by turning down theit contract offer. He re-aserted his desire to play in MLB. This happened about a week after the Dodgers won the World Series which was watched by as many people in Japan as here in America. He has wanted to be a Dodger since he started playing Baseball. I believe he did what he did because he wants to be a Dodger. I have seen explanations that say this is the player's choice, and if it is, he will be a Dodger.
Roki Sasaki is going to go to LA Dodgers for 2 reasons that is Shohei Ohtani and Yamamoto ,his teammates WBC they won a championship last year together and he looks up to these guys and he feels comfortable with his fellow countryman with him
Dodgers. Darvish is almost 40 years old. Ohtani and Yamamoto are the golden boys of Japan along with Sasaki and are all younger. They just won the WS, best organization for development. Darvish is still good and is a mentor to him but he is on his way out. He would be under 6 years of control and by then Darvish is out of the league while Ohtani, and Yamamoto are hoisting trophies. The choice is clear. DODGERS BABY
It’s time for everyone to stop watching baseball folks. Until the league does something about this LA issue of all the star players going to the Dodgers, I say to people, boycott the league. It’s no fun even bothering to watch baseball anymore.
This is real interesting because now the Japanese players changed their own way of thinking they use to be against teaming up in the same teams to allow each players to get fair international exposure. Now that's not the case, personally I think the dodgers,Cubs, and Padres are the 3 teams that have the best shot at getting him especially if he doesn't post until Jan, 15th because every team will have international money available.
The Dodgers have been a presence in Japan since the 1960’s. Tommy Lasorda was honored by the Emperor of Japan for his work with the Japanese league. The Dodgers have been working on their relationship for decades while your teams have been playing Patty Cake.
Yea as a dodgers fan everything points to him choosing the dodgers and I mean everything literally the perfect destination for Roki but just like when the dodgers went up 3-0 on the yanks I’m still nervous lol
This is a 6 years commitment, and that's why he wants to start it asap while Ohtani and Yamamoto are still in their prime. It is highly unlikely that he joins another team first, if anything probably the other way around. Get his dream of playing for the Dodgers and his Japanese idol and friends winning a few WS champs and then get that big payday somewhere else.
Toronto is above Houston and Atlanta for this discussion. Also the Cubs and Giants are both much more likely to land a Japanese player than Texas. Geography matters. So do the demographics of the local fan base. I also can’t see any Japanese player would go to the Padres after the antics in the last playoff series. Can you imagine how that team looked to a nation cheering for The Dodgers? The way they acted on the field would not go over well in Japan. I’d put SD and Hou at D tier. Braves are C tier. You are putting all your focus on the quality of the franchise to build a winning team.
Being that he is being posted so early that means money isn't a factor. Being that money isn't the factor it may be the team matters. Maybe he already knows where he wants to go. He wants to go to the Dodgers and play with his idol Shohei Ohtani.
Really? He has to fight for the rotation spot with them, and in addition, only one of them can get the Cy Young Award. If I were Sasaki, I would try to avoid that.
@@wilburwood8261these points make no sense lmfaoooo fight for a rotation spot? I think recruitment process will be crucial final steps and the Dodgers are not a lock. But,one thing that people don’t talk about enough is the bonus pool money. Particularly, international prospects tend to agree to contract well in advance of the window, sometime up to 2-3 years. The Dodgers always max out their pool money, yet for some reason they decide to save it for 2024. This takes some planning few years ahead. And somehow it coincides with Sasaki making noise of wanting to get posted last year. What are the chances of that randomly happening? So, more than likely, the Dodgers knew somehow that he would be asking out in 2023-24. And that can only come from Sasaki himself
There are a couple of important factors that are in play in terms of decision-making for Sasaki: 1. familiarity & culture beyond the clubhouse, LA has the largest Japanese/Asian communities in the U.S. and 2. location and proximity to Japan, obviously the west coast, also the best coast. But, I think the Yankees may have a shot, the history and the team means something. Those teams like the Rays (who don't even know they play next year) or the Braves where Sasaki would be 1 of 3 Japanese people in Georgia can forget about it.
The Dodgers should not be the only S team. For the most part I agree with your assessment. However I’m not convinced Sasaki wants to play in the shadow of Ohtani and Yamamoto. I’ve read Sasaki would prefer to play in a smaller market. Therefore Kansas City and Milwaukee should be ranked higher. I think San Diego and San Francisco are serious contenders because they want to dethrone the Dodgers. Never can rule out the Mets $$$. Remember they made it to the National League finals.
The big question is if Roki will be posted for the 2024 pool or for the 2025 pool. If it is the 2024 pool, the Padres have no money left for a bonus. I believe they are actually in the negative. They would only have a chance if Roki is posted in the 2025 pool. I think Roki is posted in the 2024 pool and goes to the Dodgers in December.
