In this episode we finally arrive at our new home in Bulgaria. We thought be able to just arrive, kick back relax and enjoy pitching up at our final destination.....boy we're we wrong!

Dear family, welcome to Bulgaria..! We Bulgarians have a saying: - The eyes are afraid, but the hands are not..! With desire and teamwork, you can bring life back to this home and make it your fortress! Our land is generous and will thank you richly for your care! Don't be afraid to seek advice and help from your Bulgarian neighbors! They can help you a lot with advice and knowledge! You are young and have young children for whom you can create a home they could never have in England! Fingers crossed for you, because the first winter will be a test for you! I wish you good luck!
Thank you for your fantastic comment Peter. We have every intention on becoming a key part of our bulgarian Village, taking part in the culture and living off the land, showing it love and care. Its already giving back to us the love we're putting in ❤. Our neighbours have been instrumental in our, so far, fast progression. They are so friendly, welcoming and giving. We're gearing up for winter, and we can feel it fast approaching!

21:54 - £7500 is dirty cheap. Even with the reforms, you still end up winning. Hopefully, you have good neighbours (if any). There is another Brit family in Bulgaria, who have a YT channel called Our Derelict Dream and they already did the same and their house now looks much better 2 years later. All the best of luck!
Hey Lima! Yes we're super aware of our derelict dream we watched there youtube channel about 2 years ago when we first considered moving here. They had a very hug influence on our decision in the end. And you're right, what we've got for our money is just absolutely crazy, especially when you guys see the next videos!!!! How did you go about buying a house? Was this done remotely, through a realtor, was it a direct buyer-seller deal, what pages or internet portals did you use to browse the available houses?
Do you speak the language?

How incredible for you! It's exciting, nerve wracking but most of all very freeing... its not for everyone, it's the hardest most challenging thing we've ever done. But if it was easy, everyone would have already done it. We're glad we've taken this gamble now and not later down the line.
@Pete Myself (Lewis) managed to secure residency just after brexit as there was a window up until December 31st 2021 ...then because I was a residency, and me and my wife are married with children we hired a solicitor to help us get residency after as I already had my own.
From Chesterfield ourselves thinking of making this move...such a huge decision, any advice or regrets?

I know the feeling about seeing the roads for the first time in BG and yes, you guys are brave and bold and definitely did it the unconventional way. That was kind of Joe and Jess. I know Joe and his Father. They are nice people. So big is the land mate and how big is the house, what village are you in , are you near to Joe ?
Sometimes in life you have to take some risks, as they say, if you risk nothing you risk everything. Yeah very nice people :). It was a real help in a time when we probably would have just stayed at a hotel and burned through more of the money we had saved, not ideal! So the house have 5 rooms total currently but eventually will have 8 total. The annex has 3 rooms, and the barn is well, a barn, but its very big, maybe 32sqm.
Even in Mad Max they have better roads.

Hey, no we didn't speak it before we came. Once you emerged yourself in it, you adjust and work hard to figure out the basics really quick
We went racing in The Netherlands and went via dover. The bloke in front had a transit. One by one he brought 6 Rottweilers out to passport control. Was we pulled up to the window the guy in security said “there was only 6 in there wasn’t there?” & I said well… wasn’t that your job? 😂
Hahaha! They're not as strict as everyone thinks, that's for sure!

guys be living my dream life even tho im from Bulgaria i cant afford to buy a 7k house i cant even grow a youtube channel as a side hustle cus nobody subscribes so at least i can be watching those guys living my dream life here hahaha one advice - never start a job in Bulgaria find a UK remote job and never work in Bulgaria

It's very bad, there is no life here in England, people are unhappy, most people use cocaine or marijuana anyway and the entertainment venues here close early. Discos, nightclubs and bars close very early, but in Bulgaria, discos are open until the morning. It's very bad in England. Like everyone else, I only stay here for work and money.

The climate is more pleasant for sure. Bit your summers are super hot, you have to hide 🤣
@@frombournemouthtobulgariait wasn't that hot earlier, but for the last 20 years it changed,in the 80' first snow fell in October and stayed to March, now it's late December if at all.From the heath waves you can escape to the mountains-thank God for them!

we will make a few visits next year when weather get better . and start getting the garden undercontrol and the electric and water hooked up. we are in lesovo beside the turkey border.

We live in Haskovo 😊, South Eastern Bulgaria.

It's so inspiring to see young, hard working people breathing life into these beautiful old houses that would otherwise stand empty and be ruined. Can't wait to see you turn this house into a home
@@serenahecate3892 oh how amazong! Honestly, the villages around here are really quite incredible. The certainly do vary in quality depending on how close the are to towns, but ours is very well looked after and everyone in the Village is very friendly, our mayor is fantastic and it's just a wonderful way of life. We think eventually house prices here will get very high, so we're glad we took the opportunity before it was too late!

Omg i hope so you sidnt pay no more than 1000£ for this house on the eng of the village in that condition?
We did pay much more than that, around £7,500 in total, but believe it or not. We've not really spend much more on the property and it's already looking fantastic, functional and livable. To buy a house for £1000 is a wee bit optimistic. We were happy with the price and the 2 acres of land 😊

The difference is were very hard working and willing to turn this house into something beautiful! And it's already taking place and starting to look incredible! Where are you planning on looking?
