Back problems for Bob Jenkins. Before then, 1987 Transouth 500 when it was Larry Nuber and Doc Punch calling that race after Bob Jenkins lost his father. Even the 1985 Southern 500.
On November 4, 1990, ESPN's Speedworld traveled to Phoenix International Raceway in Phoenix, Arizona, during the 1990 NASCAR Winston Cup Series season, for the Checker 500. Bob Jenkins does not appear in this race due to back problems.
THIS race decided the 1990 Winston Cup NOT Richmond in the second race... Mark Martin led the points standings for almost the entire 1990 season until this race...
Earnhardt won this race and took the point lead going into Atlanta. Mark Martin? Their strategy didn't quite work. Martin finished 10th and Earnhardt left Phoenix with a 6 point lead.
Nice thumbnail pic of DW Tide car. One of the nicest looking stock cars.
Of course it was. I even had a Tide #17 on my binder at school. It was DW's second to last race with Rick Hendrick.
Loved the tide ride. But to me the Monte Carlo just looked better. Seemed the orange was brighter and popped more
Ned Jarret and Benny Parsons were the best
B.P. has always been my favourite 👍
He called a race like a fan. I love his excitement.

Ol' Bills car looks damn good.
The one time a year Bob Jenkins isn't doing a race due to illness so we got Dr. Punch calling those duties.

If you'll direct your attention to the community section of my channel, you will find your answer
Mark Martin's best chance.
Too bad.
SMIFF ... Sorry to bother !!! Wouldn't you, by chance, have Pocono 500 2008?
It was a good track for leading up to the championship deciding race. But its not a good track now as it is for determining the championship