I think you should’ve put the Cubs in the A tier. Not only do they have Suzuki and Imanaga, Imanaga fell in love with Chicago as a city and the fan base. Plus, Imanaga was considered a “middle of the rotation at best” player and became a Cy Young caliber pitcher with the Cubs. The Cubs could get their RHP cheaper than Burnes like they want and use their prospect for a Catcher and an elite bat. Sounds like a Cubs move to me.
for all the reasons you mentioned and more.... it's the LA Dodgers. Sasaki will be on TV in Japan everyday and endorsements and sponsorships can be off the charts
I am not sure about that. Yamamoto is not getting that much. Not only that, no one other than Ohtani is getting noticeable endorsements from Japanese companies. Ohtani is one of a kind, you cannot compare other players to him in this regard as well. You have to also consider that Ohtani is loved by everyone in Japan so everyone want him to be their ambassador, but Sasaki has been a villain for some time, so it would be difficult for Japanese companies to sell their products with him.
Roki Sasaki is a seriously awesome pitcher, like a 23-year-old DeGrom who throws a split. Many people in Japan say that going to the Dodgers is boring, but if he goes to the Padres, I think Preller will use him as a trade piece, so I think the Dodgers are fine.
Bro it’s like Dodgers are S and 29 F …. He has made up his mind …. They are going to get another ace through free agency and that means they are putting out a 6 man rotation.
You can pretty much cross out the Yankees too. Every Japanese fan saw what how the Yankees fans base treated Ohtani. Calling him names and laughing at him on national T.V. Don't forget 14 million Japanese was watching on national tv
I am not sure about that. Yamamoto is not getting that much. Not only that, no one other than Ohtani is getting noticeable endorsements from Japanese companies. @ Yamamoto has a ton of endorsements with American and Japanese companies. The Dodgers will ensure their players get exposure and endorsements. It’s a part of the pitch and they do it better than any franchise. The country of Japan is a vast market for the Dodgers and no other team can compete with it.
Wondering what number he is gonna wear, could be 14, the one that he wore in WBC, or 11, Ohtani's japanese number. He can buy Miguel Rojas a porsche to ask him to give up that number.
I won't be surprised he's thinking about the smaller market Mariners have a better chance than this guy thinks They have a good pitching staff and a history of Japanese players and the stadium is pitcher-friendly On the other hand, the Braves will be F tier, they never signed a player from Japan and have no connection with the NPB teams, this could go to the Phillies as well
I'm commenting before the video even starts but you literally say the same 7 teams in every video so ima guess Yankees,Os,Dodgers,Astros,Giants,Mets,Braves if I were to guess who youl have at the top some honorable mentions Padres,Phillies and Rangers are always your next in line for everything so there I named 10 teams I wont be surprised if all 10 of those teams are your top teams and if im right or even close... what point is there making any of these videos if its all just the same teams lol
Just watched the video I was pretty close...Dunno why You dont have Boston,Seattle,Toronto up higher on the list but I guess we can check back in when he gets shipped off to a team.
New York Mets 2025 6 Man Starting Rotation: 1) Garrett Crochet 2) Corbin Burnes 3) Blake Snell 4) Max Fried 5) Kodi Senga 6) David Peterson LET'S GO METS!
How are you gonna put the angels at F that makes no sense. And I say that as a Dodgers fan. They must be like the third most likely team. There is a chance he doesn’t want to play on a playoff team and just wants to be part of a small market in Southern California. So he can focus on his development for now and then worry about winning later, like Ohtani. It’s only a 5% chance but that’s a better chance than anyone else other than the Padres and Dodgers have
That's not true. The reason he wants to be posted is probably he also want to win WS. And the only reason Shohei signed with the Angels is because they were the only team that offered him the ability to play 2-way. If any other big market team would've done the same he might have never went to the Angels.
Ohtani didn't choose the Angels to develop with a small market team and not want to win. Dodgers couldn't use a DH per NL rules back then and Angels were the only other team to let Shohei be Shohei. They also have one of the richest owners and had Trout. Shohei definitely wanted to win there and could have but Arte refused to spend money on starting pitching.
Although the Dodgers seem like the logical choice, I could use the same points Jim made to say he wants to be a Yankee. What would you prefer to be in the shadows of Yamamoto and Ohtani? or have your own Japanese spotlight in NY and help the Yankees beat your childhood hero? Let's not forget that Tanaka, Godzilla and Ichiro played for the Yankees. You can bet the Yankees are asking Godzilla for help to lure Sasaki to NY.
What level of delusional is this? Why would Roki go to that dumpster fire of a team known as the stankees who got embarrassed in a gentleman sweep. Instead of the WS winners with two of his role models who will most likely be a dynasty
Ichiro did not voluntarily play for the Yankees. He was traded. Irabu and Igawa signed with them and was mistreated badly by the Yankees. So a lot of people in Japan still remember it and still hate the Yankees. Tanaka and Matsui were finished products, Sasaki is not, he needs confort and further development, Yankees is not an ideal environment for that.
