  • Of the 3 class C RVs available here in North America built on the Sprinter chassis with a Murphy bed and kitchen on the driver's side, the Ultra Brougham is the most affordable.
    Special thanks for Happy Daze RV in Sacramento (www.happydazerv.com) for allowing me to video their Ultra Brougham MB for this video. Call them today to inquire about this particular RV: 916-921-2222

      I Like it! But it has a few major issues, the wasted space under the slide out and the flimsy exterior doors. I assume that under the slide out is where the generator would be installed? I like the trash and laundry solutions, I don’t see the security issues as you do as few would ever know about the interior access however I would be concerned about the flimsy doors letting heat or cold in or out. The trash kind of reminded me of an Airstream rebuild I saw once that had a large cabinet door that opened behind the sink into the entry area, there was a flip up counter section that let you access the trash. The door on the side opened to the large trash bin. It was a good design!
      Edit; if you’re ever bored research a super C. I think showhauler is located not too far north of you.

      Nope. Too many misses on electric. Interior is heavy and traditional. Hardware is awful. Agree on safety. Very 70’s... not a good style year. Great content though, all your hard work really shows. Thank you.

      Not interested in a class C. You need levelers and a toad, thus defeating the whole idea of a class B.

    The Regency Ultra Brougham has several interior color choices..... from light to dark..... I own a Regency Ultra Brougham 2019. I chose a light color combination for the entire coach. Light Stain on the solid wood, light colored corian countertop, and light color for the leather ....As with any new RV adjustments are needed. I took my RV to Regency RV factory for a few minor adjustments. The attitude and professionalism exceeded my high standards...All adjustments where made quickly, efficiently, without any hassle..... One of the workers expressed to me “that he is as proud of my RV as I am “ ......
    The new 2020 models have additional storage attached under the slide out.
    Neal I enjoy watching your channel. Keep up the good work

    Ultramobility I think the build quality of the Regency is very high and not sure how the others comments come to be just based upon a single video.Take a look at Angie’s review of Regency factory visit from NIRVC. As she points out there are only 2 manufacturers that take apart all exterior parts for painting. Pleasure Way and Regency. And only one those removes the interior parts for painting and that is Regency! Arguably that places Regency at one of the best builds.

  • @SSVHD
    @SSVHD 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    We looked at one of these when shopping for our LTV Unity MB. Regency is giving dealers a bigger margin than most other brands. No ducted AC-that’s how they get a taller ceiling, except under the roof AC. The vertical exterior compartment is compromised for space and utility by the laundry hamper, as well as the security issue you brought up. No storage under the slide is a big loss, as you mentioned. Interior is dated looking compared to curved Euro styling. The LTV has a lot more LED spotlights and indirect strip lighting(even in the shower). Impressed with the longer warranty vs. LTV.

    You made your name being the go to person regarding the very popular Class B format. I understand the field is so much smaller now with RoadTrek and Hymer are not in the mix. I have followed you from the beginning and you helped me greatly in my final decision. The Panoramic was my inspiration. I have decided to get my class B through Sportsmobile. There are several great innovative companies making custom class B vans now at comparable prices to mass manufacturers. I think this may be a new area to explore for your fan base. Just my 2 cents.

    I see a load of Regency coaches on the road. Classy look. Reasonable size. As an old man(73) I learned to drive in pre-driver assisrt years when there just weren’t as many people on the roads. I’m fine without all that. It just seems like something else to bump the price and later fail. The MB chassis is already expensive enough to keep up. It does look as though the room is there for storage under the slide out. As a dinette, the space between the chairs looks like you would be banging knees. 40” tv is huge. If you like staying in WalMart or other retail parking lots in rushes trips, the idea of having to put the slide out will kill that ability. I like that the microwave is high enough that it’s easy to see into and clean. I really don’t like low-mounted microwave ovens. The bath is what shines for me in this coach. Plenty of room to dress and keep your clothes. Little kitchen is ok. Pretty coach.

    You could show that for a single traveller the slide out doesn't have to be extended each time you want to sleep on the Murphy bed. You just don't have to fold down the bottom portion of the mattress. This will also save on any wear and tear on the slideouts motor(s)

    To be fair there are only about 20 different key patterns for RV doors (even main doors) in general. I recently went to a locksmith in a small town and asked him to make a duplicate of my travel trailer key. He briefly looked at the key, turned around and pulled a duplicate off the wall rack. He said he supplied the whole series of keys to every new RV salesman that gets hired at the local RV dealers and that most locksmiths carried the complete set.

    I like the shoot feature for laundry and it is a concern, however, the people who would be buying these coaches will mostly be staying at resort-style camping sites or neighborhoods where that would be of little concern but with that said I would have an inside bolt lock installed and problem solved. I drive 18 wheelers and its the same with them. We sleep inside and ANYONE with a key can unlock your door which is why it is recommended to tie your seatbelt and the same goes with the sleeper campers and the pass-through. The truth is just living in a vehicle is easily accessible for anyone.

