Thanks for the video. You helped me to find how to show kW for DC Power in my custom dashboard. I didn’t understand why they showed hp and didn’t realize I could change it in the Units menu.

I'm going to be getting an OBD2 reader in the near future, thanks for recommending the Veepeak and for the great video.

Does anyone know if this Veepeak BLE works on a 2024 Toyota Venza hybrid? I'm interested in engine RPM as the vehicle doesn't come with a tachometer which I think is pretty pathetic..

Is this tool only a reader? can it write data into the car computer? I need an OBD dongle like OBDEleven to program 12V battery information after installing a new 12V battery. i.e., battery adaptation. Can Veepeak also do that? Thanks.

Any chance you could rush through any faster?

I apologize if it was too quick, no one has mentioned that before. Feel free to pause it or use the playback speed adjuster if that might help!
      Best,

Tyler?? Sorry if a bit off topic but i have searched and can not verify on the ID 4: 1). What is the heater kW rated at. Mach E is 5k n the Bolt is 9k.
2). Is the 12v battery AGM or just plain lead acid?
As for the app n the dongle i have both the same. Good video.

Unfortunately I don't know those answers! I think the heater is around 8-9kW at full blast. Not positive on the 12v!

Would you recommmend a 2021 ID4 ? And would you prefer a 1st Edition or Pro S trim? I am researching several used 2021 Volkswagen ID4s priced at $25000. Thank you. I admire your videos. Your videos are more honest than most.

I think if you want to buy an ID.4 getting a used one is a must. The depreciation has been absolutely insane. As far as the 2021, they do have issues, but the software updates that VW has finally rolled out should improve the vast majority of issues with the ID.4. I have also seen improved charging speeds as well on the 2021s with the software upgrade! It might be worth trying to get a certified preowned 2021 for peace of mind.
As far as 1st Edition vs Pro S. They are basically the same. 1st edition does not come in AWD, so if you want AWD you need to get the Pro S. The 1st Edition has Play and Pause caps on the pedals (fun but not life changing). The 1st edition has 20in Wheels vs the S's 19in Wheels. The 1st Edition also has a white steering wheel and infotainment as well.
Hope this helps! Thanks for watching!

@@theaverageev thank you for your advice. I only buy from privaye owners. Looking at two ID4s on Autotrader priced near $25000 (in order to get the tax credit). Do I want to go to Michigan to get one? Maybe. BTW, I am also in Maryland and if I get an ID4 I could help you if needed. I will be getting the OBD scanner and app you recommended.

I do want to let you know that unfortunately you can only get the Used Credit if it is purchased from a dealer. Road trips are always fun, so Michigan could be fun!
I didn't realize you were so close!

What battery size do you have? I see you max battery storage is 55 kwh. I hope you have the smaller battery.

    • @theaverageev

I have the big battery, it is/was cold out when this was recorded so stored energy is going to be less. I am mulling the idea of doing a capacity test to see what degradation is. I am waiting for it being warmer to do so. There is no way it is 29% degradation. I would bet its closer 5-8%.

    • @rjbme

Using the same app I was able to pull the battery’s reported degradation from my Mach e. It said 3%. It might be on one of the pre set screens.
