    Finally got the truck in the garage after several weeks of prep. Out comes the outdated dysfunctional obsolete optispark LT1 and in goes the tried and true 0411 LM7 combo.

    As always I will say that you have all your bases covered. Professional as always and the only thing I can say is slow down a half a second so we can keep your description with the camera. I hope that you have a good morning and a great day today. Enjoy the sun and nice weather.

      The only reason I don’t slow down is because I’m trying to keep these videos under 30 minutes lol.

    You got your work cut out for you. Nothing worse than figuring out what the guy before you did and undoing it. I was pretty nervous with you leaving the radiator in and pulling the engine, but, you pull it off. Good for you, but, still scary. Good luck with the swap.

      The swap was actually done well (besides the fuel system). The issue is just how old of a swap it was.

    Hi Travis, I may be interested in the LT1. How do I contact you privately? Thanks.

    What about vats, wrong injector data???

    • @travisblack417
      @travisblack417  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Vats is a single button to turn off. Injector data is staying the exact same. What I meant by “flash” was I don’t have to modify what year/make/model/engine/trans/etc to make this thing run. I’ll turn off emissions equipment as well but zero major things have to change.

      @@travisblack417 stainless 30.. lbs injection? VS 23 lbs injectors?

    • @travisblack417
      @travisblack417  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@pmotorsports8276 we’re going to be running the 24lb multec 2 injectors. The harness we’re going to run has multec 2 injector plugs. The 24’s are fine for a mild 5.3. If we ever run out of injector I’ll throw in a set of 32lb multec 2’s from an 8.1

    Why pull a 5.7 and only put a 5.3 back into it? Figure you would have put one of those 6.0 in to replace and beef up?

    • @travisblack417
      @travisblack417  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Because even the LM7 5.3 makes more power than an impala LT1. The idea is to use this motor to get the swap done, then once it’s all dialed in and solid decide if we want to build a 450-550hp 6.0 to swap in its place.

      The LT1 is not a bad engine other than the optical setup Travis mentioned, in it's time was powerful compared to most other options. To get a good opti distributor is near 500$ and a cam for them is around 400$
      The LS series is much more stout, better fuel economy and respond really well to modifications. A healthy 5.3 with any decent cam makes roughly 400hp at the crank with excellent reliability and availability.

      @@BDauto86 agreed. If this LT1 was a vette/Camaro aluminum head variant I think we would have continued to try and make it work. Oh and also if we could have actually got into the computer…
