The Rays moving to Steinbrenner Field is a win-win for Tampa Bay baseball. The stadium is already built, saving millions compared to a new ballpark, and puts the Rays in a central Tampa location, making games more accessible for fans. The Yankees can still use Steinbrenner for spring training while relocating their Tarpons to a revamped facility like Walter Fuller Park, ensuring both teams thrive. This deal would boost local businesses, reduce public costs, and give Tampa a stronger MLB presence. It’s a smart move for the city, the fans, and the future of baseball here. Let’s make it happen!
Even though the predictions might seem to be really wrong because of the playoff results, I think a lot of things about the playoffs are a dice roll - they're hard to predict. The predictions that particularly matter, and show whether someone is good at making predictions or not, is how they rank the various divisions. Your predictions there were pretty good, and even when they weren't, the reasons you state still mostly held true in what ended up playing out!
The thing about the diamondbacks is that they always somehow take a step back after a promising year. Case in point, the 2017 DBacks looked like they were going to be a great team moving forward, but they flopped so hard in 2018 that any hope for them completely died
I appreciate these reflection vids quite a lot, the will to look back on yourself is not as common of a trait as it should be With a lot of the stuff I disagree with you on, mad respect for stuff like this
This came up in my feed randomly. I think the only thing I know about MLB is Dodgers/Yankees, and that's cause I've been gaming with people that pay attention to that stuff. But I always enjoy a post-season revisit of someone's predictions, doesn't matter what sport it is.
Great video man...I hope some 'big time' analysts had your guts and released a video like this...btw I picked Atlanta to win it all...and I'm a Dodgers fan😂
These really weren’t bad picks going into the season. I also had the cubs winning the central. I think I had the twins too. The only BAD pick was the Yankees. Soto/Judge should have had them atleast in the playoffs.
As a cubs fan the reason we didn’t win the division even though Shota had a below 3 ERA and Suzuki won silver slugger is because of our bullpen. Hector Neris was our full time closer and gave us heart attacks every time he stepped on the mound
Marc, I absolutely love your content (even if we disagree on some things) but I’m going to need you to lock in next year with your picks bro because these were BAD lmao
I remember I told you back then that the NL Central was very wrong, the Cardinals and the Pirates being the best calls, or at least the most probable ones. Turns out I was right
Tbh for how much I clown on you as a crazy bias Mets fan, I don't necessarily think many of these were bad. Probably the worst is being so low on the Yankees when they got Soto. But brewers and guardians I was so low on aswell and everyone else was. Mariners also just seemed so similar to the 23 Dbacks, except all the hitters ended up forgetting to do their jobs
Man this was just sad to watch you be so optimistic about so many teams (including the Mariners :,)) knowing how badly they all played. Tough sport to predict!
I mean, the major reason why the Tigers made the post season was because the Twins and Royals were having a major stink-off in the back half of the season. I'd even put the Orioles there cause they were stinking it up down the stretch too. Tigers still had to win, and they did though, but if they won and the other teams didn't collapse, they might've not made it in spite of the winning. And it's fine, everyone doubted the Dodgers because of the injuries in the playoffs anyway. Every time I said I thought they Dodgers would win I'd get called a homer or out of touch with reality but whatever. I just thought people were underestimating the depth of the lineup and the bullpen.
The rangers started the season for a month in first before multiple pitching injuries. Also Astros started more than 10 games under 500. Oh how the turntables

The part that sticks out the most to me is when you say "As long as [the Dodgers] remain healthy, who can beat them?" Turns out, they don't need to stay healthy. Nobody could beat 85% of a Dodgers team this year.
@@springer124 It's not even just that. They had a full rotation worth of starting pitchers out for the entire playoffs. They had double digit pitchers generally that were out for the year (not including Ohtani who didn't pitch all year)

The Jays won't suck pick wasn't horrible at the time, I had them going in 3rd this year. But they lost their 2 best bullpen arms in ST, Starting Pitching Regressed, Bo Bichette was hurt and dogshit when he did play and Springer was supposed to be way better than he was. Then they didn't have the depth. On Paper, the Jays were not nearly as bad as they performed. You expected the Yankees to be ravaged by injuries, it was the Jays who got ravaged by injuries, and they didnt have Judge + Soto to pull them any higher than 5th when they did get hurt like the yankees wouldve had.
