Be careful about using a "Ball Mill" style of Concrete resurfacing, it's very aggressive and leaves micro fractures in the concrete. I know your pad is pretty thick. I watched it get laid down, but you can only do that so many times over the years before you start to lose too much top surface (Adds additional micro cracks and expands existing ones). Over time the transition from Asphalt to Concrete will feature a drop (Quarter of an inch give or take, depending on how many times you resurface with that method). You are going to have to do the whole pad for continuity purposes, not just the rubbery areas (So you don't end up with a slight bowl shape after 5-10 years, unless you want that, then party hard brother!) Now that I think about it, a slight bowl shape in the center of the burnout pad might be better for Burnouts. I know you use it for drifting too, and some racing, that's the whole reason for this post. You deserve nothing less than perfection, you earned it. Also, that fine dust that is produced by the process is going to play hell on your drainage system via sedimentation. Basically, the dust is so fine it ends up depositing and turning into a Semi-Solid in your drainage system. It's not an issue at first, but this is an over-time issue. I know you are in it for the long haul, I fully support you brother! The only way around that is to Vacuum it up, or blow the dust off into the Grass, but remember, when it rains, those fine particles can get re-suspended in the runoff water and carried into the drainage system. It's worth the extra expense to Vacuum it, unless it's included in the original quote. The good thing about the Vacuum is that you can keep the dust to reuse for another Concrete project, and you don't have to worry about drainage issues 10 years later! Sorry for the Wall-O-Text. 🙂
He could always use a densifier to tighten the concrete up to stop the cracking . Than run over it with a shot blaster rather than a scarifier. The densifier will also stop it powdering up and turning to dust
I saw nothing wrong with your whole text except you'd have to put a drain in the middle because it would turn from a drift bowl into a 'bowl of water' when it rained.

O got to say I can appreciate how much you guys work. So many other content creators start things and you never see them finish or you end up waiting months to see something finished. You guys put so much work into everything and provide so much great content. Nicely done team Cleetus.
I work in highway construction, go with profiler and buff it with grinder like they suggested. It will take out all the high spots of the pad to about an 1in and give the rain water somewhere to settle. Won't help much for 3in of rain but a quick summer shower won't stop the show.
The problem with grooves is that they're really grippy across the grain but there's no grip in the direction of the grooves. Great for a road surface since traffic is always going in a straight line, but for something like this where you're driving all over the place it would probably be too erratic/unpredictable.
Congratulations, Cleetus. You and your crew have taken Hot Rodding to a whole new level Hats off to you, brother! P.S. I had an uncle named Cleetus, we loved him very much.
I have done concrete prep for many years and in my opinion shotblaster is the best option you can use different shot size to achieve the texture you want. If I could I would come down and do it for you but I’m quite a long distance away. Btw the machine I use is a Blastrac 4800 biggest shotblaster in the world. I love it!!
Cleet, with the parts shortages going on with OEM parts, maybe motion race works should start pumping out some of these hard to get parts for GM, Ford, and Mopar.
To create a process, refine, and get those parts to the public would take a lot of time. They would probably need to get new equipment to do it and machines aren't easy to get quickly.

Acid etch the concrete way easier and faster and will give you exactly what you want for grip. Maybe you could convert a snow plow attachment into a huge squeegee for the burnout pad. Use some old tire tread or some sort of rubber on the bottom and just push the water off the pad if it rains. Something to try before spending a bunch to have the pad ground down.
I work on highways, a profile grinder is the way to go, it will be rough on the first few sets of tires but it will hold up nicely and won’t degrade your wearing surface on the concrete. Downside is you will see more small corner breaks at saw joint intersections, still very minor though.
I also have been in the concrete business for 15 years. More on the supply and logistics side, but either way have spent time doing just about everything. The problem with running shot on the slab, as you know is it will “knock off” the top layer of “slump” they use to finish off the concrete and expose more aggregate. Terminology is different everywhere. But I’m in complete agreement with you. Run a 1/8” or less profile and let time and wear do the rest.

The machine that uses steel shot will give you the ability to adjust the texture of the surface. The only problem is that the new grippy texture will effect how you drift when it is dry.
asphalt permeates mutch more than concreate, profile mill might have enough grip with puddling but the ball method surely won't and won't have any chance, the profiling mill could add a stronger grade to your pad for drainage

I think LS George is an asset to your brand. Glad you are taking care of him. He has personality to the moon and back….don’t get me wrong Jackstand Jimmy is still numero uno…..after you
coefficient of drag is key. you can do small scale research on this. it'd make a cool video. but it'd give you a local and controlled test environment to decide how to make the pad competitive and consistent with the blacktop. the thing with blacktop is its always scrubbing down to a new layer like sandpaper. so any improvement on concrete is temporary. unless you grind an inch of concrete and pave an inch of blacktop on top of it. this can also smoothen out the transition area between the blacktop and concrete you currently have.
George deserves every bit of the love he gets from Cleet and the crew. So glad to see him so happy.

The blazer is my favorite because I live in mine! 😃👍
Them concrete guys, good professional attitudes, knowledgeable an not forcing any direction. Well done 👍
I’m not sure what I’m more excited to see, Leroy version 69 or George’s grocery to the moon blazer. Either way I can’t freaking wait!
THIS is the Month of Freedom upload I’ve been waiting on!!!!!!!!!
Can't wait to see the Blazer and Mullet with new hearts beating that pavement. He'll yeah brother!!
Definitely love the way you opted for more strength in the valve covers!
I heard one of the turbskies winners was from Willis TX, I’m a Brit, I spent two months in Willis tx back in the 90’s working for a control cable company, blast from the past.
i worked with the guy from mass traction for a weekend at dragway 42 in ohio, hands down the best track guy every founded and he’s a great guy to be around! plus his truck and trailer set up is bad ass!
You're so close to 3 million subs. We need a livestream for when you get within striking distance.
I saw the Steve Morris Engine coming for Mullet during Sick Week. 😎
And to think it all started a few years ago with Garret Mitchell acting like he was Cleetus McFarland, the owner of Tom Baileys Steve Morris equipped Pro Mod Camaro. It all comes full circle. About to head around for the next time!!!
I'm certainly coming along for the ride!
I see a whole fleet of Steve Morris Ethanol Big Blocks coming on down the line before it's all said and done!
Rippers ONE AND ALL! 😎😎😎😎😎😎😎
As Always, May God Bless you and yours!
This man straight up narrowed the gap between his gate. All I can say is thank goodness for the push bar. Man knows his gate
Blazer is Looking G O O D
I think LS George is an asset to your brand. Glad you are taking care of him. He has personality to the moon and back….don’t get me wrong Jackstand Jimmy is still numero uno…..after you
"OH my phalange! Oh brother!
I think it's still on there"

Cleet confirming he’s coming back to Summernats is the biggest hype of the video for an Australian

George is a good kid man. Love that guy.
Love the subtle Stalekracker “Money Dude”
You should do some videos with Sam on polishing cars, steel, aluminum and stainless. It would be cool to learn some tricks on keeping our toy shiny!
this is a great group of friends right here. friend ships like this are hard to come by these days!
coefficient of drag is key. you can do small scale research on this. it'd make a cool video. but it'd give you a local and controlled test environment to decide how to make the pad competitive and consistent with the blacktop. the thing with blacktop is its always scrubbing down to a new layer like sandpaper. so any improvement on concrete is temporary. unless you grind an inch of concrete and pave an inch of blacktop on top of it. this can also smoothen out the transition area between the blacktop and concrete you currently have.