He’s only being posted because he wants to win Ohtani right now. Makes zero sense to come on a minor league deal to play for any other team when he could just wait and make Yamamoto money
I can't stand the Dodgers. I know, being a Yankee fan I really have not much to say after the Yankees did the same thing the Dodgers are trying to do now back in the 90's but I am sick of hearing about the Dodgers and all the people they could get and might get... Going to feel bad for the NL if they somehow get Soto and Sasaki.
I love baseball, it's the only sport I can watch anymore but if we just keep seeing all these Japanese players going to the Dodgers just because of Ohtani and Yamamoto I think I'm out. It's not good for the game and it's also just kinda pathetic

Stop not everybody is in he isnt signing with any losing team......
Not everyone is in play. Like 4 teams max. In reality. Because his salary will be a non factor
Not 100%, but , Teams with spring training complex in Arizona, they should be considered for Roki. Seems thats important for Japanese players.
Rays are C Tier because Sasaki wants team with great Player Development. So even though Rays on downswing, they have outstanding Development
He’s going to the Dodgers, especially after seeing how much Yamamoto got paid.
彼の内向的な性格を考えたら日本人がいるチームに行くのは間違いないだろうね
I get the A-F ranking. What does S stand for ? Super?
Yes. Checking out gacha gaming rankings
Toronto is a B tier. Houston is a D Texas is a C...... might want to look at this whole thing again!!
Where is the lot of young talent on the Yankees without Soto ?
You just said a day ago he wasn't coming now he's coming ???????????
Freid Texas
Endorsements. He's definitely going to where he can make big $ on endorsements. So that's either NY or CA.
Only the Dodgers offer an entire country worth of endorsements. Dodgers.
What type of delusional is this

@ Yamamoto has a ton of endorsements with American and Japanese companies. The Dodgers will ensure their players get exposure and endorsements. It’s a part of the pitch and they do it better than any franchise. The country of Japan is a vast market for the Dodgers and no other team can compete with it.

COme on man, Yamamoto is not getting a ton.
Only Ohtani gets a ton.
But SD can slip into its normal mode of business
You are absolutely right! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
WHEN WE ARE GOING TO SEE THE TRADE MARKET HEAT UP JIM??? IN YOUR OPINIÓN IT WAS A FIRE TRADE MARKET THIS OFFSEASON.... AT THE MOMENT : 💀💀💀
Dodgers dont need pitching unless he's bullpen and I doubt that
roki wore 17 for a reason
Wondering what number he is gonna wear, could be 14, the one that he wore in WBC, or 11, Ohtani's japanese number. He can buy Miguel Rojas a porsche to ask him to give up that number.
I won't be surprised he's thinking about the smaller market
Mariners have a better chance than this guy thinks
They have a good pitching staff and a history of Japanese players and the stadium is pitcher-friendly
On the other hand, the Braves will be F tier, they never signed a player from Japan and have no connection with the NPB teams, this could go to the Phillies as well
Roki to milwakee Brewers to win world series next year
My guess before this start is:
1. Padres (Shocker)
2. Braves (Praying, God Please!)
3. Dodgers (More than likely)
New York Mets 2025 6 Man Starting Rotation:

6) David Peterson
LET'S GO METS!
Togou 24 year old next year
Roki is signing with la
Imagine if the dodgers still had O’neil Cruz, Cory Seager and Yordon Alvarez
Adames braves
i concur with dis assessment
its written all over the wall already
good googly god the baby mama dodgers
Yeah but it’s the PADRES LOL. It’s like going to the Clippers over the Lakers. Outside the USA, the Padres are a second fiddle organization
The Angels have no chance.. their an embarrassment of a franchise to the Japanese, like Daihatsu or Isuzu
If roki goes to san diego ill be in shambles man
Although the Dodgers seem like the logical choice, I could use the same points Jim made to say he wants to be a Yankee.
Wouldn't some of this come down to the contract they can sign him to? Is his team going to try and get their best deal?
He’s only being posted because he wants to win Ohtani right now. Makes zero sense to come on a minor league deal to play for any other team when he could just wait and make Yamamoto money
Soto Mets
.. Giants should be A or S...
I believe you’re missing another S.
@@JumboJuneau Who am I missing?
Yeah, we already know which team it is going to boil down to. And they just won the World Series.
Alonso cubs
i am baked hahahaha lol Tigers
Hmm 🤔 let’s see… Yu Darvish or Shohei Ohtani… ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Volpe is ok
Can’t see Philly
I love baseball, it's the only sport I can watch anymore but if we just keep seeing all these Japanese players going to the Dodgers just because of Ohtani and Yamamoto I think I'm out. It's not good for the game and it's also just kinda pathetic
1.) Dodgers
2.) Giants
3.) Cubs
4.) Padres
5.) Mets