    You are too kind Neil... I don’t know many men who weigh 160 or even women at 130 nowadays . My wife and easily qualify but it’s rare.
    As nice as large skylights are they are also huge heat sinks. Wha is is the AC btu? 13,500 or 15,000? I would have to question the support given by the recliner extension. If you sat on the end of the bed and weighed say 200+ that might be an issue.
    Regency always makes a very nice looking coach. We looked at their B Class before we went with a Tiffin Wayfarer. Oh by the way we just returned from the Wayfarer service center in AL. The service was Outstanding and they have 18 RV sites with full hook ups and free wi-fi.
    The people there are more than accommodating and people come from all over to get warranty and other service. We went to the plant a few miles away and were given a personal tour by Trent Tiffin. Hey you’re dealing with a Family owned business and they care about what their customers think.

    • @JRMoritz

      JR Moritz 2020 Tiffin Wayfarer 25RW.

    • @JRMoritz
      @JRMoritz 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Timothy Chiasson That model has the lowest carrying capacity mostly because of the fully wall slide. Tiffin uses diesel generators which are heavier than propane. All Mercedes Sprinter Class C motor homes are the same basically. Other manufacturers will use cheaper materials to save weight. Tiffin has the best suspension in the business and includes Sumo springs standard. I believe there is some latitude in the carrying weight (within reason). Neil probably would not agree. If you are concerned you will need to carry only what you need and make sure everything is lightweight or go with a different model like the TW.

    Another RV channel recommends that you change those outside storage locks ASAP. It's easy to do, so no excuses. He also recommends changing the camper door lock to the keyless entry (those number combination) lock. First, it's not a lock that someone could easily have the master on, and he likes the convenience.
    I'm not crazy about the Murphy Bed layout. I prefer a fixed bed. Even a corner bed is better than a Murphy. Though, now that I'm single, twin beds appeal to me, as I can bring a friend and we don't need to share a bed. But I do like to just plop down and sleep, while still having the lounge set up.

    • @Ultramobility

    Part of the reason it appears dark is all that dark, traditional wood. I wish more RV manufacturers would get away from the types of finishes that would have been okay in the 70s and 80s but look impossibly dated today. Not all RV buyers are old, and even among those who are getting up there, not all want to revisit the 70s. :)
    Also, those chairs. When both are facing the table there looks like there's about a foot of room. Where would the two people put their knees??
    Overall though, I'd probably pick this coach over the Leisure Travel coach. The warranty and the price. And thank you so much for reviewing Class C coaches! It's hugely appreciated.

This is the biggest reason I'll probably go with a custom van conversion. I like to cook wayyyy more than I like hanging out in the loo. 😂

    Oldsmobile called and want their trademarks back /s . My dad had a 1983 Oldsmobile 98 Regency Brougham and back in the 70's / 80's those names meant luxury.
    In 2019, I'm not so sure. Time for a new marketing executive.

    The more of these expensive cheaply made RVs I see, the more convinced I become that the only option for me is a custom build by a high end builder like Advanced RV. Rather than pay 150k-200k for a poorly made, poorly designed RV, I'd rather just pay 250k and get a true lifetime quality rig that is designed and built to my exact specifications. Some are better than others, but it seems that most mainstream RV manufacturers are stuck in this low quality rut.

    So just OK. No safety features makes it no sale for some. Bed could be smaller. Kitchen needs to be bigger. My Doug score is 35 out of 100. Maybe I’m just not a person that likes the expensive look and feel over form and function.
    No Lithium upgrade in 2019 really dates this build. Generator are noisy, making it a problem in some campgrounds.

    At first blush, I liked this... beautiful brown interior fabrics and color choices. But, it looks like they intentionally copied Leisure Travel's signature window style and paint, but not the quality. LTV's compartment doors are thick, insulated, and solid-latching. The whole vehicle is designed and insulated for Canadian winters. The Regency looks slapped together just so they could have a vehicle in that so-called B+ segment. Back to the drawing board, Regency... and to the boardroom, to invest more money into your product.

    Sorry for going into details, but your calculations for carrying capacity does not reflect actual tank sizes in this unit. Calcs used 30 gallons but actual tanks are smaller fresh and larger gray. Only questioning this as your driver/passenger weights may not be realistic.

    • @conniebilyeu4434
      @conniebilyeu4434 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Agree that driver/passenger weight estimates are on the low side, and that seems to be consistent within the industry. They all use 180/130, which I'd be is lower than average for Americans, though perhaps only because I live in the hearty midwest . If you increase the passenger weight total for taller/larger people, say +100 lbs, and add a 50 lb dog, the CCC doesn't look as generous. Realistic CCC is definitely a consideration for us. Coachmen does better with their class B's. Recognizing that it takes a while to retool assembly lines, still not sure why American manufacturers haven't done more to explore Azdel and other lighter materials for cabinetry and interiors, to reduce weight the way Canadian & European manufacturers seem to have. Would be another way to increase CCC by reducing weight of interior materials.

The passthrough door is Scary and the baggage doors would not be acceptable on a 10k travel trailer. I still like it, but not at this price.
