    Hi, i have a question on playlists in FPP. I had created a projection mapping playlist for 2022 Halloween of videos that I project onto my home, the bad thing is a bunch of my videos were deleted in my computer by accident so the only ones i have now are on a 16GB SD card that's formatted for FPP. The problem now is this years shows will not fit on that SD card so I'm trying to figure out if the shows that are on the 16gb card can be transferred on to a 32gb card that I have. not sure if this is possible or not but would be extremely helpful if it can. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
    Ron

    • @How2Pixel
      @How2Pixel  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So there's only one way I can think of doing this, and that would be to download all your music/sequence/video/etc files off the FPP (you can do this in the file manager and clicking download for each file) and then download a backup to your computer of all the fpp settings. You can make a backup by going into the status control tab, and going to FPP backup. Then under the JSON backup section, set the backup area to all, then hit download. Once you've got all the files off FPP and onto a computer, you'll have to flash a new FPP to the 32GB sd card, and put that into the PI (or whatever device you are using). Then once you get the FPP on, skip the initial setup and go to FPP backup. Go to restore backup and upload the JSON file you downloaded, then select all and restore configuration. Once that's done, you can expand the file system, and upload all your sequence/music/video files you downloaded. If you have any other questions feel free to ask!

    Hi! Your videos have been super helpful. Any idea why my controller interface’s test mode is working but the FPP interface test mode or sequences don’t? The IP address of the controller appears to be correct (it works when I type it in the browser and that number matches the output settings in FPP). Seems like my FPP isn’t communicating with the controller. I used FPP connect in XLights so doesn’t appear to be an error in entering info.

    • @How2Pixel
      @How2Pixel  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hmm do you have the universes and channels set up correctly on the controller and FPP? What type of controller do you have? Even if the network is set up correctly, you still need to set up the channel outputs on FPP and also the channel inputs on your controller for the data to be sent.

    • @ambiguousasfuck
      @ambiguousasfuck 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@How2Pixel I believe the channels and universes are set up correctly because I can test from the controller's interface...I am working with the Falcon V4.
      The output on FPP is the controller with its IP address listed. Perhaps there is an error on the controller's input tab... Is there a specific action I am supposed to select?

    • @How2Pixel
      @How2Pixel  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hmm what I'm trying to figure out is if it's a problem on the FPP side or controller side. When you run a sequence or test from FPP, do you see packets coming in on the status page of the controller? If you go to the bottom of the status page on the controller, there's the E1.31 packets received section that shows all your universes of data the controller is waiting for. When you run something from FPP, does the packet count go up? If it does, that means the controller is at least receiving the data.

      @@How2Pixel Just tried this, a pop-up on the controller interface says says "wi-fi received E1.31 data, wifi cannot process E.31"

    • @How2Pixel
      @How2Pixel  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ohhh does your controller and FPP have a direct ethernet connection between each other? E1.31 data has a lot to it and it cannot be sent over wifi so you have to use ethernet. So is your FPP hardwired directly into the controller? Or hardwired into a router/network switch that the controller is also hardwired into? If not you need to use an ethernet connection between them, whether directly or through a router, otherwise it won't work. Let me know if this helps!

    if you run a wifi range extender do you have to set up fpp for that? as i have already installed it to my routers wifi but i have a seperate wifi on my laptop showing the extender when i switch between both on my laptop fpp still works but Im not sure if the pi will use the extender when placed in the yard
    thanks

    • @How2Pixel
      @How2Pixel  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hopefully I understood your question right but basically you're saying you have a wifi extender and it has a separate ssid (wifi name) then your main wifi. You should be able to connect the pi to the extender with no problem, but I'm not sure if your computer will be able to connect to it if your using that on your main wifi. I would assume it'd work but I've never used wifi extenders in my show. As long as you put in the right ssid and password on the pi then it should hopefully work.

    • @How2Pixel

      So there's a number of things to check. Test the lights on a different port to make sure that the pixels aren't dead. It's very common for people to think there config is messed up, when its actually a dead pixel. Second, double check the controllers config. What controller are you using?

      Ok so your talking about connecting to the controller through the pi as a network bridge right? If that's what you mean, I really didn't explain it in this video because there's so many steps. I feel like it needs it's own video.
